Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of connectors, and more particularly, to a waterproof USB socket.
Background
The Type C USB socket is widely used in electronic devices such as mobile phones, and is used as a data transmission and charging interface. The connector generally comprises a connector and a metal shell fixed outside the connector, wherein the connector comprises a first terminal group, a second terminal group, a middle plate arranged between the first terminal group and the second terminal group, and an insulating body which integrates the first terminal group, the second terminal group and the middle plate. Limited to the problem of the consistency of the USB socket and the printed circuit board, the metal shell is usually torn to form solder feet to enhance the holding force with the printed circuit board, thereby causing the metal shell to have holes or gaps, which cannot be waterproof. The existing solution is to prevent water by arranging the metal inner shell and the metal outer shell, namely, the metal inner shell is of a seamless structure, the welding leg is arranged on the metal outer shell, the metal outer shell is fixed on the metal inner shell in a spot welding manner, and then waterproof glue is coated on the tail of the socket to prevent water, so that the manufacturing cost of the scheme is high.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, a waterproof USB socket with simple waterproof performance and low cost is needed.
In order to solve the above technical problem, the present application provides a waterproof USB socket, comprising a connector and a metal shell fixed outside the connector, the plug connector comprises a plurality of terminal groups and an insulating body which integrates the terminal groups into a whole, the insulating body comprises a base part, a butt joint tongue part formed by forward extension of the base part and a tail part formed by backward extension of the base part, the metal shell is penetrated from front to back to form an insertion cavity, the outer diameter of the base part is smaller than that of the tail part, the periphery of the base part is provided with an annular convex rib, the metal shell is fixed on the periphery of the tail part, the USB socket also comprises a waterproof sleeve which is inserted into the insertion cavity from the front end of the metal shell, the waterproof sleeve is formed with a butt joint cavity in a front-back through mode, and the inner wall face of the rear end of the butt joint cavity is clamped on the periphery of the annular convex rib to achieve waterproof.
Preferably, the terminal group includes a first terminal group and a second terminal group respectively exposed from the upper surface and the lower surface of the docking tongue, the connector further includes a middle plate located between the first terminal group and the second terminal group, the insulation body injection-molds the first terminal group and the second terminal group and the middle plate into a whole, the insulation body further includes a cladding portion located between the base portion and the docking tongue, and an outer diameter of the cladding portion is smaller than an outer diameter of the base portion.
Preferably, the base portion comprises a front end portion and a rear end portion, the annular convex rib is arranged on the periphery of the rear end portion, grooves are formed in the surface and the front end face of the front end portion, and a concave portion communicated with the grooves is formed in the surface of the cladding portion.
Preferably, the USB socket further includes a stopper disposed in the groove and the recessed portion, and the stopper includes a first plate portion fastened in the groove on the surface of the front end portion, a stopper portion bent and extended from the first plate portion and fastened in the groove on the front end surface of the front end portion, and a second plate portion bent and extended from the stopper portion and fastened in the recessed portion.
