Technical Field

The invention relates to a furniture hinge.

Background

Generally, a four-bar furniture hinge facilitates opening and closing of a movable member (e.g., a door panel) of a piece of furniture relative to a stationary member (e.g., a cabinet). For example, U.S. patent publication No. US 6,401,298B 1 discloses a furniture hinge comprising a hinge housing and a hinge arm that can be mounted to different furniture components and are interconnected by hinge links, such as four links (or shafts) 9,10,11, 12. In this case, a compression spring (e.g. a leg spring) acts on a hinge link, and a part of the compression spring is wound around a hinge axis (hinge) on which the compression spring is mounted. This patent is incorporated herein by reference. However, fig. 3(fig.3) of the aforementioned patent shows that the U-shaped leg spring (U-shaped leg spring)13 is installed and wound (wound) around a hinge shaft (hinge axis) 11, and if the U-shaped leg spring is not yet assembled with the third shaft, the U-shaped leg spring is not fixed at a predetermined position against the hinge arm (hinge arm) 1.

Alternatively, as disclosed in french patent publication FR 2482998 a2, a hinge includes four shafts a, b, c, d, wherein, as shown in fig. 1 and 2 of the patent, the spring 40 surrounds or covers one shaft d to provide elastic force for the movable member 2 to open or close relative to the fixed member 10.

Alternatively, for example, JP S60148472U discloses a hinge, which includes a leaf spring 52 surrounding or covering a shaft 51 for providing elastic force for opening or closing the hinge.

Alternatively, as disclosed in U.S. patent No. US 5022117 a, a furniture hinge with a closing mechanism, a portion of a leaf spring 34 is held stationary by one pin 32, and the leaf spring 34 surrounds the other pin 37.

It can be seen that in the four-piece patent reference, the springs are substantially mounted on the rod body of the four-bar linkage (shaft or pin) in a surrounding and covering manner. However, depending on the market demand, the cost of materials or the way in which the spring is mounted on the hinge may contact one of the four-bar linkages (shaft or pin) and cause the hinge to wear or abrade over a long period of time when opened or closed.

In view of the foregoing, there is still a need for improvement, and the present invention is developed.

Disclosure of Invention

The invention aims to provide a furniture hinge which is provided with four shaft elements, and an elastic mechanism of the furniture hinge can provide elasticity for the furniture hinge to open or close.

According to one aspect of the present invention, a furniture hinge includes an arm member, a housing, an inner connecting member, an outer connecting member, and an elastic device. The shell can be opened or closed relative to the arm piece; the inner connecting piece is provided with a first end part and a second end part, the first end part of the inner connecting piece is pivoted with the arm piece through a first shaft piece, and the second end part of the inner connecting piece is pivoted with the shell through a second shaft piece; the outer connecting piece is provided with a first end part and a second end part, the first end part of the outer connecting piece is pivoted with the arm piece through a third shaft piece, and the second end part of the outer connecting piece is pivoted with the shell through a fourth shaft piece; the elastic device provides an elastic force to act between the shell and the arm piece; the elastic device is not contacted with the shaft periphery of one of the first shaft piece, the second shaft piece, the third shaft piece and the fourth shaft piece.

Preferably, the arm member includes at least one wall including a first mounting structure, and the resilient means includes a second mounting structure for mounting to the first mounting structure.

Preferably, the elastic device includes a first elastic member, the first elastic member includes a first elastic portion, a second elastic portion and a first bending portion connected between the first elastic portion and the second elastic portion, and the first elastic portion of the first elastic member has the second mounting structure.

Detailed Description

As shown in FIG. 1, a furniture hinge 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention is adapted for use with a furniture component 22. The furniture assembly 22 includes a first furniture member 24 (e.g., a cabinet) and a second furniture member 26 (e.g., a door panel). Wherein the second furniture member 26 can be opened or closed relative to the first furniture member 24.

