1. An electric machine comprising a rotor (10) and a stator, the rotor (10) consisting of a stacked rotor body (4) with a laminate (14), the rotor body (4) being fixed on a rotor shaft (1), characterized in that the rotor shaft (1) is knurled (2, 2') over at least a length for cooperation with the rotor body (4), and that the outer diameter (D1) of the rotor shaft (1) is larger than the inner diameter (D4) of the rotor body (4) by a value in the range between 0.05mm and 0.3 mm.

2. An electric machine as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the rotor shaft (1) is knurled (2, 2') by straight knurling.

3. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ridges formed by knurling (2') the rotor shaft (1) are ground.

4. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the laminate (14) is a substantially circular laminate comprising apertures (22; 30) and/or magnets (24).

5. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the laminates (14) are stacked and fixed together to form the rotor body (4).

6. An electrical machine according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the electrical machine is a variable reluctance synchronous machine.

7. The machine according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inner diameter (D4) of the rotor body (4) is smooth.

8. A method of manufacturing an electric machine comprising a rotor and a stator, characterized by performing the steps of:

a) stacking the laminates (14) to form a rotor body (4),

b) knurling (2) a rotor shaft (1) over at least a length for cooperation with the rotor body (4), an outer diameter (D1) of the rotor shaft (1) being larger than an inner diameter (D4) of the rotor body (4) by a value in the range of 0.05mm to 0.3mm,

c) forming the rotor (10) by fitting the rotor shaft (1) into the rotor body (4), and

d) positioning the rotor (10) in the stator.

9. Method according to claim 8, characterized in that the rotor shaft (1) is subjected to straight knurling (2).

10. The method according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the knurled surface (2') of the rotor shaft (1) is ground.

11. The method according to any of the claims 8 to 10, characterized in that the rotor shaft (1) is fitted into the rotor body (4) using a press.

12. The method according to any of claims 8 to 11, characterized in that it comprises a preliminary step of inserting at least one permanent magnet (24) onto at least one of the laminates (14).
