The electronic device of claim 1 or 2, wherein the random access preamble indicates identification information of the or more transmit beams on a base station side paired with the or more receive beams on a terminal device side.

The electronic device of claim 3, wherein the random access preamble indicates identification information of the or more transmit beams on a base station side paired with the or more receive beams on a terminal device side by:

the random access preamble includes a preamble sequence which itself represents identification information of the transmission beam.

The electronic device of claim 1, wherein a single transmission of a random access preamble can indicate identification information of a single transmit beam.

The electronic device of any of claims 3-5, wherein the random access configuration information further includes a correspondence of base station side beams to a plurality of random access occasions, the processing circuitry further configured to:

repeatedly transmitting the random access preamble in a transmission beam corresponding to the or more reception beams on the terminal device side based on the correspondence.

The electronic device of any of claims , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

the random access preamble is transmitted in a specific random access occasion indicating identification information of or more transmission beams on the base station side paired with or more reception beams on the terminal device side in the downlink.

The electronic device of claim 7, wherein the random access configuration information further includes a correspondence of a base station side beam to a plurality of random access occasions, and in case that an uplink and a downlink between the base station and the terminal device satisfy beam symmetry, the processing circuitry is further configured to transmit a random access preamble by:

determining or more reception beams on the base station side and or more transmission beams on the terminal device side matched in the uplink based on the beam symmetry;

determining or more random access occasions corresponding to the or more beams on the base station side from the plurality of random access occasions based on the correspondence, and

transmitting a random access preamble in the or more transmit beams on the terminal device side in at least portions of the or more random access occasions.

The electronic device of any one of claims 6-8, , wherein the base station side beam correspondence with the plurality of random access occasions comprises base station side multi-rank beam correspondence with the plurality of random access occasions.

The electronic device of any of claims 6-9, wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

a subsequent uplink message through a random access preamble indicates the or more transmit beams on the base station side paired with the or more receive beams on the terminal device side in the downlink.

The electronic device of any preceding claim , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

in case retransmission of the random access preamble is required, the terminal device side transmit beam that is most correlated to the previous transmit beam direction is preferentially used for the retransmission, wherein the direction correlation comprises that the transmit directions are adjacent or at least partially overlapping.

The electronic device of claim 2, wherein the synchronization signal corresponds to a synchronization signal block comprising a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, and a PBCH, the processing circuitry further configured to receive multiple synchronization signal blocks transmitted by different base station side transmit beams in a centralized time domain, the base station side transmit beam corresponding to the synchronization signal block in which signal reception quality satisfies a predetermined condition being the base station side transmit beam paired with the terminal device.

The electronic device of claim 12, wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to determine a transmit beam used by the base station to transmit the synchronization signal block by the reference signal sequence itself in the synchronization signal block that satisfies the predetermined condition.

The electronic device of claim 12, wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to determine, from the additional information bits in the synchronization signal block that satisfy the predetermined condition, a transmission beam used by the base station to transmit the synchronization signal block.

The electronic device of any preceding claim , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to receive radio resource control signaling and to obtain the random access configuration information therefrom.

The electronic device of any preceding claim , wherein the electronic device is operable as the terminal device and further comprises or more radio frequency links, each radio frequency link connected to multiple antennas and phase shifters thereof, the processing circuitry being configured to configure the phase shifters of the multiple antennas according to a beam direction matched to a base station side beam such that the multiple antennas transmit the random access preamble to a base station through beamforming.

The electronic device of claim 16, wherein the wireless communication system is a fifth generation New Radio communication system and the base station is a gNB.

an electronic device for use on a base station side in a wireless communication system, comprising processing circuitry configured to:

sending random access configuration information; and

the random access preamble transmitted from the terminal device is received to obtain or more transmit beams on the base station side paired with or more receive beams on the terminal device side in downlink.

The electronic device of claim 18, wherein the or more transmit beams on the base station side that are paired with the or more receive beams on the terminal device side are determined by the terminal device based on receiving a synchronization signal.

The electronic device of claim 18 or 19, wherein the random access preamble indicates identification information of the or more transmit beams on a base station side paired with the or more receive beams on a terminal device side.

The electronic device of claim 20, wherein the random access preamble indicates identification information of the or more transmit beams paired with a base station side of the or more receive beams of a terminal device side by:

the random access preamble includes a preamble sequence which itself represents the identification information ID of the transmission beam.

The electronic device of claim 18, wherein a single transmission of a random access preamble can indicate identification information of a single transmit beam.

The electronic device of any of claims 20-22, wherein the random access configuration information further includes a correspondence of base station side beams to a plurality of random access occasions, the processing circuitry further configured to:

and receiving the random access preamble in a beam of a base station side based on the corresponding relation.

The electronic device of any of claims 18-22, wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

the random access preamble is received in a specific random access occasion indicating identification information of or more transmission beams on the base station side paired with or more reception beams on the terminal device side in downlink.

The electronic device of claim 24, wherein the random access configuration information further includes a correspondence of a base station side beam to a plurality of random access occasions, and the processing circuitry is further configured to receive a random access preamble by, in the case that an uplink and a downlink between the base station and the terminal device satisfy beam symmetry:

receiving the random access preamble in a receiving beam of a base station side based on the corresponding relation;

determining a reception beam on which the random access preamble is received; and

and determining a transmitting beam corresponding to the receiving beam on the base station side based on the beam symmetry.

The electronic device of any one of claims 23-25, , wherein the base station-side beam correspondence with the plurality of random access occasions comprises base station-side multi-rank beam correspondence with the plurality of random access occasions.

The electronic device of any of claims 23-26, wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

obtaining the or more transmit beams on the base station side in the downlink paired with the or more receive beams on the terminal device side from an uplink message subsequent to the random access preamble.

The electronic device of claim 19, wherein the synchronization signal corresponds to a synchronization signal block comprising a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, and a PBCH, the processing circuitry further configured to transmit a plurality of synchronization signal blocks over different base station side transmit beams in a centralized time domain.

The electronic device of claim 28, wherein the synchronization signal block instructs the base station of the transmit beam information used for transmitting the synchronization signal block through a reference signal sequence in the synchronization signal block itself.

The electronic device of claim 28, wherein the synchronization signal block further includes an additional information bit by which to instruct a base station to transmit the transmission beam information used by the synchronization signal block.

The electronic device of any preceding claim , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to transmit radio resource control signaling to transmit the random access configuration information to a terminal device.

The electronic device of claim 31, wherein the wireless communication system is a fifth generation New Radio communication system and the base station is a gNB.

a method of wireless communication, comprising:

obtaining random access configuration information; and

transmitting a random access preamble to indicate or more transmission beams on the base station side paired with or more reception beams on the terminal device side in downlink based on the random access configuration information.

a method of wireless communication, comprising:

sending random access configuration information; and

the random access preamble transmitted from the terminal device is received to obtain or more transmit beams on the base station side paired with or more receive beams on the terminal device side in downlink.
