A vehicle drive device (28), the vehicle drive device (28) comprising: a motor (22) as a driving force source; a speed reduction mechanism (30) that outputs the rotation of the motor (22) while reducing the speed of the rotation by the speed reduction mechanism (30); a differential mechanism (32) that distributes the driving force transmitted from the speed reduction mechanism (30) to a pair of drive shafts (24L, 24R) connected to the left and right drive wheels (26L, 26R); and a differential limiting mechanism (36), wherein the differential limiting mechanism (36) has a friction clutch (73), and the differential limiting torque limiting the differential action of the differential mechanism (32) can be controlled by controlling the engagement torque of the friction clutch (73), and the vehicle drive device (28) is characterized in that,

the electric motor (22) and the differential limiting mechanism (36) are disposed separately from each other with the speed reducing mechanism (30) and the differential mechanism (32) therebetween.

2. The vehicular drive apparatus (28) according to claim 1,

the speed reduction mechanism (30) and the differential mechanism (32) are accommodated in a first accommodation space (34) formed in a case (29) together with the lubricating oil,

the differential limiting mechanism (36) is accommodated in a second accommodating space (35) formed in the case,

the first housing space (34) and the second housing space (35) are separated liquid-tightly by sealing members (65, 67).

3. The vehicular drive apparatus (28) according to claim 2,

the seal members (65, 67) are disposed at positions that prevent the lubricating oil contained in the first containing space (34) from contacting the surroundings of the heat generating portions (70, 84, 88) of the differential limiting mechanism (36).

4. The vehicular drive apparatus (28) according to any one of claims 1 to 3,

the electric motor (22) and the differential limiting mechanism (36) are disposed so as to be separated from each other in the vehicle width direction with the speed reducing mechanism (30) and the differential mechanism (32) interposed therebetween.

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a vehicle drive device that outputs power of an electric motor as a drive power source to right and left drive wheels via a differential mechanism.

Background

A vehicle drive device is proposed, which is provided with: an electric motor as a driving force source; a speed reduction mechanism that increases and outputs a driving force of the motor; a differential mechanism that distributes a driving force output from the speed reduction mechanism to a pair of drive shafts connected to left and right drive wheels; and a differential limiting mechanism having a friction clutch, the differential limiting mechanism being capable of controlling a differential limiting torque that limits a differential action of the differential mechanism by controlling an engagement torque of the friction clutch. The structure described in fig. 1 of patent document 1 is such a vehicle drive device.

In the vehicle drive device, heat is generated by driving the electric motor, and in the differential limiting mechanism having the friction clutch, for example, the friction clutch is a heat generating part and generates heat. In the vehicle drive device of patent document 1, the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed at positions close to each other, and therefore, they receive heat from each other. Therefore, for example, if the load (thermal load) due to heat of the differential limiting mechanism is increased by transferring heat generated by driving the electric motor to the differential limiting mechanism, a countermeasure of limiting the operation time of the differential limiting mechanism is required to secure the cooling time of the differential limiting mechanism, and as a result, there is a problem of performance degradation.

Disclosure of Invention

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a vehicle drive device including an electric motor, a differential mechanism that transmits a drive force of the electric motor via a speed reduction mechanism, and a differential limiting mechanism that limits a differential action of the differential mechanism, wherein a heat load caused by mutual heat between the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism can be suppressed.

A first aspect of the present invention is (a) a vehicle drive device including: an electric motor as a driving force source; a speed reduction mechanism that reduces the speed of rotation of the motor and outputs the reduced speed; a differential mechanism that distributes a driving force transmitted from the speed reduction mechanism to a pair of drive shafts connected to left and right drive wheels; and a differential limiting mechanism having a friction clutch and capable of controlling a differential limiting torque that limits a differential action of the differential mechanism by controlling an engagement torque of the friction clutch, wherein (b) the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed separately from each other with the speed reducing mechanism and the differential mechanism interposed therebetween.

A second aspect of the present invention is the vehicle drive device according to the first aspect, wherein (a) the speed reduction mechanism and the differential mechanism are accommodated together with the lubricating oil in a first accommodation space formed inside a case, (b) the differential limiting mechanism is accommodated in a second accommodation space formed inside the case, and (c) the first accommodation space and the second accommodation space are separated liquid-tightly by a seal member.

A third aspect of the present invention is the vehicle drive device according to the second aspect, wherein the seal member is disposed at a position that prevents the lubricant oil contained in the first containing space from contacting the periphery of the heat generating portion of the differential limiting mechanism.

A fourth technical means is the vehicle drive device according to any one of the first to third technical means, wherein the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed so as to be separated from each other in a vehicle width direction with the speed reducing mechanism and the differential mechanism interposed therebetween.

According to the vehicle drive device of the first aspect, since the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed separately with the speed reducing mechanism and the differential mechanism interposed therebetween, heat reception between the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism can be suppressed, and heat load on the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism can be suppressed from increasing due to heat reception between the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism.

Further, according to the vehicle drive device pertaining to the second aspect, the lubricating oil housed in the first housing space can be inhibited from reciprocating in the second housing space and being heated from the differential limiting mechanism, and the heat generated in the differential limiting mechanism can be inhibited from being transmitted to the electric motor via the lubricating oil.

Further, according to the vehicle drive device pertaining to the third aspect, it is possible to suppress as much as possible the inflow of heat from the differential limiting mechanism into the lubricating oil housed in the first housing space.

Further, according to the vehicle drive device pertaining to the fourth aspect, since the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed so as to be separated left and right in the vehicle width direction with the reduction mechanism and the differential mechanism interposed therebetween, the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism are disposed at positions that are distant in the vehicle width direction, and heat reception between the electric motor and the differential limiting mechanism can be suppressed.
