the upper end of the display surface (43a) of the meter (43) is higher than the upper end of the display surface (61a) of the display unit (61).

4. The straddle-type vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 3,

a display surface (61a) of the display unit (61) is disposed below the lowermost end (23a) of the operating handle (23).

5. The straddle-type vehicle according to any one of claims 1 to 4,

the windshield stay (51) extends to a position rearward of an upper end of a display surface (43a) of the meter (43).

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a straddle-type vehicle.

Background

Conventionally, the following configurations have been disclosed: a speedometer is disposed in a recess formed in a grip cover covering an upper portion of a handlebar grip, and a warning lamp unit is disposed separately from the speedometer (see, for example, patent document 1).

Problems to be solved by the invention

Recently, it is desired to enrich the vehicle information displayed on the meter, and the meter tends to be large. Even if the vehicle information is enriched in this way, it is desirable to suppress the size increase of the vehicle front portion while ensuring the visibility.

The invention aims to provide a straddle-type vehicle, which can ensure visual confirmation and restrain the enlargement of the front part of the vehicle equipped with an instrument even if the instrument is filled with vehicle information.

Means for solving the problems

This specification includes all the contents of the patent application japanese patent application 2019-034025, filed in japan on 27.2.2019.

A straddle-type vehicle having a windshield (42), a windshield stay (51) for fixing the windshield (42) to a vehicle body, and an operating handle (23) for steering a front wheel (13), wherein a meter (43) for displaying vehicle information is disposed behind the windshield stay (51) to which the windshield (42) is attached, a display unit (61) which is configured separately from the meter (43) and displays vehicle information and the like is disposed between the operating handle (23) and the meter (43), and a display surface (61a) of the display unit (61) is disposed above an extension line (43d) of the display surface (43a) of the meter (43) when viewed from a side of the vehicle.

In the above configuration, an inclination angle of the display surface (61a) of the display unit (61) with respect to the horizontal line (98) may be the same as or smaller than an inclination angle of the display surface (43a) of the meter (43) with respect to the horizontal line (98).

In the above configuration, an upper end of the display surface (43a) of the meter (43) may be higher than an upper end of the display surface (61a) of the display unit (61).

In the above configuration, the display surface (61a) of the display unit (61) may be disposed below the lowermost end (23a) of the operation knob (23).

In the above configuration, the windshield stay (51) may extend to a position rearward of an upper end of the display surface (43a) of the meter (43).

ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS OF INVENTION

In the saddle-ride type vehicle, a meter for displaying vehicle information is disposed behind a windshield stay to which a windshield is attached, and a display unit configured separately from the meter and displaying vehicle information and the like is disposed between an operation handle and the meter.

In the above configuration, since the inclination angle of the display surface of the display unit with respect to the horizontal line is the same as or smaller than the inclination angle of the display surface of the meter with respect to the horizontal line, both the meter and the warning lamp unit can be visually confirmed without discomfort.

In the above configuration, since the upper end of the display surface of the meter is higher than the upper end of the display surface of the display unit, the meter that displays a large number of items of vehicle information such as vehicle speed that are visually recognized during driving of the vehicle can be arranged more prominently, and the visibility can be improved.

In the above configuration, since the display surface of the display unit is disposed below the lowermost end of the operating handle, the display unit can be disposed in the vicinity of the operating handle without interfering with the operating handle even when the operating handle is turned.

In the above configuration, since the windshield stay extends to the rear of the upper end of the display surface of the meter, the windshield stay can be provided with a meter shade function, visibility of the meter can be improved, and the number of parts can be reduced.

In the above configuration, since the display unit is covered with the display unit cover from above and the display unit cover is fixed to the vehicle body cover, it is not necessary to use an unnecessary stay or the like around the handle by fixing the display unit to the vehicle body cover via the display unit cover, and therefore, the handle periphery can be made compact and compact to improve the appearance, and the visibility of the display surface of the display unit can be improved.

