Background

There are currently two main driving methods for VVT variable valve timing systems: one is a side-mounted belt drive; the other is a central chain drive, and the two drive modes have advantages and disadvantages respectively.

The side belt driving mode has the advantages that the belt driving is beneficial to improving the noise reduction level of the engine, and has the defect that the VVT response speed is relatively slow; the middle-set chain drive has the advantages that the VVT response speed is higher, the engine valve adjustment is more facilitated, and the chain drive is not beneficial to the noise reduction of the engine.
