1. A process for the preparation of a (co) polyester, wherein the (co) polyester consists at least partly of dicarboxylic acid 1, 4-butanediol units, said process being carried out in a degassing apparatus wherein the crude (co) polyester is degassed at a pressure of 5 to 300mbar in the presence of 0.1 to 5 wt% of an entrainer based on the total weight of the feed.

2. A process for the preparation of a polymer mixture comprising one or more (co) polyesters composed at least partly of dicarboxylic acid 1, 4-butanediol units in a degassing device which simultaneously serves as mixing unit, wherein the crude (co) polyester is mixed and degassed at a pressure of 0.1 to 300mbar, optionally with other polymers and auxiliaries, in the presence of 0.1 to 5% by weight of entrainer, based on the total weight of the polymer mixture.

3. The process of claim 1 or 2, wherein the entrainer is water.

4. A process according to claims 1 to 3, wherein an entrainer is introduced into the gas space of the degassing device.

5. The process according to claims 1 to 4, wherein the degassing device is an extruder and the degassing is carried out with an average residence time of 0.1 to 2 minutes.

6. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the internal temperature of the degassing device is from 200 ℃ to 250 ℃.

7. The process of claim 1, wherein degassing is carried out in the presence of 0.3 to 2 wt% of entrainer water, based on the total weight of the crude (co) polyester.

8. The process of claim 2, wherein degassing is carried out in the presence of 0.3 to 3 wt% of entrainer water, based on the total weight of the polymer mixture.

9. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the (co) polyester is polybutylene succinate, polybutylene succinate-co-adipate, polybutylene succinate-co-sebacate, polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate and/or polybutylene sebacate-co-terephthalate.

10. The process according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein degassing is carried out at a pressure of 5 to 100 mbar.

11. The process according to claim 2 or 8, wherein the resulting polymer mixture has a residual THF content of less than 10ppm, preferably less than 1 ppm.
