Technical Field

The technology disclosed by this specification relates to a connector.

Background

Conventionally, as a shielded connector provided with a tension release mechanism (strain relief), a connector assembly described in japanese patent laying-open No. 2012 and 511804 (patent document 1) is known. The connector assembly is configured to include an inner housing portion assembly, an outer housing portion assembly, a spacer, a cable seal, a collet, and a retainer. The cable seal seals against the penetration of moisture and other foreign matter into the inside of the outer casing section assembly through the rear end of the outer casing section assembly. The collet is a structure for fixing the cable in order to prevent tension from the cable from acting on the connection between the cable shield and the shield, and includes a finger portion for pressing the cable. When the retainer is assembled to the outer housing part assembly from behind the collet, the pressing portions of the retainer press the fingers of the collet, thereby enabling the cable to be secured to the collet.

Disclosure of Invention

Problems to be solved by the invention

However, in the above-described connector assembly, in order to prevent tension from the cable from acting on the connection between the cable shield and the shield, the cable is fixed by three members, that is, the outer housing portion assembly, the collet, and the holder, and therefore the number of parts increases, and the parts cost increases.

Means for solving the problems

The connector disclosed by the present specification includes: an electric wire; a rubber plug fitted to an outer peripheral surface of the electric wire; a housing having a rubber plug housing portion that is open at a front side and that sandwiches the rubber plug between an inner peripheral surface of the rubber plug housing portion and an outer peripheral surface of the electric wire; and a holder attached to the rubber plug housing portion from the front and holding the rubber plug in the rubber plug housing portion, wherein the holder includes a flexing piece that is relatively displaceable with respect to an outer peripheral surface of the electric wire and a fixing piece that is relatively non-displaceable with respect to the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire, the housing includes a pressing piece that presses the flexing piece against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire, and the electric wire is held by the holder by the fixing piece and the flexing piece in a state pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire by the pressing piece.

According to this configuration, when the holder is attached to the rubber plug housing portion of the housing, the pressing piece of the housing presses the bending piece of the holder against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire. The wire is expanded in a direction different from the pressing direction by the bent piece of the holder, but the expansion of the wire is suppressed by the fixing piece, so that the wire is held by the holder in a state where the wire is pressed from both the bent piece and the fixing piece. Therefore, the electric wire can be held by two members, i.e., the housing and the holder, and the number of parts can be reduced as compared with the conventional case in which the electric wire is held by three members.

Further, if the holder is assembled to the case in a state where the flexible piece is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire, there is a possibility that the flexible piece and the fixing piece are stuck into a coating layer of the electric wire and damage the electric wire.

The connector disclosed in the present specification may have the following configuration.

The following configuration may be adopted: the plurality of the flexible pieces and the plurality of the fixed pieces are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction along the outer circumferential surface of the electric wire, and a slit is formed between the flexible pieces and the fixed pieces.

According to this configuration, since the flexible piece and the fixed piece are adjacent to each other with the slit interposed therebetween, even if the diameter of both side portions of the flexible piece on the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire is expanded when the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire is pressed by the flexible piece, the diameter expansion of both side portions can be suppressed by the fixed piece.

The following configuration may be adopted: the pressing piece is provided to protrude forward from an opening edge of the rubber plug housing portion, and the holder has a front wall in which a pressing piece insertion hole is formed for inserting the pressing piece.

According to this configuration, since the pressing piece is provided so as to protrude forward from the opening edge of the rubber plug housing portion and the pressing piece insertion hole is provided in the front wall of the holder, the front wall of the holder can be brought closer to the rubber plug housing portion, and the connector as a whole can be downsized.

The following configuration may be adopted: the fixing piece is provided so as to protrude forward from the front wall, and the fixing piece and the front wall are connected by a bending prevention rib.

According to this configuration, since the fixing piece is connected to both the front wall and the bending prevention rib, the bending of the fixing piece can be reliably prevented.

The following configuration may be adopted: the flexure piece is followed the preceding wall sets up protrudingly to the place ahead the front end of flexure piece is with to the mode that the aversion direction of flexure piece is outstanding is provided with spear portion, the extrusion piece will spear portion extrude in the outer peripheral face of electric wire.

