Technical Field
The present invention relates to a surface property evaluation method, a surface property evaluation device, and a surface property evaluation system for evaluating a surface treatment state of a test object such as a surface-treated steel product.
Background
As surface treatment of steel products and the like, various heat treatments (carburizing and quenching, nitriding heat treatment, induction quenching and the like) and shot peening have been widely performed. By these surface treatments, desired characteristics of the product can be improved. For example, the fatigue strength is improved by applying residual stress to the vicinity of the surface of the product by shot peening. As for the surface treatment, the treatment conditions are considered according to the use of the product to form a desired residual stress. In order to evaluate with high accuracy whether such surface treatment is appropriately performed, it is necessary to grasp a surface treatment state (for example, distribution of residual stress) in a depth direction from the surface of the product.

Problems to be solved by the invention
In order to solve the above-described problems, the applicant has developed a surface property evaluation device capable of accurately evaluating residual stress of a steel material subjected to surface treatment in consideration of distribution of the residual stress in the depth direction based on a calculated impedance ratio by obtaining a change in impedance with respect to frequency by penetrating an alternating-current magnetic field into a subject through a coil of a detector, calculating a ratio (impedance ratio) of the impedance of an untreated product to the impedance of a surface-treated product with respect to the impedance, and a surface property evaluation method using the surface property evaluation device (patent document 3).
Thus, the residual stress of the surface-treated steel material can be evaluated with high accuracy while taking into consideration the distribution of the residual stress in the depth direction, but the applicant has intensively studied and found a surface property evaluation method for evaluating the surface treatment state with higher accuracy.
In addition, with respect to products subjected to various surface treatments, for example, products subjected to shot peening after carburization, it is also required to evaluate whether or not the surface treatment state in each step is good by step by one measurement.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a surface property evaluation method, a surface property evaluation device, and a surface property evaluation system, which can evaluate a surface treatment state of a sample such as a surface-treated steel product with high accuracy, taking into consideration a distribution in a depth direction. Next, a method of evaluating the surface property state and the surface treatment process of the object will be described. Next, a case in which evaluation of the surface treatment state and the surface treatment step of a sample is performed after carburizing treatment and shot blasting treatment (hereinafter, referred to as "SP treatment") is performed as a surface treatment will be described as an example.
The surface property evaluation method of the present invention includes a preparation step, an impedance distribution acquisition step, and an impedance distribution analysis step.
First, in the preparation step, as a subject, an untreated product that has not been subjected to a surface treatment, a non-defective product that has been subjected to an appropriate surface treatment, and an evaluation product that is an evaluation target are prepared.
Next, the impedance distribution acquisition step includes a step of penetrating the ac magnetic field into the subject, a step of changing the penetration depth of the ac magnetic field, and a data acquisition step of acquiring the distribution of impedance.
In the step of penetrating the ac magnetic field into the inside of the subject, first, the subject is placed inside the
Next, as a step of changing the penetration depth of the ac magnetic field, a signal for controlling the frequency of the ac current output from the ac power supply 11 is output from the
Here, the depth of penetration of the ac magnetic field into the subject depends on the frequency of the ac current. While the frequency of the alternating current output from the alternating current power supply 11 is changed by the
The same operation was performed for the non-defective product and the evaluated product, and the impedance Z in the depth direction was obtained1、Z2Distribution of (2). Here, the frequency of the alternating current is the same as the frequency of the untreated product.
Next, the impedance distribution analysis step includes creating a reference measurement value group Gγ1Step (3) of creating an evaluation measurement value group Gγ2And a step of evaluating the surface treatment state of the evaluation product. That is, in the impedance distribution analyzing step, the surface treatment state of the object in the depth direction is evaluated based on the impedance distribution obtained in the impedance distribution obtaining step.
As shown in FIG. 3, in step S1, a set G of reference measurement values is createdγ1With respect to the impedance Z of the untreated article at a plurality of frequencies0And impedance Z of the non-defective product1The impedance ratio γ 1 (Z) is calculated for each frequency by the
Here, the impedance Z of the untreated article0It is preferable to average the measurement results of 10 or more unprocessed products for each frequency and calculate a reference value of the
In step S2, an evaluation measurement value group G is createdγ2With respect to the impedance Z of the evaluation product at a plurality of frequencies equal to the reference measurement value set2The impedance Z of the evaluation product calculated for each frequency is prepared2Impedance Z with respect to untreated article0Impedance ratio of gamma 2 (Z)2/Z0) The obtained evaluation measurement value group Gγ2。
By using the impedance ratios γ 1 and
In the next step S3, the group G of measurement values is determined based on the referenceγ1Come systemA reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship is made to show an impedance ratio [ gamma ] 1 corresponding to a depth from the surface of a non-defective product. The reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship is obtained by calculating the depth from the surface of the non-defective product based on the frequency and plotting the corresponding
y: penetration depth (μm) of AC magnetic field
k: correction factor
x: frequency of alternating current (Hz)
μ: magnetic permeability (H/m) of steel
σ: conductivity (S/m) of Steel
When the frequency is high, a signal reflecting the surface treatment state in the vicinity of the surface can be obtained, and when the frequency is low, a signal reflecting the surface treatment state in a deeper region can be obtained. The correction coefficient k in the above equation is a value that varies depending on the influence of the shape (for example, the volume of the subject), the properties (for example, whether or not the heat treatment is performed as a previous stage), the SP treatment conditions (for example, the particle diameter, hardness, injection time, and injection pressure of the pellet), and the like of the subject, and is experimentally calculated in advance.
Here, the impedance ratio can be plotted against the frequency to create a reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship.
Next, a reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship of the impedance ratio is exemplified. Fig. 4 shows a reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship of the impedance ratio among the carburized product, the SP-treated product, and the SP-treated product after the carburization and the SP treatment.
Shot blasting was performed by using a shot blasting machine (manufactured by shin-Etsu Industrial Co., Ltd.) by blasting shot pellets having an average particle size of 50 to 1000 μm (manufactured by shin-Etsu Industrial Co., Ltd.) with a blast pressure of 0.3MPa and a coverage of 300% against carburized and quenched chrome molybdenum steel (
In the reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship of the impedance ratio, when the impedance ratio exceeds 1, the permeability is increased as compared with the untreated product, and when the impedance ratio is less than 1, the permeability is decreased as compared with the untreated product.
Since factors affecting the impedance and the depth of the surface treatment are different depending on the surface treatment process, the tendency of the impedance ratio between the impedance of the surface-treated product and the impedance of the untreated product is different depending on the surface treatment process. Factors that affect the impedance include a structural change in the carburizing treatment, a martensitic transformation in the SP treatment, and a residual stress due to an applied strain. The depth affected by the surface treatment is about several hundred micrometers (μm) in the carburized product, whereas about several tens of micrometers (μm) in the SP-treated product, and the depth of the SP-treated product is a shallow region in the vicinity of the surface.
The carburized product had an impedance ratio of 1 in the vicinity of the surface, and the impedance ratio tended to decrease significantly as the distance from the surface increased.
Regarding the SP-treated product, the impedance ratio in the vicinity of the surface exceeds 1. The impedance ratio tends to gradually decrease with increasing distance from the surface. The reduction degree of the impedance ratio is smaller than the reduction degree of the impedance ratio of the carburized product.
The resistance ratio of the SP-treated product after carburization exceeds 1 in the vicinity of the surface, and tends to increase from the surface to about 15 μm, then decrease, and become 1 or less at about 40 μm. In this way, when the surface treatment process is performed in a plurality of steps and the carburizing treatment and the SP treatment are combined, the reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship of the impedance ratio draws a curve having a maximum value.
By means of the
In step S4, an evaluation criterion corresponding to the surface treatment step is selected. As the evaluation criterion, three criteria, i.e., an area criterion, a peak criterion, and an area criterion, which use the criterion two-dimensional correspondence and the evaluation measurement value group, are used, and the evaluation criterion is selected from these criteria.
The regional benchmarks are the following benchmarks: from the set G of reference measurement valuesγ1Setting an allowable range W1 of impedance ratio at each frequency, and comparing the allowable range with the evaluation measurement value group Gγ2The

