and the information transmission unit is used for outputting the drive download prompt information to the electronic equipment through a wireless network and/or wired connection.

Technical Field

The present invention relates to the field of printing technologies, and in particular, to an image forming apparatus, a drive download prompting method thereof, and a printing system.

Background

At present, when a common user uses an image forming apparatus, the common user may not know that a print driver needs to be downloaded first when the image forming apparatus is used, so that the user needs to perform a cumbersome operation to print a file to be printed if the corresponding print driver is not downloaded when the user uses the image forming apparatus.

When a user wants to download a drive, because the drive installation package of the current image forming apparatus is imprinted in an optical disc, the user needs to acquire the drive installation package from the optical disc for installing the print drive, however, many existing notebook computers do not have an optical disc interface, and only a small number of desktop computers exist, when the user needs to install the print drive for electronic equipment such as the notebook computer, the user needs to read the print drive from the optical disc or search the print drive installation package in a special website to download and install the print drive, the installation procedure is cumbersome and troublesome, and the existing drive is stored in the optical disc, and extra cost for imprinting the optical disc is also needed.

Disclosure of Invention

The embodiment of the invention provides an image forming device, a drive download prompting method thereof and a printing system, which can realize the quick download of a drive without installing a drive program through an optical disk, save the cost and improve the experience of a user.

In a first aspect, the present application provides a method for prompting drive download of an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

the image forming device generates a trigger instruction, wherein the trigger instruction is used for indicating output of drive downloading prompt information;

the image forming apparatus outputs the drive download prompting information so that a user downloads and installs a drive installation package based on the drive download prompting information.

generating a trigger instruction when the image forming device is started for the first time; or

In a fifth aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a document printing system, including an image forming apparatus and a server, where the image forming apparatus is connected to the server through a wireless network, the server stores a driver installation package and driver download prompting information, the image forming apparatus includes a memory, a processor, and a computer program stored in the memory and executable on the processor, and the processor implements the driver download method of the image forming apparatus according to the first aspect when executing the computer program.

Compared with the prior art, the method has the following beneficial effects:

1. according to the image forming device and the drive download prompting method, the storage medium, the computer device and the printing system, the trigger instruction is generated through the trigger condition, so that the image forming device can receive the sent drive download prompting information and output the drive download prompting information to a user, the user can download and install the drive installation package according to the download prompting information, the problem that the user does not know how to install the drive or how to download the drive can be effectively solved, the drive download and installation programs are simplified, and the user experience is improved.

2. For better understanding of the technical solutions of the present invention, the following detailed descriptions of the embodiments of the present invention are provided with reference to the accompanying drawings.

The image forming apparatus 100 is used to perform image forming operations such as generating, printing, receiving, and transmitting image data, and examples of the image forming apparatus include: an inkjet printer, a laser printer, an LED (Light Emitting Diode) printer, a copier, a scanner, or a multifunction Peripheral (MFP) that performs the above functions in a single device.

The image forming apparatus 100 and the electronic device 300 may be connected by a wireless network and/or a wire, thereby realizing data communication. Wireless networks can be classified into Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWANs), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), and the like, and the Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWANs) are based on mobile communication infrastructures, such as 2G networks, 3G networks, 4G networks, and 5G networks, and are responsible for communication services in all areas of a country or a city. The wireless lan is responsible for short-range access to a network with wireless communication access function, such as Wi-Fi (wireless communication technology). The electronic device 300 includes, but is not limited to, a Personal Computer (PC), a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), a wireless handheld device, a Tablet Computer (Tablet Computer), a mobile phone, and the like. For example: the image forming apparatus 100 may be connected to the electronic device 300 through a Universal Serial Bus (USB), and the electronic device 300 and the image forming apparatus 100 may be connected in a manner that the electronic device 300 and the image forming apparatus 100 are connected together in a specific lan, which may be established by using a gateway device such as a router. When the electronic device 300 installs the correct driver, the operating system of the electronic device 300 can control the image forming apparatus 100 to perform the image forming operation.