According to this configuration, since the lance portion is located at the tip of the flexible piece, the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire starts to be pressed at a later timing, and the electric wire is less likely to be damaged.

Effects of the invention

According to the connector disclosed in the present specification, the number of components can be reduced while preventing damage to the electric wire.

Detailed Description

< embodiment >

The embodiment is described with reference to the drawings of fig. 1 to 16. As shown in fig. 1, the connector 10 of the present embodiment includes: a housing 20 extending in the front-rear direction; a pair of front and rear holders 30 and 40 attached to front and rear end portions of the housing 20; a 1 st wire W1 drawn out forward from the 1 st holder 30 on the front side; and 2 nd and 3 rd wires W2 and W3, which are drawn out rearward from the 2 nd holder 40 on the rear side. As shown in fig. 2, the 1 st wire W1 has a diameter smaller than the 2 nd wire W2 and larger than the 3 rd wire W3. The current inputted from the 2 nd wire W2 is branched to the 1 st wire W1 and the 3 rd wire W3 and outputted.

As shown in fig. 4, a cavity 21 penetrating in the front-rear direction is provided inside the housing 20. The conductive member 50 is housed in the cavity 21, and the conductive member 50 is conductively connected to the core wires of the electric wires W1, W2, and W3. The core wires of the respective electric wires W1, W2, W3 are connected to the conductive member 50 by, for example, resistance welding. Thereby, the 1 st wire W1, the 2 nd wire W2, and the 3 rd wire W3 are conductively connected to each other.

A pair of front and rear rubber plug housing portions 22 are provided at both front and rear end portions of the housing 20. A pair of rubber plugs 60 are housed inside the pair of front and rear rubber plug housing portions 22. The front rubber plug housing 22 is open at the front, and the rear rubber plug housing 22 is open at the rear. The inner spaces of the rubber plug accommodating portions 22 form a part of the cavity 21, and communicate with each other via a conductive member accommodating portion 23 in which the conductive member 50 is accommodated.

As shown in fig. 10 and 11, a pair of upper and lower locking projections 24 are provided on both upper and lower surfaces of the front end portion of the housing 20, and a pair of upper and lower locking projections 24 are provided on both upper and lower surfaces of the rear end portion of the housing 20. As shown in fig. 9, the locking projection 24 is disposed at a position vertically aligned with the bottom wall 22A of the rubber plug housing 22.

As shown in fig. 10, a front pressing piece 25 is provided at an opening edge of the front rubber plug housing 22 so as to protrude forward. As shown in fig. 11, a pair of upper and lower pressing pieces 25 is provided on the front side. Similarly, a pair of upper and lower pressing pieces 25 are provided at the opening edge of the rear rubber plug housing portion 22, but the rear pressing piece 25 is formed to be wider than the front pressing piece 25.

As shown in fig. 12 and 13, the 1 st holder 30 includes a front wall 32 and a peripheral wall 33, the front wall 32 is formed with a holding hole 31 for inserting and holding the 1 st wire W1, and the peripheral wall 33 extends rearward from a peripheral edge of the front wall 32. A pair of upper and lower locking pieces 34 are provided on the peripheral wall 33. The locking piece 34 is formed in a cantilevered shape projecting rearward in a substantially U-shape from the front edge of the peripheral wall 33, and as shown in fig. 1, the rear end portion of the locking piece 34 is locked to the locking projection 24 of the housing 20, whereby the 1 st retainer 30 is held in a state of being externally fitted to the rubber plug housing 22 of the housing 20. Note that, since the 2 nd holder 40 has substantially the same configuration as the 1 st holder 30, the description thereof is omitted, and the reference numerals of 10 added to the reference numerals of the 1 st holder 30 are used for the configuration corresponding to the 1 st holder 30.

