1. An article comprising an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane as a substrate and a coating on at least a portion of said substrate, wherein said coating is obtained by curing a water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion, characterized in that said polyurethaneurea comprises polycarbonate structural units.

2. The article of claim 1, wherein the expanded thermoplastic polyurethane comprises at least one polyether.

3. The article according to any of claims 1 or 2, wherein the expanded thermoplastic polyurethane additionally comprises at least one lubricant.

4. The article of claim 4, wherein the at least one lubricant is selected from talc, metal compounds, silica, salts of C10 to C22 carboxylic acids, esters of C10 to C22 carboxylic acids, silicone oil, polytetrafluoroethylene, or a combination of at least two thereof.

5. The article of any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the polyurethaneurea is obtained by the reaction of at least the following free:

a) a polycarbonate diol which is a mixture of a polycarbonate diol,

b) an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diamine or hydrazine as a chain extender, and

c) aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic diisocyanates.

6. The article of any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the polyurethaneurea comprises alkoxysilane structural units.

7. The article of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion has a solids content in the range of 35 to 60wt. -%, based on the total weight of the polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion.

8. The article of any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion additionally comprises at least one colorant.

9. The article of any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion additionally comprises at least one polyisocyanate.

10. The article according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the article is selected from a shoe sole, a seat, such as a car seat or a child seat, an inner tube, such as a bicycle inner tube, a reel, such as a cabin reel, a bumper, such as a car bumper, a cushion and a mattress, or a combination of at least two thereof.

11. Footwear comprising an article according to any one of claims 1 to 10.

12. A process for preparing the article according to any one of claims 1 to 10, comprising the steps of:

1) providing a substrate comprising an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane,

2) applying a water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion on at least a portion of the substrate of step 1), wherein the polyurethaneurea comprises polycarbonate structural units,

3) curing said water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion of step 2) to obtain a coating, and

4) optionally repeating steps 2) and 3) at least once, wherein the water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion is applied to the cured coating obtained in step 3) or repeated step 3) when step 2) is repeated.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein in step 2) the water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion is applied to the substrate by brushing, spraying, rolling, slot coating, dipping and/or printing.

14. The process according to any one of claims 12 or 13, wherein the water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion used in step 2) and/or when repeating step 2) has a viscosity of 10 to 30 seconds, according to DIN en iso 2431.

15. Use of a water-based polyurethaneurea solution/dispersion for decorative coating of a substrate comprising an expanded thermoplastic polyurethane, wherein the polyurethane.