Here, the allowable range W1 may have a value different for each depth. The allowable range W1 may be set to a range in which the upper and lower parts of the average value are fixed, or may be set to threshold ranges in which the upper and lower parts of the threshold range are different for a specific frequency.
Fig. 5A shows a reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship showing an allowable range W1 a curve of the
The peak benchmarks are the following benchmarks: from the set G of reference measurement valuesγ1An allowable range of the position (peak position) of the extreme value M of the impedance ratio is set, and the allowable range is compared with the position of the extreme value of the
As shown in fig. 6A, in the reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship, a range in which an extremum is likely to exist when the surface treatment is good is set as the allowable range W2. The allowable range W2 is set as a rectangular region surrounded by the allowable range of the depth and the allowable range of the impedance ratio determined based on the standard deviation of the depth and the standard deviation of the impedance ratio in accordance with the quality control range (fig. 6B).
As shown in fig. 6B, when the extreme value M of the
Here, the two-dimensional correspondence relationship (distribution of impedance ratios) having such an extremum in the vicinity of the surface of the subject is a case where a significant extremum is found due to the SP processing action applied in the vicinity of the surface of the subject, and therefore, can be preferably used for determining whether the SP processing is good or not. Such an extremum can be found also in surface treatments other than the SP treatment.
Fig. 7 shows the change in the impedance ratio caused by the pellet diameter of the pellet used in the SP treatment. In the same manner as described above, the carburized and quenched chromium molybdenum steel (. phi.40 mm. times.30 mm) was SP-treated with 4-grade pellets (manufactured by New Toyobo Co., Ltd.) having an average particle diameter of 50 μm to 800 μm to obtain a sample. The frequency (use frequency) of the alternating current is set to 10 kHz-20 MHz. Further, based on the standard curve, the penetration depth of the ac magnetic field is calculated from the use frequency. The larger the pellet diameter, the more deep the pellet diameter is, the more extreme (maximum) is found in the direction from the surface, and the larger the value is.
Further, depending on the type of steel material and the surface treatment process, a minimum value may be found as an extreme value.