The image forming apparatus 100 and the server 200 may be connected via a wireless network, thereby realizing data communication. Specifically, the image forming apparatus 100 includes a wireless network module 110, where the wireless network module 110 may be a 2G network communication module, a 3G network communication module, a 4G network communication module, a 5G network communication module, or a Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) module, and the like, and the wireless network module is not limited herein, and the wireless network module can be used for transmitting and receiving information, and can also be connected to a network to download files. In another embodiment, the wireless network may be a cloud service protocol defined by the image forming apparatus manufacturer itself, and may be connected to the server. The server 200 may be a computing device such as a desktop computer, a notebook, a palm top computer, and a cloud server. The server 200 runs faster, has higher load and is more expensive than a common computer, and provides calculation or application services for other clients (such as mobile terminals, smart phones, ATM and other terminals, even large equipment such as train systems and the like) in the network.

Since the driver installation package of the current image forming apparatus 100 is imprinted in the optical disc, the user needs to obtain the driver installation package from the optical disc for installing the print driver, however, many existing notebook computers do not have an optical disc interface, and only a small number of desktop computers exist, when the user needs to install the print driver for the electronic device such as the notebook computer, the user needs to read the print driver from the optical disc or search the print driver installation package in a special website to download and install the print driver, the installation procedure is cumbersome and troublesome, and the existing driver is stored in the optical disc, which also needs additional cost for imprinting the optical disc.

In order to solve the problem, the present application provides a method for prompting driver download of an image forming apparatus, and fig. 2 is a schematic flowchart of the method for prompting driver download of the image forming apparatus according to the embodiment of the present application, and as shown in fig. 2, the method includes:

s10, the image forming device generates a trigger instruction, and the trigger instruction is used for instructing to output drive download prompting information;

s20, the image forming device receives the drive download prompt information sent by the server;

s30, the image forming apparatus outputs the drive download prompting information so that the user performs download and installation of the drive installation package based on the drive download prompting information.

In the above scheme, when the image forming apparatus generates the trigger instruction through the trigger condition, and sends the trigger instruction to the server, the image forming apparatus can trigger the server to send the drive download prompting information and receive the drive download prompting information sent by the server, and output the drive download prompting information to the user through various ways, so that the user can download and install the drive installation package according to the drive download prompting information, the problem that the user does not know how to install the drive or how to download the drive can be effectively solved, the drive download and installation programs are simplified, and the user experience is improved.

A detailed description will be given below of a specific technical solution of the drive download presenting method of the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment.

S10, the image forming apparatus generates a trigger instruction for instructing output of the drive download instruction information.

In the actual application process, the image forming device can generate a trigger instruction under a specific trigger condition, the trigger instruction is sent to the server through the wireless network, and the server sends the latest drive downloading prompt information to the image forming device after receiving the trigger instruction. Specifically, the drive download prompting message may include at least one of a two-dimensional code, a drive download link, and a barcode, which is not limited herein. The two-dimensional code is obtained by compiling the drive download link through a two-dimensional code compiler, and the barcode is obtained by compiling the drive download link through a barcode compiler.

Specifically, the specific trigger conditions include the following:

the first trigger condition is to generate a trigger instruction when the image forming apparatus first establishes a connection with a server via a wireless network.

Specifically, after the image forming apparatus is first connected to the wireless network, a network connection may be established with the server based on the access address of the server. In a specific embodiment, the wireless network may be a mobile communication network, such as a 2G network, a 3G network, a 4G network, a 5G network, or a Wi-Fi (wireless communication technology) local area network, and is not limited herein.

The manner of connecting the image forming apparatus to the network is of two types:

the first type is that the image forming apparatus directly establishes a connection with a router to access a network, and includes that a user directly inputs a network name and a password of the router as a hot spot on a user interface of the image forming apparatus to access the image forming apparatus to the router; or when the image forming device and the router are respectively provided with the WPS buttons, the user presses the WPS button on the image forming device and the WPS button on the router, so that the image forming device and the router both enter a WPS pairing mode, and when the WPS button and the WPS button are successfully paired, the image forming device can be connected to the router.

The second type is that the image forming apparatus accesses the network through a third-party device, which may be an electronic device, including the following ways:

1. the image forming apparatus first establishes a wired or wireless connection with the electronic device, and then the electronic device transmits a network name and password information of the router to the image forming apparatus so that the image forming apparatus is connected to the router, i.e., the image forming apparatus is connected to the network. Further, there are many ways of establishing a connection between the electronic device and the image forming apparatus, for example, the electronic device may establish a connection with the image forming apparatus based on a network name and a password of the image forming apparatus when the image forming apparatus is in a softap (wireless soft AP) mode, may establish a bluetooth connection between the image forming apparatus and the electronic device, may establish a wired connection between the image forming apparatus and the electronic device, or may establish a Near Field Communication (NFC) connection between the image forming apparatus and the mobile terminal, which is not limited herein.

