As shown in fig. 1, 2 and 3, an embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for automatically detecting a start point and an end point of lap seam welding of a metal member, including: the system comprises an auxiliary power supply 1, a relay 2 and a PLC 3; the auxiliary power supply 1, the relay 2, the welding part 4 and the workpiece 9 form a small loop, the relay 2, the PLC 3 and the welding machine main body 5 form a large loop, and the PLC 3 can control the welding machine main body 5 to act.

The PLC controller 3 can collect the signals of the on or off of the relay 2, thereby controlling the welding machine main body 5 to walk and weld.

The auxiliary power supply 1 is a voltage-stabilized direct-current power supply which can be 12V, 24V or 36V, and has small power consumption and strong stability.

When the relay 2 is closed, the PLC 3 detects a starting point and controls the welding machine main body 5 to weld the workpiece 9; when the relay 2 is disconnected, the PLC 3 detects a terminal point, controls the welding machine main body 5 to stop welding the workpiece 9, and controls the welding wheel to ascend and the welding machine main body 5 to return.

Finally, it should be noted that the above embodiments are only used for illustrating the technical solution of the present invention and are not limited, and the core of the present invention is to detect whether the workpiece 9 is between the welding wheels by using the loop formed between the auxiliary power supply 1, the relay 2, the workpiece 9 and the welding component 4, so that all the detection devices adopting this way belong to the protection scope of the present invention.
