1. An apparatus, comprising:

a first portion and a second portion;

a hinge assembly secured to the first and second portions;

a flexible display secured to the first portion and the second portion;

a support member positioned between the flexible display and the hinge assembly;

a first cord member extending along a first path between the first portion and the hinge assembly and at least partially controlling a length of the device as the first portion and the second portion rotate through a range of orientations; and the number of the first and second groups,

a second tether coupling the hinge assembly and the support member and at least partially controlling a position of the support member relative to the flexible display during the range of orientations.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a biasing element biasing the first portion away from the hinge assembly, and further comprising a first path along which the first cord piece travels.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein, in a first orientation of the first and second portions, the first path is relatively short and the first cord piece allows the biasing element to bias the first portion away from the hinge assembly.

4. The device of claim 3, wherein, in the second orientation of the first and second portions, the first path is relatively long and the first cord piece overcomes the bias and pulls the first portion toward the hinge assembly.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a support member biasing element that biases opposite ends of the support member away from the hinge assembly.

6. The apparatus of claim 5, further comprising a second cord member path along which the second cord member travels.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein, in the first orientation of the first and second portions, the second cord piece path is relatively short and the second cord piece allows the support member biasing element to bias the end of the support member away from the hinge assembly.

8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein at a second orientation of the first and second portions, the second cord piece path is relatively long and the second cord piece overcomes the bias and pulls the opposite end of the support member toward the hinge assembly.

9. An apparatus, comprising:

a first portion and a second portion;

a hinge assembly secured to the first and second portions;

a flexible display secured to the first portion and the second portion;

a support member positioned between the hinge assembly and the flexible display; and the number of the first and second groups,

the hinge assembly is configured to control a length of the device defined by the first portion, the hinge assembly, and the second portion based at least in part on an orientation of the first portion and the second portion, and to control a shape of the support member based at least in part on an orientation of the first portion and the second portion.

10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein the hinge assembly defines a path for a cable member extending between the hinge assembly and the first portion.

11. The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the hinge assembly defines a hinge axis and the path includes a cam positioned about the hinge axis.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the cam changes a length of the path as the first portion rotates about the hinge axis.