Next, the area basis is the following: set G according to the reference measurement valueγ1The allowable range W3 of the integrated value of the impedance ratio in the preset frequency range is compared with the integrated value of the

The average value and the standard deviation of the area S calculated similarly from the plurality of reference two-dimensional correspondences (curves of the impedance ratio γ 1) are calculated, and the allowable range W3 of the area S is set in advance in accordance with the quality control range. Next, if the area S calculated for the curve (impedance distribution) of the
The characteristics of each evaluation method are shown below.
The area reference is a reference that can be determined in a wide range in the depth direction. Therefore, in the surface treatment step of performing modification to a deep range such as carburizing treatment, it is possible to determine whether or not appropriate treatment is performed to a predetermined depth, preferably using the zone criterion.
Since the peak criterion is determined based on the coordinates of the extreme value of the
The area basis is as follows: it is possible to detect a slight difference between the evaluation two-dimensional correspondence relationship, which is difficult to be determined by the area criterion or the peak criterion, and the reference two-dimensional correspondence relationship. Further, by setting the range of depth and the impedance that is the bottom side of the curve of the
In step S5, the evaluation of the surface treatment state of the evaluated article is based on the reference measurement value group Gγ1Set up a specified commentValue standard and evaluation measurement value group Gγ2The surface treatment state of the evaluation product was evaluated by comparison. For group G of measurement values based on evaluationγ2The obtained evaluation two-dimensional correspondence is used to evaluate the surface treatment state of the evaluation object by applying at least one of the area standard, the peak standard and the area standard. The evaluation result of the surface treatment state is output to the
In step S6, it is determined whether or not the surface treatment process performed on the evaluation product is satisfactory as described below.
Through the above steps, an evaluation method corresponding to the surface treatment step can be selected to evaluate the surface treatment state taking into consideration the depth direction from the surface of the subject.
In step S4, the characteristics of each determination method are effectively used, and a plurality of evaluation methods can be adopted according to the surface treatment process performed on the evaluation product.
For example, as shown in fig. 9, a determination method in which an area standard is used in a depth region where the impedance ratio is 1 or more and a region standard is used in a deeper depth region can be employed for an evaluation product subjected to the SP treatment after the carburizing treatment. Thus, since it is possible to determine whether the SP treatment process in the shallow region is satisfactory or not on the basis of the area standard and to determine whether the carburizing treatment process in the deep region is satisfactory or not on the basis of the area standard, it is not necessary to evaluate the specimen after the carburizing treatment, and only the specimen having completed all the surface treatments can be evaluated, and a plurality of surface treatment processes can be evaluated at one time.
In addition, for the evaluation product subjected to the SP treatment after the carburizing treatment, an evaluation method in which the determination based on the peak criterion is performed in a shallow region and the area criterion is used in a deep region can be employed. Thus, it is possible to determine whether or not the SP treatment process having an extremum near the surface is satisfactory according to the peak criterion and to determine whether or not the carburizing treatment process in the deep region is satisfactory according to the region criterion, and therefore, it is not necessary to evaluate the specimen after the carburizing treatment, and only the specimens having completed all the surface treatments are evaluated, and it is possible to evaluate a plurality of surface treatment processes at one time.
In addition, examples in which a plurality of surface treatment steps are performed are shown in the order in which the surface treatment is performed.
Carburizing and quenching and tempering treatment → SP treatment → grinding
Carburizing and quenching and tempering treatment → SP treatment (first stage) → SP treatment (second stage) → grinding
Nitriding heat treatment → SP treatment → low temperature annealing
As described above, when a plurality of surface treatment steps are performed, it is possible to evaluate whether or not the surface treatment state in each step is good, separately for each step, by performing measurement only once on the evaluation product.
Here, when a plurality of surface treatment steps are performed, whether or not the surface treatment state in each step is good can be evaluated by a determination method, for example, only by the area standard.
When a plurality of surface treatment steps are performed, in step S6, it is determined whether or not the surface treatment steps are satisfactory based on the evaluation result of the surface treatment state. The determination result is output to the

For example, when the determination is made based on the area criterion, as shown in fig. 10, the determination can be made by comparing the allowable range W1 with the criterion two-dimensional correspondence and the evaluation two-dimensional correspondence superimposed on each other.