In the above configuration, the upper end surface of the display unit is disposed offset downward with respect to the lower end surface of the meter in the direction in which the display surface of the meter extends, and the display unit cover is disposed in the space between the display unit and the meter, so that the upper end surface of the display unit and the lower end surface of the meter are disposed as close as possible, whereby visibility can be improved, and the meter can be covered from below by the display unit cover, whereby water can be prevented from directly entering the meter.

In the above configuration, since the display unit is fixed to the vehicle body cover via the display unit cover, the display unit cover can also serve as a fixing member for fixing the display lamp unit to the vehicle body cover, and the number of parts can be reduced to suppress cost.

In the above configuration, since the display unit is a warning lamp unit, it is possible to cope with a vehicle state requiring emergency response by displaying a warning lamp such as vehicle information.

Detailed Description

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the description, the directions of the front, rear, left, right, and up and down are the same as the directions of the vehicle body of the motorcycle 10 unless otherwise specified. In addition, reference symbol FR shown in the drawings indicates the front of the vehicle body, reference symbol UP indicates the upper side of the vehicle body, and reference symbol LH indicates the left side of the vehicle body.

Fig. 1 is a left side view of a motorcycle 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention.

The motorcycle 10 is a scooter-type straddle-type vehicle including a frame, a front fork 12, a front wheel 13, a power unit 14, a rear wheel 16, and a seat 17.

The front fork 12 is supported at a front end portion of the vehicle body frame so as to be able to steer, and the front wheel 13 is supported at a lower end portion of the front fork 12 via an axle 21. An operating handle 23 is supported by an upper end portion of the front fork 12.

The power unit 14 is supported at a lower portion of the vehicle body frame so as to be vertically swingable, and the rear wheel 16 is supported at a rear end portion of the power unit 14 via an axle 25. A tandem seat 17 is disposed above the rear portion of the vehicle body frame.

A rear cushion unit 27 serving as a cushion is mounted on a rear end portion of the power unit 14 and a rear portion of the vehicle frame.

The frame is covered by a body cover 30. The vehicle body cover 30 includes a front cover 31, a front inner cover 32, a seat front cover 33, a pair of left and right leg shields 34, a pair of left and right step plates 36, a pair of left and right body covers 37, and a rear undercover 38.

The front cover 31 covers the front portion of the vehicle body frame from the front and both sides. A headlamp 41 is disposed on the front cover 31, and a movable windshield 42 is disposed above an upper portion of the front cover 31. A meter 43 is disposed below the windshield 42 and above the front cover 31.

The front cover 31 includes a pair of left and right front covers 31a and a laterally long front cover 31b arranged to extend over front surfaces of the left and right front covers 31 a.

A pair of left and right openings are formed in the front cover 31b, and the headlamps 41 are exposed through the left and right openings.

The front inner cover 32 covers the front of the frame from behind. The seat front cover 33 extends from below the front portion of the seat 17 to the front cover 31 side. The left and right leg shields 34 cover the legs of an occupant seated in the seat 17 from the front. The left and right foot plates 36 are portions for the occupant to put his or her feet thereon. The left and right body covers 37 extend rearward from below the seat front cover 33. An armrest 44 to be gripped by a fellow passenger is disposed above the rear portions of the left and right body covers 37. The rear undercover 38 is disposed below the left and right body covers 37, and covers the vehicle body rear portion above the rear wheel 16 from below.

The front wheel 13 is covered with a front fender 46 from above, and the rear wheel 16 is covered with a rear fender 47 from above.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a front portion of the motorcycle 10 as viewed obliquely from above and rearward, and fig. 3 is a perspective view of the front portion of the motorcycle 10 as viewed obliquely from above and to the left of fig. 2.

As shown in fig. 2 and 3, a windshield stay 51 for fixing the windshield 42 to the vehicle body side is disposed below the windshield 42.

A meter 43 including a speedometer, a tachometer, and the like is disposed inside the windshield stay 51. A part of the windshield stay 51 also serves as a meter shade plate for covering the meter 43 from above to improve the visibility of the meter 43.

The operating handle 23 is attached to an upper plate 53 provided at an upper end portion of the front fork 12 via a handle bar bracket 54.