2. The driver downloading prompt information is directly sent to the image forming device through the server, when a user needs to download the driver installation package, the user does not need to access the driver downloading link through an optical disk or manually, the downloading path of the driver installation package can be directly found according to the driver downloading prompt information provided by the image forming device, the downloading efficiency of the driver installation package can be improved, and the user experience is improved.

The second trigger condition is to generate a trigger command when the image forming apparatus is first started.

Specifically, the user can control the start of the image forming apparatus by a power switch key of the image forming apparatus, and when the image forming apparatus is started for the first time, a processor of the image forming apparatus generates a trigger instruction. The first startup here refers to the first startup after the image forming apparatus is shipped from the factory.

And the third trigger condition is that when the image forming device detects that the wireless network module is inserted or the wireless network is activated, a trigger instruction is generated.

When the processor of the image forming apparatus detects that a wireless network module is inserted or a wireless network is activated, a trigger instruction is generated. firstly, when the image forming apparatus detects whether the driver installation package needs to be updated, the server needs to determine whether the driver installation package with the latest version exists and issue a reminder to the image forming apparatus that the driver installation package needs to be updated, which specifically includes the following steps:

the server acquires the latest version information of the first driver installation package from a specific website such as an official website downloaded by the image forming apparatus print driver;

the server acquires version information of a second drive installation package installed on the current electronic equipment and uploaded by the image forming device;

the server judges whether the version information of the first drive installation package is the same as that of the second drive installation package;

specifically, whether the second driver installation package needs to be updated may be determined by comparing the version numbers of the first driver installation package and the second driver installation package, and certainly, the version information may also include other information used for indicating the size of the current version, which is not limited herein.

If not, the server determines that a second driver installation package installed on the electronic equipment needs to be updated, and the server sends a prompt for the driver installation package to be updated to the image forming device;

In one embodiment, the download prompting information may be displayed by a display panel of the image forming apparatus. After the drive download prompting information is displayed on the display panel of the image forming device, a user can select to manually download the print drive according to the drive download prompting information or click an automatic download drive button displaying a drive download prompting information interface on the display panel based on own will, so that the image forming device automatically obtains the print drive from the server and transmits the print drive to the electronic equipment.

The specific implementation mode is as follows:

The user can visually see the drive download prompting information through the display panel on the image forming apparatus. The second method comprises the following steps: the user selects the automatic download drive installation package, and displays an interface on the interface of the image forming apparatus whether to automatically download the drive installation package from the server.

The downloaded drive installation package can be ensured to be correct, and the situation that the sent drive installation package has potential safety hazards and is not complete in function is avoided, so that the installed drive installation package cannot be used. The driver installation package is obtained from the server for installation, the upgrade driver installation package can be downloaded remotely, the driver installation package is not required to be stored in a specific storage device (such as an optical disc), cost and resources are saved, the upgraded latest driver installation package can be directly sent to the electronic device, the driver installation package is not required to be manually searched and downloaded, the Internet of things of the image forming device can be realized, the development of the Internet is met, and the convenience in use is brought to a user.

In a specific embodiment, the specific verification process of the driver installation package includes the following steps:

generating a check code after the data frame to be sent, wherein the check code can enable the newly generated data frame to be divided by a preset numerical value;

generating a new data frame and sending the new data frame to a receiving end;

the receiving end receives a new data frame and divides the new data frame by a preset numerical value;

if the result has no remainder, the new data frame is confirmed to be error-free; if the result has a remainder, the new data frame is determined to be erroneous.

Specifically, as shown in fig. 7, S80 includes the following steps:

s81, the image forming apparatus sends a second transmission request to the electronic device, the second transmission request being an instruction for a user to instruct transmission of the driver installation package;

In a specific embodiment, as shown in fig. 8, the second transmission request may be generated by the user by clicking a control on a display panel in the image forming apparatus. In the actual drive installation process, a user can click a control on a display panel of the image forming device to send the drive installation package to the electronic equipment.

