背景技术

以液晶显示装置及发光显示装置为代表的平板显示器广泛地被用作显示装置。作为构成这些显示装置的晶体管的半导体材料主要使用硅，但是，近年来，还开发出将使用金属氧化物的晶体管用于显示装置的像素的技术。

专利文献1及专利文献2公开了将作为半导体材料使用金属氧化物的晶体管用作显示装置的像素的开关元件等的技术。

另外，专利文献3公开了一种具有将关态电流(off-state current)极低的晶体管用于存储单元的结构的存储装置。