The handlebar holder 54 is composed of a pair of left and right lower holders 56, an upper holder 57, and a plurality of bolts 58.

The left and right lower brackets 56 are disposed on the upper plate 53 side. The upper bracket 57 holds the operating handle 23 by the left and right lower brackets 56. The plurality of bolts 58 fasten the left and right lower brackets 56, the upper bracket 57, and the operating handle 23 to the upper plate 53 in a state where the operating handle 23 is sandwiched between the left and right lower brackets 56 and the upper bracket 57.

A warning lamp unit 61 including various warning lamps such as vehicle information is disposed between the meter 43 and the operating handle 23. The warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the operation handle 23.

Thus, the meter 43 is provided separately from the warning lamp unit 61. The warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the meter 43 as viewed from the driver side, and the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed at a position closer to the driver than the meter 43.

The warning lamp unit 61 is covered by a warning lamp unit cover 64 attached to the left and right front covers 31a with a plurality of screws 63.

Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a front portion of a vehicle body of the motorcycle 10, which is taken along a vehicle body center line passing through a center in a vehicle width direction. Fig. 5 is an enlarged view of a main portion of fig. 4.

As shown in fig. 4 and 5, the motorcycle 10 includes a frame 11 serving as a skeleton. The frame 11 includes a head pipe 66 constituting a front end portion thereof.

The front fork 12 includes a steering shaft 67, an upper tube 68, and an upper plate 53.

The steering shaft 67 is rotatably inserted into the head pipe 66. The upper pipe 68 is fastened to an upper end portion of the steering shaft 67 by a bolt 71 and a nut 72. The upper plate 53 is mounted to an upper end of the upper tube 68.

A projecting piece 74 projecting forward is fixed to the front portion of the head pipe 66, and a front bracket 75 is attached to the projecting piece 74 by a plurality of bolts 76.

The front bracket 75 supports the headlight 41 at the front and supports the windshield 42 and the meter 43 at the upper.

Specifically, the windshield 42 and the meter 43 are attached to the front bracket 75 via the windshield stay 51.

The windshield stay 51 is fixed to the vehicle body side (specifically, the front bracket 75).

The windshield stay 51 integrally includes a front inclined portion 81a, a pair of left and right vertical extending portions 81b, a rear wall portion 81c, a brim portion 81d, and a pair of left and right side wall portions 81e (only one side wall portion 81e is illustrated in fig. 3).

The front inclined portion 81a is inclined rearward and upward, and left and right lower ends of the front end portion are attached to the front bracket 75 so as to protrude downward. The left and right vertically extending portions 81b are provided at the rear end of the front inclined portion 81a so as to extend vertically. Guide holes 81g extending vertically are formed in the left and right vertically extending portions 81b, and the lower end portions of the left and right vertically extending portions 53b are attached to the front bracket 92.

The rear wall portion 81c is a portion connecting the left and right vertically extending portions 81b in the vehicle width direction, and is inclined rearward and downward, and the meter 43 is attached by a plurality of screws 84. Thereby, the display surface 43a of the meter 43 is directed obliquely rearward and upward.

The eaves 81d extends rearward and upward from the upper portion of the rear wall 81c, and a rear end 81h of the eaves 81d is located rearward of an upper end 43c (see fig. 5) of the display surface 43a of the meter 43. This can suppress the scenery, sky, etc. around the vehicle from being reflected on the display surface 43a of the meter 43, and can improve the visibility of the meter 43.

The left and right side wall portions 81e extend downward from the front side portions of the eaves portion 53d behind the left and right vertically extending portions 53 b.

A warning lamp unit 61 is disposed between the meter 43 and the operating handle 23, and a warning lamp unit cover 64 that covers the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed between the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61.

The warning lamp unit 61 is attached to the inside of the warning lamp unit cover 64, and the warning lamp unit cover 64 is attached to the left and right front covers 31 a.

The lowest lowermost end 23a of the operating handle 23 is disposed at the center in the vehicle width direction, and when a horizontal line 95 extending forward from the lowermost end 23a is drawn, the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the horizontal line 95. That is, the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the lowermost end 23 a.