The furniture hinge 20 includes an arm 28 and a housing 30. The arm 28 is a hinged arm. The arm member 28 can be mounted to the first furniture member 24. For example, the arm member 28 is connected to the first furniture member 24 by a threaded connection. Here, the arm member 28 is mounted to the first furniture member 24 by a fitting 32. The housing 30, on the other hand, is a hinge cup and has a chamber 34. The housing 30 is mountable to the second furniture member 26. For example, the housing 30 is connected to the second furniture piece 26 by screwing.

as shown in fig. 2 and 3, the arm member 28 of the furniture hinge 20 includes at least one wall, and the at least one wall includes a first mounting structure 36. Here, it is exemplified that the arm member 28 includes a first wall 38a, a second wall 38b, and a third wall 38c (or a middle wall 38c) connected between the first wall 38a and the second wall 38b, and the first mounting structure 36 is located on the third wall 38 c. Further, the first wall 38a and the second wall 38b are substantially perpendicular to the third wall 38c, and the first wall 38a, the second wall 38b and the third wall 38c define a receiving space 40 for receiving the related components of the furniture hinge 20.

as shown in fig.3 and 4, the furniture hinge 20 further includes an inner connecting member 42, an outer connecting member 44 and a resilient device 46.

The inner connecting member 42 has a first end 48a and a second end 48b opposite the first end 48 a. On the other hand, the outer connecting member 44 has a first end 50a and a second end 50b opposite to the first end 50 a. The resilient means 46 includes a second mounting structure 52, the second mounting structure 52 being configured to be mounted to the first mounting structure 36 of the arm member 28 (see fig. 5 and 7). The first mounting structure 36 and the second mounting structure 52 can be configured to be convex or concave. In this embodiment, the first mounting structure 36 is a protrusion, and the second mounting structure 52 is a groove or hole for mounting the protrusion. However, in practice, the second mounting structure 52 may be a protrusion, and the first mounting structure 36 may be a groove or a hole, which is not limited in implementation. According to this arrangement, it is possible to keep the elastic means 46 fixed in advance at a predetermined position of the arm member 28.

Preferably, the elastic device 46 includes a first elastic member 54 and a second elastic member 56. Preferably, the first elastic element 54 and the second elastic element 56 are U-shaped elastic pieces. The first elastic member 54 and the second elastic member 56 support and abut against each other. Further, the first elastic element 54 includes a first elastic portion 58, a second elastic portion 60 and a first bending portion 62 connected between the first elastic portion 58 and the second elastic portion 60; the second elastic member 56 includes a third elastic portion 64, a fourth elastic portion 66 and a second bending portion 68 connected between the third elastic portion 64 and the fourth elastic portion 66, the third elastic portion 64, the fourth elastic portion 66 and the second bending portion 68 of the second elastic member 56 define a space 70, and the space 70 is used for accommodating the first elastic member 54. The third elastic portion 64, the fourth elastic portion 66 and the second bent portion 68 of the second elastic member 56 are respectively located at positions corresponding to the first elastic portion 58, the second elastic portion 60 and the first bent portion 62 of the first elastic member 54. The third elastic portion 64 of the second elastic member 56 and the ends E1 and E2 of the first elastic portion 58 of the first elastic member 54 are substantially aligned with each other, and the fourth elastic portion 66 of the second elastic member 56 and the ends E3 and E4 of the second elastic portion 60 of the first elastic member 54 are substantially aligned with each other. The third elastic portion 64 and the fourth elastic portion 66 of the second elastic member 56 can respectively provide the first elastic portion 58 and the second elastic portion 60 of the first elastic member 54 to abut against each other, so that the first elastic member 54 and the second elastic member 56 form a double-layer elastic structure. In another embodiment, the first elastic portion 58 of the first elastic member 54 can also have the second mounting structure 52.

As shown in fig. 6 and 7, the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) can be opened relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24). On the other hand, the elastic device 46 provides an elastic force acting between the housing 30 and the arm 28. And the second mounting structure 52 of the resilient device 46 is mounted or positioned to the first mounting structure 36 of the arm member 28.

Further, the first end 48a of the inner connecting member 42 is pivotally connected to the arm 28 via a first shaft 72, and the second end 48b of the inner connecting member 42 is pivotally connected to the housing 30 via a second shaft 74. On the other hand, the first end 50a of the outer connecting member 44 is pivotally connected to the arm member 28 via a third shaft member 76, and the second end 50b of the outer connecting member 44 is pivotally connected to the housing 30 via a fourth shaft member 78. Preferably, the second elastic portion 60 of the first elastic member 54 and/or the fourth elastic portion 66 of the second elastic member 56 are used for providing the first end 48a of the inner connecting member 42 to abut against; preferably, the furniture hinge 20 further includes a sleeve 80 attached to the adjacent first end 48a of the inner connecting member 42, and the second resilient portion 60 of the first resilient member 54 and/or the fourth resilient portion 66 of the second resilient member 56 have corresponding guiding surfaces 82, such as an arc-shaped surface 82. The guide surface 82 is configured to contact the sleeve 80 when the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) is opened relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24). Preferably, the sleeve 80 comprises a plastic material, and a portion of the sleeve 80 surrounds the periphery of the first shaft 72.

