A safety system (10) for protecting a machine (12), the safety system being provided with: at least one security sensor (14, 14a-14b) for generating security data, wherein the security sensor (14, 14a-b) also generates non-security data; and/or a non-safety sensor (16) for generating non-safety data, wherein the safety system (10) further has: a non-secure evaluation unit (18) for processing the non-secure data; and a security evaluation unit (20) designed for testing the non-security evaluation unit (18) by verifying an evaluation result of the processing of the non-security data on the basis of the security data,

2. The safety system (10) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the safety evaluation unit (20) is designed to generate a safeguard signal to the machine (12) when the evaluation result is not authentic.

3. The safety system (10) as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the non-safety evaluation unit (18) is designed for generating a control signal to the machine (12), in particular for safeguarding the machine (12).

4. The safety system (10) according to one of the preceding claims, having a safety control device (20) with the safety evaluation unit.

5. The security system (10) of any one of the preceding claims, having a computer unit (18) with the non-security evaluation unit.

6. The security system (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the security data has at least one binary object determination signal.

7. The security system (10) of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the security data has information of whether a protection zone (22) is breached and which protection zone is breached.

8. The security system (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the security sensor (14, 14a-14b) is designed as a security laser scanner.

9. The safety system (10) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the non-safety evaluation unit (18) is designed for determining a distance of an object (24) from the machine (12).

The security system (10) of any one of the preceding claims, wherein the security sensors (14, 14a-14b) are designed for monitoring a grid field consisting of a plurality of protection zones (22), wherein the security data about the identification of the invaded protection zone (22) have secure location information.

11. The safety system (10) according to claim 10, wherein the safety evaluation unit (20) is designed to check the evaluation result of the non-safety evaluation unit (18) at the point in time when the identity of the invaded protection zone (22) changes.

12. The safety system (10) as claimed in one of the preceding claims, wherein the non-safety evaluation unit (18) is designed for navigating a vehicle (12).

13. The security system (10) according to claim 12, wherein the security data has location information at least one reference location, in particular by monitoring a reference protection area by the security sensors (14, 14a-14 b).

14. A method for safeguarding a machine (12), in which at least one safety sensor (14, 14a-14b) generates safety data and the safety sensors (14, 14a-14b) and/or non-safety sensors (16) generate non-safety data, wherein the non-safety data are processed in a non-safe manner and are tested by checking the evaluation result of the processing of the non-safety data on the basis of the safety data,
