Background

Connector assemblies typically include a plug and a receptacle, which are typically fixedly mounted to a panel of the device, and which are adapted to be plugged together to transmit current or signals through their mating contacts when it is desired to transmit current or signals from within the device or to transmit external current or signals to the device. When the plug is not used in conjunction with the receptacle, the plug and receptacle exposed to the air are susceptible to ingress of water, dust and the like, thereby affecting the performance of the overall connector assembly.

Disclosure of Invention

The technical problem to be solved by the embodiments of the present invention is to provide a connector protection component, which can be used for installing a waterproof component or a dustproof component into a fixing component according to different use environments, so as to achieve waterproof and dustproof effects, and the waterproof component and the dustproof component have compact structures, can be quickly installed with the fixing component, and have high reliability and low cost.

As shown in fig. 1 to 12, the connector protection assembly according to an embodiment of the present invention is used for protecting a socket 60 on an equipment panel 50 and a plug 70 connected to the socket 60, the connector protection assembly includes a fixing assembly 10, the fixing assembly 10 includes a fixing housing 11 with a hollow interior, the fixing housing 11 is detachably connected to the equipment panel 50, and a waterproof assembly 20 or a dustproof assembly 30 is connected to an end of the fixing housing 11 away from the equipment panel 50.

The waterproof assembly 20 includes a sheath housing 21 having a receiving cavity and two open ends, the plug 70 is received in the receiving cavity, the side wall of the sheath housing 21 is fixed to the side wall of the fixing housing 11 by a snap fit, and a sealing member is interposed between the sheath housing 21 and the fixing housing 11 and between the fixing housing 11 and the device panel 50. As shown in fig. 5, the inner side wall of the fixed housing 11 is provided with a convex key 111, the outer side walls of the sheath housing 21 and the dust-proof housing 31 are provided with grooves 40 matched with the convex key 111, the convex key 111 is embedded in the grooves 40 in a clamping manner, the key connection mode can effectively prevent the occurrence of the reverse installation in the use process, and the components are not easily damaged during the simultaneous connection, so that the occurrence of the condition of sealing failure caused by the damage of the components is prevented. The two opposite inner side walls of the fixed housing 11 can be provided with the convex keys 111, and the two opposite outer side walls of the sheath housing 21 and the dust-proof housing 31 are also provided with the grooves 40, so that the connection stability can be further enhanced.

An end surface of the fixed housing 11 facing the sheath housing 21 or the dust-proof housing 31 is provided with an unlocking notch portion 112, as shown in fig. 6, the unlocking notch portion 112 is recessed from the end surface of the dust-proof housing 31 facing the sheath housing 21 or the dust-proof housing 31 toward a direction away from the sheath housing 21 or the dust-proof housing 31, and the unlocking notch portion 112 facilitates an operator to separate the fixed housing 11 from the sheath housing 21 or the dust-proof housing 31. When the gland nut 22 is screwed inwards, the gland nut 22 is in contact with the elastic claw 23, so that the elastic claw 23 deforms along the radial direction of the wire sealing body 24 and extrudes the wire sealing body 24, the force applied by the elastic claw 23 to the wire sealing body 24 makes the elastic claw 23 and the wire sealing body 24 contact more tightly on one hand, thereby enhancing the sealing performance between the wire sealing body 24 and the shell, on the other hand, the wire sealing body 24 can compress the cable 80, the sealing performance between the wire sealing body 24 and the cable 80 is enhanced, and the sealing reliability of the waterproof assembly 20 is ensured by the improvement of the sealing performance at multiple positions.

It should be noted that, because the wire-sealing body 24 compresses the cable 80 along the radial direction, the diameter of the wire-passing hole 241 is smaller than the outer diameter of the cable 80, and in order not to affect the normal wire passing, as shown in fig. 8, in this embodiment, a fracture 242 is formed on the hole wall of the wire-passing hole 241, the fracture 242 extends from the bottom surface of the wire-sealing body 24 to the top surface of the wire-sealing body 24, and in the actual operation, the hole wall of the wire-passing hole 241 can be directly cut at any position along the thickness direction of the hole wall to form the fracture 242, so that the cable 80 can be accommodated in the wire-passing hole 241 through the fracture 242, and at this time, the cable 80 and the hole wall of the wire-passing hole 241 can still keep close contact, and the sealing performance between the wire and the cable 80 is not affected.

In addition, as shown in fig. 11, the top surface of the jacket case 21 is provided with a chamfered portion 211 supporting the main body portion 263, the main body portion 263 is provided with a rounded portion 2631 corresponding to the chamfered portion 211, and the rounded portion 2631 is in contact with the chamfered portion 211 during the inversion of the main body portion 263, thereby making the jacket cover 26 more smoothly opened and closed.

The wire sealing body 24 is further connected with a hanging rope 27, and the hanging rope 27 penetrates through the through hole and is detachably fixed on the sheath shell 21. Specifically, the tail of the hanging rope 27 can be provided with a hanging hole 271, the jacket shell 21 is provided with a protruding portion, and the hanging rope 27 is hung on the protruding portion through the hanging hole 271, so that the whole waterproof assembly 20 forms a whole, and the situation that parts are lost in the using process is prevented. In the assembly process of the waterproof assembly 20, the sheath cover plate 26 and the sheath shell 21 can be covered firstly, then the first sealing ring 25 and the elastic claw 23 are sequentially installed in the sheath shell 21, then the tail part and the head part of the wire sealing body 24 are respectively installed in the corresponding positions of the sheath shell 21, and then the compression nut 22 is screwed in.

The dust-proof assembly 30 of the present embodiment further includes a pull tape 33, and both ends of the pull tape 33 are respectively connected to the dust-proof housing 31 and the flip cover 32, so as to prevent the parts from being lost. As shown in fig. 12, the side wall of the fixed housing 11 is provided with a positioning post 114, the flip cover 32 is provided with a positioning notch 321 adapted to the positioning post 114, and the positioning notch 321 and the positioning post 114 are fastened to each other, so that the flip cover 32 is effectively prevented from being separated from the fixed housing 11 due to bumping and other factors during transportation or use, and the situation of sealing failure occurs.

In addition, two connecting columns 90 are respectively arranged on two opposite side walls of the sheath shell 21 and the dustproof shell 31, the sheath cover plate 26 is hinged to the sheath shell 21 through the two connecting columns 90 on two sides of the sheath shell 21, the flip cover 32 is hinged to the dustproof shell 31 through the two connecting columns 90 on two sides of the dustproof shell 31, and the two connecting columns 90 are different in size, so that the situation that the direction is reversed when the sheath cover plate 26 and the flip cover 32 are installed can be prevented.

In summary, the waterproof assembly 20 or the dustproof assembly 30 can be installed in the fixed assembly 10 according to different use environments, the boot housing 21 and the fixed housing 11 are hermetically connected, and the fixed housing 11 and the equipment panel 50 are hermetically connected, so that a waterproof effect can be achieved on the connector, the dustproof housing 31 and the flip cover 32 can cover the socket 60 on the equipment panel 50, so that a dustproof effect can be achieved, the waterproof assembly 20 and the dustproof assembly 30 are compact in structure, can be quickly installed with the fixed assembly 10, and are high in reliability and low in cost.