As shown in fig. 12, a pair of flexing pieces 35 and a pair of fixing pieces 36 are provided on the front wall 32 of the 1 st holder 30. The pair of bending pieces 35 are relatively displaceable with respect to the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1, and the pair of fixing pieces 36 are relatively non-displaceable with respect to the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1. The pair of flexible pieces 35 and the pair of fixing pieces 36 are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction along the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1 in a state where the 1 st retainer 30 is attached to the rubber plug housing portion 22 on the front side of the housing 20, and are annular as a whole in front view. A slit 37 is formed between the flexure piece 35 and the fixing piece 36. The slits 37 are provided in total of four, and arranged at intervals of 90 °. The pair of bending pieces 35 are disposed to face each other in the vertical direction, and the pair of fixing pieces 36 are disposed to face each other in the horizontal direction. As shown in fig. 12, a pressing rib 35A extending in the front-rear direction is provided on the inner circumferential surface of the flexure piece 35 so as to protrude radially inward.

A pair of upper and lower lance portions 38 are provided at the front ends of the outer peripheries of the pair of upper and lower flexible pieces 35 so as to project radially outward. The upper lance portion 38 projects upward from the upper flexure piece 35, and the lower lance portion 38 projects downward from the lower flexure piece 35. The pair of upper and lower lance portions 38 are arranged in a straight line so as to be aligned in the vertical direction. As shown in fig. 16, the dimension of the lance portion 38 in the front-rear direction is about half of the dimension of the flexure piece 35 in the front-rear direction.

As shown in fig. 12, a pair of right and left anti-buckling ribs 39 are provided on the outer peripheries of the pair of right and left fixing pieces 36 so as to protrude outward in the radial direction. The left anti-flexing rib 39 projects leftward from the left fixing piece 36, and the right anti-flexing rib 39 projects rightward from the right fixing piece 36. The pair of right and left anti-buckling ribs 39 are arranged in a straight line so as to be aligned in the right and left direction. As shown in fig. 15, the dimension of the buckling prevention rib 39 in the front-rear direction is the same as the dimension of the fixing piece 36 in the front-rear direction, and the buckling prevention rib 39 is connected to both the fixing piece 36 and the front wall 32.

As shown in fig. 12, a pressing piece insertion hole 32A extending in the left-right direction is provided at a base end portion of the locking piece 34 in the front wall 32 of the 1 st holder 30. The pressing piece insertion hole 32A is provided in a pair of upper and lower portions corresponding to the pair of upper and lower locking pieces 34. The pressing piece insertion hole 32A and the locking piece 34 are provided in series in the up-down direction, and the inner spaces of the pressing piece insertion hole 32A and the locking piece 34 communicate with each other.

Next, a procedure of holding the 1 st electric wire W1 in the case 20 by the 1 st holder 30 will be described. As shown in fig. 6, in a state where the 1 st electric wire W1 is drawn out forward from the rubber plug housing 22 on the front side, the rubber plug 60 through which the 1 st electric wire W1 has passed first is mounted inside the rubber plug housing 22. Thereby, the rubber plug 60 is sandwiched between the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1 and the inner peripheral surface of the rubber plug housing 22. When the 1 st retainer 30 is attached to the rubber plug housing 22 from the front side in this state, as shown in fig. 7, the pressing rib 35A of the flexure piece 35 rides over the 1 st electric wire W1, and the flexure piece 35 assumes an inclined posture. In this case, the pressing rib 35A does not dig into the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1, and therefore, the 1 st holder 30 may be attached to damage the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1.

When the 1 st retainer 30 is further attached to the rubber plug housing portion 22 on the front side, as shown in fig. 8, the lance portion 38 of the flexing piece 35 starts to abut on the front end of the pressing piece 25. Here, since tapered surfaces that can be introduced into each other are formed at the respective contact portions of the lance portion 38 and the pressing piece 25, the lance portion 38 smoothly enters the inside of the pressing piece 25. Along with this, the pressing rib 35A of the flexure piece 35 starts to sink into the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st electric wire W1 via the lance portion 38. The 1 st wire W1 is expanded in diameter in the left-right direction by being sandwiched in the up-down direction by the pair of upper and lower flexible pieces 35, but since the pair of left and right fixing pieces 36 are disposed on both the left and right sides of the 1 st wire W1, the 1 st wire W1 is suppressed from being expanded in diameter in the left-right direction. Further, since the fixing piece 36 is prevented from being bent by the bending prevention rib 39, the 1 st electric wire W1 is not bent.