The image forming device automatically acquires the drive installation package from the server, and when a user needs to drive the installation package, the user only needs to select the automatic installation button to acquire the drive installation package from the server without manually operating, so that the time of the user is saved, and the installation efficiency is improved.

The method fully considers the condition that the user computer does not have the optical disk interface, does not need to install the drive of the image forming device through the optical disk, reduces the steps of downloading and installing the drive, and improves the user experience.

In a second aspect, the present application provides an image forming apparatus, as shown in fig. 1, comprising:

a trigger module 120, configured to generate a trigger instruction, where the trigger instruction is used to instruct to output a driver download prompt message;

the wireless network module 110 is configured to receive a driver download prompting message sent by a server;

In the above scheme, when the image forming apparatus generates the trigger instruction through the trigger condition, and sends the trigger instruction to the server, the image forming apparatus can trigger the server to send the drive download prompting information and receive the drive download prompting information sent by the server, and output the drive download prompting information to the user through various ways, so that the user can download and install the drive installation package according to the drive download prompting information, the problem that the user does not know how to install the drive or how to download the drive can be effectively solved, the drive download and installation programs are simplified, and the user experience is improved.

In the actual application process, the image forming device can generate a trigger instruction under certain trigger conditions, the trigger instruction is sent to the server through the wireless network, and the server sends the latest drive downloading prompt information to the image forming device after receiving the trigger instruction. Specifically, the drive download prompting message includes at least one of a two-dimensional code, a drive download link, and a barcode. It should be noted that the two-dimensional code is obtained by compiling the drive download link through a two-dimensional code compiler, and the barcode is obtained by compiling the drive download link through a barcode compiler.

The first trigger condition is to generate a trigger instruction when the image forming apparatus first establishes a connection with a server via a wireless network.

Specifically, after the image forming apparatus is first connected to the wireless network, a network connection may be established with the server based on the access address of the server. In a specific embodiment, the wireless network may be a mobile communication network, such as a 2G network, a 3G network, a 4G network, a 5G network, or a Wi-Fi (wireless communication technology) local area network, and is not limited herein.

The manner of connecting the image forming apparatus to the network is of two types:

the first type is that the image forming apparatus directly establishes a connection with a router to access a network, and includes that a user directly inputs a network name and a password of the router as a hot spot on a user interface of the image forming apparatus to access the image forming apparatus to the router; or when the image forming device and the router are respectively provided with the WPS buttons, the user presses the WPS button on the image forming device and the WPS button on the router, so that the image forming device and the router both enter a WPS pairing mode, and when the WPS button and the WPS button are successfully paired, the image forming device can be connected to the router.

The second type is that the image forming apparatus accesses the network through a third-party device, which may be an electronic device, including the following ways:

1. the image forming apparatus first establishes a wired or wireless connection with the electronic device, and then the electronic device transmits a network name and password information of the router to the image forming apparatus so that the image forming apparatus is connected to the router, i.e., the image forming apparatus is connected to the network. Further, there are many ways of establishing a connection between the electronic device and the image forming apparatus, for example, the electronic device may establish a connection with the image forming apparatus based on a network name and a password of the image forming apparatus when the image forming apparatus is in a softap (wireless soft AP) mode, may establish a bluetooth connection between the image forming apparatus and the electronic device, may establish a wired connection between the image forming apparatus and the electronic device, or may establish a Near Field Communication (NFC) connection between the image forming apparatus and the mobile terminal, which is not limited herein.

2. And controlling the image forming device to enter a wireless promiscuous monitoring promiscuous mode, and monitoring broadcast information which is sent by other equipment and contains the network name and the password information of the router by the image forming device so as to be connected to the router after the network name and the password information of the router are acquired.

It is understood that, after the image forming apparatus and the server establish a connection for the first time, the server receives a trigger instruction of the image forming apparatus, and the server sends a drive download prompting message to the image forming apparatus. The image forming device can store the drive download information in the memory and then output the drive download prompt information; of course, the image forming apparatus may directly output the drive download instruction information. The driver downloading prompt information is directly sent to the image forming device through the server, when a user needs to download the driver installation package, the user does not need to access the driver downloading link through an optical disk or manually, the downloading path of the driver installation package can be directly found according to the driver downloading prompt information provided by the image forming device, the downloading efficiency of the driver installation package can be improved, and the user experience is improved.

