A weft cutting device for shuttleless looms, placed between a fabric edge (1) on one side, a comb (2) and a weft selection mechanism of the transom and the other side, having a plurality of eyelets (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) for guiding the weft yarns coming from the eyelets (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) and joined at an apex (V) located at the fabric edge (1) and at the beat-up line of the comb (2) where the fabric is formed, characterized in that: the cutting device consists of a rotating disc (19) with a cutting edge, the rotating disc (19) being configured to cut the weft yarn by means of a motor (18) keeping it rotating and a step-control motor (25) controlling the action of an articulated lever (15) by means of a rotating shaft (17) provided with an eccentric (17 '), the articulated lever (15) being configured to oscillate with respect to the longitudinal axis (26) of the step-control motor (25), one end of the lever (15) being shaped in the form of two arms (13,14), these two arms (13,14) resting respectively on the surfaces of two elastic plates (20,21), and the other end of the lever (15) being further connected to the eccentric (17').

Cutting device according to claim 1, characterized in that the step control motor (25) has a proximity sensor (28) for detecting the position of the shaft (17) and the lever (15), and that the step control motor (25) is equipped with a software program for controlling one or more encoders to command the stages of the cutting sequence of the weft thread.

3. Cutting device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that each weft thread (7') is gripped by a gripping means (23) and pushed between the elastic plate (20,21) and the two arms (13,14) of the rod (15).

The cutting device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the one of the two arms (13,14) of the lever (15) located on the side facing the fabric (1) has a tooth (27), said tooth (27) holding the weft thread (7 ') in the vicinity of the rotating disc (19) until the lever (15) can lower the weft thread (7') by swinging the eccentric (17 '), whereby the weft thread (7') is clamped between the elastic plate (20,21) and the arm (13,14) at the side of the rotating disc (19).

5. The cutting device according to claim 4, characterized in that the lever (15) causes the cutting of the weft thread (7 ') by pushing the weft thread (7') between two gripping points, which are close to each other and located near the blades of the rotating disc (19).

6. Cutting device according to claim 2, characterized in that the software program controls the oscillation of the lever (15) with programmed cycles and times, which are different for each weft yarn (7').

Cutting device according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that after cutting off the weft thread (7 '), the lever (15) lifts the arms (13,14) from the surface of the elastic plate (20,21) to leave space for the re-entry of the inserted weft thread (7 ') and returns to a standby position awaiting the next cycle of inserting a weft thread (7 ').
