A method of installing trays in a tray column in a horizontal or near horizontal position, comprising:

a) providing a plate tower, wherein the tower bottom of the plate tower is formed by welding a lower end enclosure and a cylinder body, the plate tower is horizontally placed or nearly horizontally placed, and support rings are welded in the cylinder body at set intervals;

b) providing a tower plate provided with a pedestrian passageway, wherein the outer edge of the tower plate is at least partially overlapped with the inner edge of the support ring;

b) placing a pedestrian passage cover plate, and placing the second sliding sheet on one side of the pedestrian passage cover plate facing the tower top, wherein the second sliding sheet is partially overlapped with the pedestrian passage cover plate;

c) along the direction from the tower bottom to the tower top, the second bolt continuously passes through the second slip sheet after passing through the second through hole on the tower plate;

d) and installing the second nut in the direction from the top to the bottom of the tower, and screwing.

The method of claim 1, wherein the manway cover plate is provided with a gas channel.