Thus, as shown in fig. 9, the pressing rib 35A of the flexure piece 35 is in a state of being recessed into the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st wire W1 at the same time as the 1 st holder 30 is completely attached, and the 1 st wire W1 is held by the 1 st holder 30. At this time, the 1 st electric wire W1 is pressed and held over the entire circumference by the pair of upper and lower bent pieces 35 and the pair of left and right fixed pieces 36, and the 1 st holder 30 is held by the housing 20, so the 1 st electric wire W1 is firmly held by the housing 20 by the 1 st holder 30. Further, the pressing rib 35A of the flexure piece 35 is recessed into the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st wire W1 simultaneously with the completion of the attachment of the 1 st holder 30, so that the outer peripheral surface of the 1 st wire W1 is not damaged by the attachment of the 1 st holder 30.

As described above, in the present embodiment, when the holder (1 st holder 30) is attached to the rubber plug housing 22 of the housing 20, the pressing piece 25 of the housing 20 presses the flexible piece 35 of the holder against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire (1 st electric wire W1). The wire is expanded in a direction different from the pressing direction by the bent piece 35 of the holder, but the expansion of the wire is suppressed by the fixing piece 36, so that the wire is held by the holder in a state where the wire is pressed from both the bent piece 35 and the fixing piece 36. Therefore, the electric wire can be held by two members, i.e., the housing 20 and the holder, and the number of parts can be reduced as compared with the conventional case in which the electric wire is held by three members.

Further, if the holder is assembled to the housing 20 in a state where the bending piece 35 is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire, there is a possibility that the bending piece 35 and the fixing piece 36 are stuck into a coating layer of the electric wire or the like to damage the electric wire, but according to the above configuration, the bending piece 35 gradually presses the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire in conjunction with the operation of assembling the holder to the housing 20, so that the force pressing the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire is gradually increased, and the electric wire can be less likely to be damaged.

The following configuration may be adopted: the plurality of flexing pieces 35 and the fixing pieces 36 are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction along the outer circumferential surface of the electric wire, and slits 37 are formed between the flexing pieces 35 and the fixing pieces 36.

According to such a configuration, since the flexure piece 35 and the fixing piece 36 are adjacent to each other with the slit 37 interposed therebetween, even if both side portions of the flexure piece 35 in the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire are expanded in diameter when the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire is pressed by the flexure piece 35, the expansion of both side portions can be suppressed by the fixing piece 36.

The following configuration may be adopted: the pressing piece 25 is provided to protrude forward from the opening edge of the rubber plug housing 22, the holder has a front wall 32, and the front wall 32 is formed with a pressing piece insertion hole 32A through which the pressing piece 25 is inserted.

According to this configuration, since the pressing piece 25 is provided so as to protrude forward from the opening edge of the rubber plug housing 22 and the pressing piece insertion hole 32A is provided in the front wall 32 of the holder, the front wall 32 of the holder can be brought closer to the rubber plug housing 22, and the connector 10 can be downsized as a whole.

The following configuration may be adopted: the fixing piece 36 is provided to project forward from the front wall 32, and the fixing piece 36 and the front wall 32 are connected by a bending prevention rib 39.

According to such a configuration, since the fixing piece 36 is coupled to both the front wall 32 and the bending prevention rib 39, bending of the fixing piece 36 can be reliably prevented.

The following configuration may be adopted: the flexing piece 35 is provided so as to protrude forward from the front wall 32, a lance portion 38 is provided at the front end of the flexing piece 35 so as to protrude in the displacement direction of the flexing piece 35, and the pressing piece 25 presses the lance portion 38 toward the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire.

According to this configuration, since the lance portion 38 is located at the tip of the flexible piece 35, the outer peripheral surface of the electric wire starts to be pressed at a later timing, and the electric wire is less likely to be damaged.

In this case, the 1 st retainer may be fitted into the cover portion.

(4) In the above embodiment, the bending prevention rib 39 is exemplified as being coupled to both the fixing piece 36 and the front wall 32, but the bending prevention rib may be coupled to only one of the fixing piece 36 and the front wall 32 and separated from the other with a slight clearance.

(5) In the above embodiment, the lance portion 38 is provided at the tip end portion of the flexure piece 35, but the lance portion may be provided over the entire length of the flexure piece 35.
