Technical Field

The present invention relates to food storage devices, and more particularly to food storage devices having an upper door and a front door.

Background

The food storage device is a device capable of storing food at a predetermined temperature. For example, refrigerators and freezers are known in the art.

In general, a refrigerator is provided with a plurality of doors on one side surface, for example, a front surface, and when the doors are opened, the doors can be rotated left and right by using a vertical axis as a center line.

In general, a door is provided at an upper portion of an ice chest, and an upper portion of the ice chest is opened and closed by pushing and pulling.

The following problems exist with this refrigerator and freezer door design:

1. when the food is needed to be taken and placed, only the door on one side is opened, and if the food on the back of the refrigerator or under the ice bin is needed to be taken out, other food is needed to be moved to be taken out.

2. Since the size of the door is fixed, the larger food is limited when the food is required to be taken and placed.

In addition, in the prior art, users desire greater internal capacity at a given volume of the refrigerator and freezer.

However, if the volume cannot be increased any more due to limited space in a home, the thickness of the refrigerator and the freezer can be reduced if the internal capacity is increased. However, if the wall thickness is decreased, the sealing effect is decreased.

Detailed Description

Referring to fig. 1 to 3, the food storage device 1 of the present invention may include: a case 10 formed in a box shape with an opened upper and front portions, and having a storage space for storing food therein; an upper door 21 coupled to the housing 10 to open and close an open upper portion of the housing 10; the front door 22 is coupled to the housing 10 to open and close the open front of the housing 10.

The upper door 21 may be connected to an upper end of the rear wall of the case 10 by a hinge 11 in a manner rotatable in an up-down direction. Therefore, the user can stand in front of the housing 10, lift the upper door 21 upward, and rotate the upper door 21 to open the upper side of the housing 10. The hinge 11 may be provided at an upper end of the rear wall of the housing 10.

In a state where the upper door 21 closes the upper portion of the case 10, the upper door 21 contacts the upper ends of the side walls and the rear wall of the case 10, thereby closing the open upper portion of the case 10.

The front door 22 may be connected to a front end of the bottom of the housing 10 by a hinge 12 in a manner rotatable in the front-rear direction. Therefore, the user stands in front of the housing 10, pulls out the front door 22 forward, and rotates the front door 22 forward to open the front of the housing 10. The hinge 12 may be provided at the front end of the bottom of the housing 10.

In a state where the front door 22 closes the front of the case 10, the front door 22 contacts the front ends of the side walls and the front end of the bottom of the case 10, thereby closing the open front of the case 10.

Gaskets (not shown) may be formed at portions where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 contact the case 10. The gasket may be formed of a soft rubber.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 both close the casing 10, a part of the upper door 21 is in close contact with a part of the front door 22.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 both close the case 10, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 contacts the upper end 221 of the front door 22. Thus, the storage space of the housing 10 is isolated from the outside, and the storage space forms a closed space.

The front end 211 of the upper door 21 is a portion that can contact the front door 22, and is located forward relative to the rear end of the upper door 21.

The upper end 221 of the front door 22 is a portion that can contact the upper door 21, and is located above the lower end of the front door 22.

The upper door 21 and the front door 22 of the embodiment of the present invention may be formed in a quadrangular plate shape.

The angle between the upper door 21 and the front door 22 may be an acute angle, an obtuse angle, or a right angle in a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the case 10. Therefore, although the food storage device 1 of the present invention has two doors, unlike the prior art double door refrigerator, the prior art double door is in a parallel plane, i.e., an angle of 180 degrees, when the case is closed, but the upper door 21 and the front door 22 of the present invention are not in the same plane.

With the above structure, the present invention can open the upper and front portions of the housing 10 through the upper door 21 and the front door 22, respectively, thereby allowing easy access to food as needed. It is also possible to place larger food items by fully opening the upper door 21 and the front door 22 according to the size of the food items.

The front, rear, upper, and lower described in this specification are directions or orientations. As shown in fig. 1, the front door 22 of the food storage device 1 is positioned at the front with respect to the rear wall of the housing 10, and the front end 211 of the upper door 21 is positioned closer to the front than the hinge 11 where the upper door 21 is coupled to the rear wall of the housing 10. The upper door 21 is located above the bottom of the housing 10. In fig. 1, the X direction is the front, and the opposite direction is the rear. The Y direction is upward, and the opposite direction is downward. The Z direction is the right direction, and the opposite direction is the left direction.

In real life, users desire a small volume and a large capacity of the food storage device 1. However, the volume of the food storage device 1 is generally fixed to meet the limited space of the home. Therefore, in order to satisfy the capacity in the storage space without increasing the volume, the wall thickness of the housing 10 and the thicknesses of the upper door 21 and the front door 22 may be reduced.