As shown in fig. 5, the meter 43 is attached to the rear wall portion 81c of the windshield stay 51. The warning lamp unit 61 is attached to the vehicle body cover 30 (see fig. 3) via a warning lamp unit cover 64, and more specifically, to the left and right front side covers 31a (see fig. 3).

When the inclination angle of the display surface 43a of the meter 43 with respect to the horizontal line 98 is θ 1 and the inclination angle of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 with respect to the horizontal line 98 is θ 2, the inclination angle θ 2 is equal to the inclination angle θ 1 or smaller than the inclination angle θ 1(θ 2 ≦ θ 1).

Further, when a line 96 perpendicular to the display surface 43a of the meter 43 is drawn, a straight line 101 parallel to the perpendicular line 96 is drawn through the lower end surface 43b of the meter 43, and when a straight line 102 parallel to the perpendicular line 96 is drawn through the upper end surface 61b of the warning lamp unit 61, the straight line 102 is displaced downward by an offset amount δ from the straight line 101.

Further, a warning lamp unit cover 64 is disposed in a space 103 (specifically, a space between the straight line 101 and the straight line 102) between the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61.

The upper end 43c of the display surface 43a of the meter 43 is higher than the upper end 61c of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61.

As described above, by separating the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61 and disposing the warning lamp unit 61 at the position behind the meter 43 in the direction perpendicular to the display surface 43a of the meter 43, the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 6 can be disposed so as not to overlap vertically. As a result, the vehicle body front portion can be downsized.

Further, since the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed in the space 100 between the operating handle 23 and the meter 43, the space 100 in the front portion of the vehicle body can be effectively used. Further, the meter 43 can be covered from below by the warning lamp unit cover 64, and the meter 43 can be protected from water splash or the like splashed from the road surface.

Fig. 6 is a front view showing the warning lamp unit 61. Fig. 7 is a perspective view of the warning lamp unit 61 of fig. 6 viewed from obliquely above from behind.

As shown in fig. 6 and 7, the warning lamp unit 61 includes a unit case 104 and a display unit 105 provided in the unit case 104. The display unit 105 includes a display surface 61 a.

The unit case 104 includes a wide portion 104a formed such that the other end in the longitudinal direction is wider vertically than the one end in the longitudinal direction, a front case 107 and a rear case 108 divided into two parts in the front-rear direction, and a plurality of screws 109 for fastening the front case 107 and the rear case 108, respectively.

A laterally long display surface 61a is provided on the front surface of the front housing 107.

The rear case 108 is coupled to the rear portion of the front case 107, and includes a connector portion 108a formed in a portion that becomes the rear surface of the wide portion 104a, and fastened portions 108b, 108c, and 108d fastened to the warning lamp unit cover 64 (see fig. 3). Here, the connector portion 108a is a straight connector, and thus the assembling property can be improved.

The connector portion 108a is connected to a connector 112 (see fig. 9) of a harness 111 (see fig. 9) for supplying data displayed on the display surface 61a from the outside.

The fastened portions 108b, 108c, and 108d are each opened with a screw insertion hole 108e through which a fastening screw passes.

Further, since the connector portion 108a is disposed at a position outside the display portion 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 in the vehicle width direction, a space required in the vertical direction of the display portion 61a is reduced, and the distance between the meter 43 (see fig. 4) and the operation knob 23 (see fig. 4) can be made close.

Fig. 8 is a plan view showing the warning lamp unit cover 64.

As shown in fig. 3 and 8, the warning lamp unit cover 64 covers the warning lamp unit 61 from above (see fig. 6).

The warning lamp unit cover 64 is composed of a cover center portion 64a constituting a vehicle width direction center portion, and a pair of left and right cover side portions 64b, 64c integrally provided on the vehicle width direction outer side of the cover center portion 64 a.

The cover center portion 64a is constituted by a cover upper portion 64d that covers the upper side of the warning lamp unit 61 and is disposed below the meter 43 (see fig. 3), and a cover rear portion 64e that is bent from the rear edge of the cover upper portion 64d and extends downward.

