receiving information indicating a transmission mode in coordinated multipoint operation (CoMP) from a Base Station (BS) among the plurality of BSs,

wherein the plurality of BSs and the UE are operable in the transmission mode, an

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the transmission mode is a non-coherent joint transmission, NCJT, mode.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the information is transmitted via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

changing an operation mode of CoMP according to the information.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

performing Channel State Information (CSI) processing with respect to each of the plurality of BSs based on the transmission mode,

wherein the CSI process is associated with CSI-RS resources for channel measurement.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

determining a precoding matrix indicator, PMI, for each of the plurality of BSs based on the transmission mode; and

transmitting a PMI for each of the plurality of BSs to each corresponding BS,

wherein CSI processing with respect to each of the plurality of base stations is used to determine the PMI.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the PMI is computed such that the function:

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the transmission mode is a non-coherent joint transmission, NCJT, mode.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein transmitting the information comprises:

the information is sent via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein operating modes of CoMP are changed by the UE according to the information.

12. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

performing Channel State Information (CSI) processing with respect to the BS and the UE,

wherein the CSI process is associated with CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources for channel measurement.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising:

receiving a PMI for the BS from the UE,

wherein the PMI is determined by using a CSI process with respect to the BS and other CSI processes with respect to other BSs of the plurality of BSs based on the transmission mode.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the PMI is computed such that the function:
