The theory of traditional Chinese medicine believes that the stir-fried caltrop can enhance the efficacy of tonifying the kidney and calming the liver, and is good at treating the liver-yang headache and the vertigo. Tribulus terrestris is used in ancient prescription recorded in Ben Cao gang mu for tonifying kidney and treating wind; for the processing before and after stir-frying of puncturevine, the one recorded in Jingyue quan Shu is to stir-fry thorns thoroughly with tonifying, and to stir-fry thorns with cool herbs. The stir-baked fructus Tribuli not only highlights its effects of nourishing kidney qi, calming liver and suppressing yang, but also reduces its liver and kidney toxicity. Aiming at the problems in the processing of the existing caltrops, the invention provides a combined method of removing thorns and stir-frying of raw caltrops with spines, which comprises the steps of putting two steel balls with different sizes and raw caltrops with spines into a medicine frying machine for stir-frying in proportion, impacting and cracking the raw caltrops into capsule fruit pieces by utilizing the hardness and the weight of the large steel balls, changing the thorns on the capsule fruit pieces of the caltrops into crisp textures along with continuous heating and stir-frying, and utilizing the impact of the large steel balls and the mutual collision friction of the small steel balls to lead the scorched thorns to fall off the caltrops. The volume of the small steel balls is similar to that of the caltrop capsules, the small steel balls also play a role of heating a medium to enable the caltrops to be heated uniformly, and the prepared stir-fried caltrops are more uniform in appearance and color. The technology combines the thorn removing process and the frying process into one, is convenient and feasible, improves the production efficiency of the fried caltrops, and can ensure the quality of the fried caltrops.

The invention combines the thorn removing and the frying of the caltrops into a whole, reduces the procedures of a method for removing the thorn firstly and then frying or a method for frying and then removing the thorn, is beneficial to improving the production efficiency and reducing the production cost of enterprises, and has the thorn removing effect, the appearance color uniformity and the internal component index superior to those of 2 traditional thorn removing methods. The method is also suitable for removing thorns and parching other traditional Chinese medicines with thorns, such as fructus Xanthii.