In addition, the first elastic portion 58 and the third elastic portion 64 of the elastic device 46 are abutted against the inner wall of the third wall 38c of the arm member 28; on the other hand, the second elastic portion 60 and the fourth elastic portion 66 of the elastic device 46 are abutted against the sleeve 80.

As shown in fig. 6 and 8, the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) can be operated by a user to open and close relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24). Wherein, when the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) is opened to be closed relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24), the elastic device 46 provides an elastic force between the housing 30 and the arm member 28, so that the housing 30 can have a force (e.g., a closing force) when being opened to be closed relative to the arm member 28.

As shown in fig. 8 and 9, when the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) is closed relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24), the sleeve member 80 is away from the guiding surface 82, and the first end portion 48a of the inner connecting member 42 can abut against the second elastic portion 60 and the fourth elastic portion 66 of the elastic device 46 through the sleeve member 80. In addition, the inner connector 42 and the outer connector 44 can be accommodated in the chamber 34 of the housing 30.

It should be noted that the elastic device 46 does not contact (or move away from) the shaft periphery P of one of the first shaft element 72, the second shaft element 74, the third shaft element 76 and the fourth shaft element 78. Therefore, the length of the elastic device 46 (e.g., the first elastic member 54 or the second elastic member 56) can be reduced compared to the prior art, thereby saving material. In addition, as shown in fig. 6 to 9, by the installation of the first installation structure 36 and the second installation structure 52, when the housing 30 (or the second furniture member 26) is opened to closed or closed to opened relative to the arm member 28 (or the first furniture member 24), the elastic device 46 does not abut against one of the first shaft member 72, the second shaft member 74, the third shaft member 76 and the fourth shaft member 78. In other words, the elastic device 46 is not supported by the first shaft 72, the second shaft 74, the third shaft 76 or the fourth shaft 78.

Fig. 10 shows an embodiment of a furniture hinge 200 according to a second embodiment of the present invention applied to a furniture assembly 202. Specifically, the elastic device 46 is different from the first embodiment in that the first elastic member 54 and the second elastic member 56 form a double-layer elastic structure. The elastic device 204 of the furniture hinge 200 of this second embodiment comprises a first elastic member 206, and the first elastic member 206 can be pre-processed and can also be folded to form a double-layer elastic structure. The second mounting structure 212 of the first resilient member 206 of the resilient device 204 is configured to be mounted to the first mounting structure 210 of the arm member 208 of the resilient device 204.

Fig. 11 shows an implementation of the furniture hinge 300 according to the third embodiment of the present invention applied to a furniture component 302. Specifically, the elastic device 46 is different from the first embodiment in that the first elastic member 54 and the second elastic member 56 form a double-layer elastic structure. The elastic device 304 of the furniture hinge 300 of this third embodiment comprises a first elastic element 306, and the first elastic element 306 is a single-layer elastic structure. The second mounting structure 312 of the first resilient member 306 of the resilient device 304 is configured to be mounted to the first mounting structure 310 of the arm member 308 of the resilient device 304.

From the above description, it can be seen that the enhanced efficacy and advantages of the present invention are:

(1) The elastic device 46 does not contact (or move away from) the shaft periphery P of one of the first shaft element 72, the second shaft element 74, the third shaft element 76 and the fourth shaft element 78. Therefore, the length of the resilient means 46 can be reduced compared to the prior art, thereby saving material.

(2) By the cooperation of the first mounting structure 36 and the second mounting structure 52, the resilient device 46 does not abut against one of the first shaft 72, the second shaft 74, the third shaft 76 and the fourth shaft 78 when the housing 30 is opened and closed relative to the arm 28.

(3) The third elastic portion 64 of the second elastic member 56 and the ends E1, E2 of the first elastic portion 58 of the first elastic member 54 are substantially aligned with each other, and the fourth elastic portion 66 of the second elastic member 56 and the ends E3, E4 of the second elastic portion 60 of the first elastic member 54 are substantially aligned with each other.

(4) The elastic device can be fixed at a preset position in advance during the assembling process, and the stability of the elastic configuration of the furniture hinge can be ensured.