However, if the thickness of the housing 10 and the thicknesses of the upper door 21 and the front door 22 are reduced, the area of the contact portion between the upper door 21 and the front door 22 and the area of the contact between the upper door 21 and the front door 22 and the housing 10 are reduced, which may reduce the sealing effect. Specifically, if the area of contact is reduced, the space for disposing the gasket is limited, and internal gas leakage is easily generated due to the reduced area.

In order to overcome the above problems, embodiments of the present invention provide a food storage device 1 that can achieve a good sealing effect while satisfying a requirement that the wall thickness of a housing 10, an upper door 21, a front door 22, etc. be reduced to a thickness that can satisfy a predetermined thickness (i.e., a thickness that can satisfy heat preservation and resistance to external impact).

Referring to fig. 3 to 7, the upper door 21, the front door 22, and the case 10 of the present invention contact each other to form a sealing surface (or a contact surface). A gasket may be formed at these contacting portions.

In the upper door 21 and the front door 22 of the present invention, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 contacts the upper end 221 of the front door 22 to form a contact surface in a state where the case 10 is closed.

In a portion of the front end 211 of the upper door 21 that contacts the upper end 221 of the front door 22, an upper end portion 211a closer to the upper side projects more forward than a lower end portion 211b closer to the lower side.

Here, the upward direction means an orientation in which the upper door 21 is close to the upper surface of the upper door 21 in the upward and downward direction in a state in which the upper door 21 closes the casing 10. The lower side means an orientation close to the lower surface of the upper door 21 in the up-down direction.

The front end 211 of the upper door 21 contacting the front door 22 is formed to have a smaller sectional area toward the front. Here, the sectional area may be a sectional area of a sectional surface of the upper door 21 viewed in the left-right direction after the upper door 21 is cut in the front-rear direction.

A linear distance P1 between the upper end 211a of the front end 211 of the upper door 21 and the hinge 11 provided at the upper end of the rear wall of the cabinet 10 is longer than a linear distance P2 between the lower end 211b of the front end 211 of the upper door 21 and the hinge 11 provided at the upper end of the rear wall of the cabinet 10. The straight distance here may be the shortest distance in the front-rear direction.

Therefore, in the case where the thickness of the upper door 21 is kept constant, particularly, in the case where the thickness of the front end 211 is kept constant, the linear distance between the upper end 211a and the lower end 211b is larger than the thickness of the upper door 21 or the thickness of the front end 211.

In a portion of the upper end 221 of the front door 22 that contacts the front end 211 of the upper door 21, a front end 221a closer to the front projects upward than a rear end 221b closer to the rear.

Here, the front side is an orientation close to the front surface of the front door 22 in the front-rear direction in a state where the front door 22 closes the housing 10. Near the rear refers to an orientation near the rear surface of the front door 22 in the front-rear direction.

The upper end 221 of the front door 22 contacting the upper door 21 is formed to have a smaller sectional area closer to the upper side. Here, the sectional area may be a sectional area of a cut surface of the front door 22 viewed in the left-right direction after the front door 22 is cut in the up-down direction.

A distance P3 between the front end 221a of the upper end 221 of the front door 22 and the hinge 12 provided at the bottom front end of the casing 10 is longer than a distance P4 between the rear end 221b of the upper end 221 of the front door 22 and the hinge 12. The straight distance here may be the shortest distance in the up-down direction.

Therefore, in the case where the thickness of the front door 22 is kept constant, particularly, in the case where the thickness of the upper end 221 is kept constant, the straight distance between the front end portion 221a and the rear end portion 22b is larger than the thickness of the front door 22 or the thickness of the upper end 221.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the casing 10, the upper end portion 211a contacts the front end portion 221a, and the lower end portion 211b contacts the rear end portion 221 b. A portion (a first inclined surface, a concave portion or a convex portion, or a first step portion, which will be described later) between the upper end portion 211a and the lower end portion 211b of the upper door 21 is in contact with a portion (a second inclined surface, a convex portion or a concave portion, or a second step portion, which will be described later) between the front end portion 221a and the rear end portion 221b of the front door 22.

With the above configuration, even if the thicknesses of the upper door 21 and the front door 22 are reduced, the area of the contact portion between the upper door 21 and the front door 22 can be secured. This can improve the sealing effect.

In other embodiments, the portions of the upper door 21 and the front door 22 contacting the housing 10 may be formed as described above. Detailed description thereof is omitted herein.

The contact between the upper door 21 and the front door 22 is achieved in a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 are closed to the case 10. In a state where the upper door 21 and/or the front door 21 are opened, there is no contact between the upper door 21 and the front door 22.

Referring to fig. 4, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 may include a first inclined surface 212 inclined with respect to the upper door 21. Specifically, in the case where the upper door 21 is flat plate-shaped, the first inclined surface 212 forms an angle with the upper surface or the lower surface of the upper door 21. For example, the angle between the first inclined surface 212 and the upper surface of the upper door 21 is 30 to 60 degrees, preferably 45 degrees.