In the second trigger condition, the trigger module 120 generates a trigger instruction when the image forming apparatus is first started.

Specifically, the user may control the image forming apparatus to start up by a power switch of the image forming apparatus, and the processor 140 of the image forming apparatus generates a trigger instruction when the image forming apparatus starts up for the first time. The first startup here refers to the first startup after the image forming apparatus is shipped from the factory.

In a third trigger condition, the trigger module 120 generates a trigger instruction when the image forming apparatus detects that a wireless network module is inserted or a wireless network is activated.

When the processor of the image forming apparatus detects that a wireless network module is inserted or a wireless network is activated, a trigger instruction is generated. The wireless network module may be a wireless network module, such as a 2G network communication module, a 3G network communication module, a 4G network communication module, a 5G network communication module, or a Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) module, installed in the image forming apparatus, and when the image forming apparatus needs to be activated by a network, etc., which is not limited herein.

A fourth trigger condition is that the trigger module 120 generates a trigger instruction when the processor 140 of the image forming apparatus detects a change in the placement position of itself. The method specifically comprises the following steps:

In a fifth trigger condition, when the image forming apparatus detects that the driver installation package is to be updated, the trigger module 120 generates a trigger instruction. The method specifically comprises the following steps:

firstly, when the image forming apparatus detects whether the driver installation package needs to be updated, the server needs to determine whether the driver installation package with the latest version exists and issue a reminder to the image forming apparatus that the driver installation package needs to be updated, which specifically includes the following steps:

the server acquires version information of a second drive installation package installed on the current electronic equipment and uploaded by the image forming device;

specifically, whether the second driver installation package needs to be updated may be determined by comparing the version numbers of the first driver installation package and the second driver installation package, and certainly, the version information may also include other information used for indicating the size of the current version, which is not limited herein.

If not, the server determines that a second driver installation package installed on the electronic equipment needs to be updated, and the server sends a prompt for the driver installation package to be updated to the image forming device;

the image forming device receives a prompt that the driver installation package is to be updated and sent by the server, determines that the driver installation package is to be updated, and generates a trigger instruction.

In a specific implementation process, the server may send a to-be-updated reminder of the driver installation package to the image forming apparatus by using a wireless network, and the image forming apparatus may also receive the to-be-updated reminder of the driver installation package by using the wireless network.

After the output module 130 outputs the driver download prompting information, the user can quickly download and install the driver installation package according to the driver download prompting information through the driver download prompting information output by the image forming apparatus.

In one embodiment, the download prompting information may be displayed by a display panel of the image forming apparatus. Further, the processor 140 of the image forming apparatus is further configured to check the driver installation package and determine whether the driver installation package stored in the memory has an error.

It can be understood that when the driver installation package stored in the memory is determined to be correct, the driver installation package stored in the memory can be sent to the electronic device, so that the electronic device can conveniently install the driver. And when the driver installation package stored in the memory is determined to be wrong, automatically clearing the driver installation package in the memory, and retransmitting a driver downloading request to the server so as to download the driver installation package again. It is to be understood that when it is determined that the driver installation package stored in the memory 150 is error-free, the driver installation package stored in the memory 150 may be transmitted to the electronic device to facilitate driver installation of the electronic device. When it is determined that the driver installation package stored in the memory 150 is faulty, the driver installation package in the memory 150 is automatically cleared, and a driver download request is re-sent to the server for re-downloading. Further, after verifying the driver installation package and determining that the driver installation package stored in the memory 150 is error-free, the image forming apparatus transmits the driver installation package to the electronic device through a wireless network and/or a wired connection. When the driver installation package is sent, the driver installation package can be sent through a USB interface, a wired network, a wireless network module, and the like, and only the image forming apparatus needs to be in communication connection with the electronic device, which is not described herein again.

In the actual drive installation process, a user can click a control on a display panel of the image forming device to send the drive installation package to the electronic equipment.

The image forming device automatically acquires the drive installation package from the server, and when a user needs to drive the installation package, the user only needs to select the automatic installation button to acquire the drive installation package from the server without manually operating, so that the time of the user is saved, and the installation efficiency is improved.

The method fully considers the condition that the user computer does not have the optical disk interface, does not need to install the drive of the image forming device through the optical disk, reduces the steps of downloading and installing the drive, and improves the user experience.