The cover upper portion 64d includes a bulging portion 64f, an inclined portion 64g, a pair of left and right bulging portion side portions 64h, a pair of left and right bulging portion edge portions 64j, a pair of left and right inclined portion edge portions 64k, a rear flat portion 64m, and a pair of left and right pair of inner side wall portions 64 n.

The bulge portion 64f bulges upward. The inclined portion 64g is inclined rearward and obliquely downward from the rear edge of the bulging portion 64f, and a window portion 64p is formed to expose the display surface 61a (see fig. 3) of the warning lamp unit 61 (see fig. 3).

The left and right bulging portion side portions 64h extend downward from side edges on both sides of the bulging portion 64 f. The left and right bulging portion edge portions 64j are front-rear long portions extending outward in the vehicle width direction from the lower edges of the left and right bulging portion side portions 64h, respectively.

The left and right inclined portion edge portions 64k are longitudinally long portions extending outward in the vehicle width direction from side edges on both sides of the inclined portion 64 g. The rear flat portion 64m is a flat portion extending rearward from the rear edge of each of the inclined portion 64g and the left and right inclined portion edge portions 64 k.

The left and right inner side wall portions 64n extend obliquely upward and outward from the side edges of the left and right bulging portion edge portions 64j, the left and right inclined portion edge portions 64k, and the rear flat portion 64 m.

The cover rear portion 64e includes an inverted U-shaped notch portion 64q and a pair of left and right insertion portions 64r formed at the lower end portion. The notch 64q is a portion that avoids interference with the front fork 12 (see fig. 1). The left and right insertion portions 64r are portions that are inserted into insertion portions provided in the left and right front covers 31a and are positioned and fixed.

The left and right cover side portions 64b, 64c include: a pair of left and right rear fastened portions 64s fastened to the left and right front covers 31a with screws; and a pair of right and left front fastened portions 64t fastened to other cover members disposed around the meter 43.

The rear fastened portion 64s is disposed on the vehicle width direction outer side of the cover upper portion 64d of the cover center portion 64a and the bent portion 64u of the cover rear portion 64e, and has a screw insertion hole 64v through which a fastening screw passes.

The left and right front fastened portions 64t are provided at the front end portions of the left and right cover side portions 64b, 64c, and have screw insertion holes 64w through which fastening screws are inserted.

In this way, the warning lamp unit cover 64 is supported by the vehicle body cover 30 (see fig. 4) at left and right front end portions (left and right front fastened portions 64t), left and right rear end portions (left and right insertion portions 64r), and left and right intermediate portions (left and right rear fastened portions 64 s).

Fig. 9 is a perspective view showing an installation state of the warning lamp unit 61.

As shown in fig. 6, 7, and 9, a plurality of bosses 64y are formed to protrude from a rear surface 64x of the warning lamp unit cover 64. The fastened portions 108b, 108c, and 108d of the warning lamp unit 61 are fastened to these boss portions 64y by screws 114 inserted through the respective screw insertion holes 108e, and the warning lamp unit 61 is mounted on the warning lamp unit cover 64.

The right and left insertion portions 64r of the warning lamp unit cover 64 are inserted into the inserted portions of the front cover 31a, and the right and left rear fastened portions 64s and the right and left front fastened portions 64t (see fig. 8) are fastened to the right and left cover fastening portions 31c (only one cover fastening portion 31c is shown) of the front cover 31a, respectively.

As shown in fig. 4 and 5, the motorcycle 10 as a saddle-ride type vehicle includes: the vehicle body includes a windshield 42, a windshield stay 51 for fixing the windshield 42 to the vehicle body, and an operating handle 23 for steering the front wheel 13.

A meter 43 that displays vehicle information is disposed behind the windshield stay 51 to which the windshield 42 is attached. A warning lamp unit 61, which is a display unit configured separately from the meter 43 and displays vehicle information and the like, is disposed between the operating handle 23 and the meter 43. The warning lamp unit 61 includes a warning lamp.

The display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed above an extension line 43d extending downward from the display surface 43a of the meter 43 when viewed from the side of the vehicle.