The first inclined surface 212 is formed between the upper end portion 211a and the lower end portion 211b as a part of the front end 211 of the upper door 21.

The upper end 221 of the front door 22 may include a second inclined surface 222 inclined with respect to the front door 22. Specifically, when the front door 22 is flat, the second inclined surface 222 forms a predetermined angle with the front surface or the rear surface of the front door 22. For example, the angle between the second inclined surface 222 and the front surface of the front door 22 is 30 to 60 degrees, preferably 45 degrees.

The second inclined surface 222 is formed between the front end 221a and the rear end 221b as a part of the upper end 221.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the casing 10, the upper end 211a is in close contact with the front end 221a, the lower end 211b is in close contact with the rear end 221b, and the first inclined surface 212 is in contact with (in close contact with) the second inclined surface 222.

A gasket may be formed on the first inclined surface 212 and/or the second inclined surface 222.

The gasket provided at the first inclined surface 212 and/or the second inclined surface 22 may be closely attached to the first inclined surface 212 and/or the second inclined surface 222 between the front end 211 and the upper end 221 in a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the case 10.

Referring to fig. 5, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 may include a recess 213. Specifically, a recess 213 that is recessed in the direction opposite to the front door 22 is formed between the upper end 211a and the lower end 211b of the front end 211. The recessed portion 213 has one end connected to the upper end 211a and the other end connected to the lower end 211 b.

The recess 213 is formed in the entire longitudinal direction of the distal end 211, and is recessed inward (in a direction opposite to the direction toward the upper end 22) of the distal end 211 from a surface of the distal end 211 facing the upper end 221.

The upper end 221 of the front door 22 may include a projection 223. Specifically, a projection 223 projecting from the front door 22 is formed between the front end portion 221a and the rear end portion 221b of the upper end 211. The projection 223 has one end connected to the front end 221a and the other end connected to the rear end 221 b.

The convex portion 223 is formed in the entire length direction of the upper end 221 corresponding to the shape of the concave portion 213. The projection 223 projects from the upper end 221 of the front door 22 toward the front end 211 of the upper door 21.

The protrusion 223 is inserted into the recess 213 and closely attached to the inner surface of the recess 213 in a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the case 10. A sealing pad may be formed on the protrusion 223 and/or the recess 213.

Thus, the shape of the convex portion 223 and the concave portion 213 may be substantially a curved surface shape. Therefore, the sealing effect can be further increased compared to a straight inclined surface.

Referring to fig. 6, in other embodiments, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 is formed with a protrusion 213 ', and the upper end 221 of the front door 22 is formed with a recess 223'. The protrusion 213 'may be inserted into and closely attached to the recess 223'. The structure is similar to the above embodiment, and thus detailed description is omitted.

Referring to fig. 7, the front end 211 of the upper door 21 may include a first step portion 214. Specifically, a first step portion 214 formed of a plurality of first steps is formed between the upper end portion 211a and the lower end portion 211b of the front end 211. The first step portion 214 has one end connected to the upper end portion 211a and the other end connected to the lower end portion 211 b. In the front end 211 of the upper door 21, the first step portion 214 is inclined rearward from the front direction in the top-down direction.

The upper end 221 of the front door 22 may include a second step portion 224 corresponding to the first step portion 214. A second step portion 224 formed of a plurality of second steps is formed between the front end portion 221a and the rear end portion 221b of the upper end 221. The second step portion 224 has one end connected to the front end portion 221a and the other end connected to the rear end portion 221 b. In the upper end 221 of the front door 22, the second step portion 224 is inclined from top to bottom in the front-to-rear direction.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the casing 10, the first step portion 214 and the second step portion 224 are in close contact. Specifically, the steps of the first step portion 214 and the steps of the second step portion 224 are in one-to-one contact with each other and closely contact each other.

In a state where the upper door 21 and the front door 22 close the casing 10, the respective steps of the first step portion 214 and the second step portion 224 are fitted to each other and closely attached to each other. Thereby, the sealing effect can be increased.

A gasket may be provided at the front end 211 of the upper door 21 and/or the upper end of the front door 22.

The first gasket formed on the front end 211 can be in close contact with the upper end 221 in a state where the case 10 is closed.

The second gasket formed on the upper end 221 can be in close contact with the front end 211 in a state where the case 10 is closed.

In the case where the front end 211 and the upper end 221 are each provided with a gasket, the gaskets may be in contact with each other and closely attached.

The present invention has been described above by way of a modification of the embodiment. It should be understood that the above-described embodiments or modifications are only a part, not all, of the present invention, and the described embodiments or modifications are only for explaining the present invention and are not intended to limit the present invention. All other embodiments or modifications which can be obtained by a person skilled in the art without any inventive step based on the above embodiments or modifications belong to the protection scope of the present invention.