According to this configuration, the vehicle information is enriched by dispersedly displaying the vehicle information on the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61, and the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61 are not overlapped in the vertical direction, so that the size of the front portion of the vehicle can be suppressed from increasing.

As shown in fig. 5, the inclination angle of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 with respect to the horizontal line 98 is the same as or smaller than the inclination angle of the display surface 43a of the meter 43 with respect to the horizontal line 98.

With this configuration, both the meter 43 and the warning lamp unit 61 can be visually confirmed without discomfort.

The upper end 43c of the display surface 43a of the meter 43 is higher than the upper end 61c of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61.

According to this configuration, the meter 43 that displays a large number of items of vehicle information such as vehicle speed that are visually recognized during vehicle driving can be arranged more prominently, and the visibility can be improved.

As shown in fig. 4, the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the lowermost end 23a of the operating handle 23. According to this configuration, even when the operation handle 23 is turned, the warning lamp unit 61 does not interfere with the operation handle 23, and the warning lamp unit 61 can be disposed near the operation handle 23.

As shown in fig. 5, the windshield stay 51 extends to the rear of the upper end 43c of the display surface 43a of the meter 43.

According to this configuration, the windshield stay 51 can be provided with the meter visor function, reflection of the scenery, sky, and the like around the vehicle onto the display surface 43a of the meter 43 can be suppressed, visibility of the meter 43 can be improved, the number of parts can be reduced, and cost can be suppressed.

As shown in fig. 1, 3, and 5, the warning lamp unit 61 is covered from above by a warning lamp unit cover 64 that is a display unit cover, and the warning lamp unit cover 64 is fixed to the vehicle body cover 30.

According to this configuration, by fixing the warning lamp unit 61 to the vehicle body cover 30 (specifically, the left and right front side covers 31a) via the warning lamp unit cover 64, it is not necessary to use an unnecessary stay or the like around the operation handle 23, and it is possible to make the periphery of the operation handle 23 small and compact and improve the appearance, and to improve the visibility of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61.

As shown in fig. 5, the upper end surface 61b of the warning lamp unit 61 is offset downward with respect to the lower end surface 43b of the meter 43 in the direction in which the display surface 43a of the meter 43 extends, and a warning lamp unit cover 64 is disposed in a space 103 between the warning lamp unit 61 and the meter 43.

According to this configuration, the upper end surface 61b of the warning lamp unit 61 and the lower end surface 43b of the meter 43 are disposed as close as possible, so that the visibility can be improved, and the warning lamp unit 61 and the meter 43 can be disposed compactly, thereby suppressing an increase in size of the front portion of the vehicle. Further, the meter 43 can be covered from below by the warning lamp unit cover 64, and direct entry of water into the meter 43 can be suppressed.

Further, as shown in fig. 3, 8, and 9, since the warning lamp unit 61 is fixed to the left and right front covers 31a via the warning lamp unit cover 64, the warning lamp unit cover 64 can also serve as a fixing member for fixing the warning lamp unit 61 to the left and right front covers 31a, and the number of parts can be reduced to suppress cost.

Further, since the display unit is the warning lamp unit 61, it is possible to cope with a vehicle state requiring emergency response by displaying a warning lamp such as vehicle information.

The above embodiments are merely illustrative of one aspect of the present invention, and any modifications and applications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.

For example, in the above embodiment, as shown in fig. 5, the warning lamp unit 61 is disposed below the meter 43 in the extending direction of the display surface 43a of the meter 43, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the warning lamp unit 61 may be disposed above the meter 43. In this case, the inclination angle of the display surface 61a of the warning lamp unit 61 with respect to the horizontal 98 is the same as or larger than the inclination angle of the display surface 43a of the meter 43 with respect to the horizontal 98.

The present invention is not limited to the case of being applied to the motorcycle 10, and can be applied to a saddle-ride type vehicle including the motorcycle 10.

The display means according to claim 1 may be a warning lamp for warning vehicle information or a display lamp for displaying a text message or the like not displayed on the vehicle meter.
