Technical Field

The present invention relates to a vehicle having a seal assembly.

Background

In vehicles of this type having a seal assembly, the seal assembly has a seal with a seal foot, by means of which the seal is fixed on the vehicle body or on a vehicle component which is fixedly connected to the vehicle body or is displaceably connected relative to the vehicle body. The sealing foot is at least partially (or completely) removed from the seal in a cut or stamped section.

A seal for such vehicles is known from WO 2015/185122 a 1. In the seal disclosed in this document, the sealing foot is cut in sections in order to be able to easily access the adjusting screw arranged in the region of the sealing foot.

Known seals for vehicles are glued to the vehicle by means of such sealing feet or are fixed to the vehicle by inserting the sealing feet into fixing grooves.

By cutting or punching out sections of the sealing feet, that is to say at least partially removing the sealing feet, the sealing can be optimized at critical locations of the installation space. However, it is disadvantageous here that the original fastening solution, which is intended to ensure a precise position of the seal at the installation location, is locally dispensed with at this section of the seal. Such non-defined sections have a negative impact on the optics and functionality of the seal. Here, the seal can move locally and form different deformation properties compared to the uncut region, which can negatively affect the appearance and the function of the seal.

Disclosure of Invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle with a sealing arrangement, which overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages.

This object is achieved by the vehicle according to the invention.

A vehicle with a seal assembly is proposed, wherein the seal assembly has a seal with a seal foot, by means of which the seal is fixed on a vehicle body or on a vehicle part, which is fixedly connected or displaceably connected to the vehicle body, and the seal foot is at least partially removed from the seal in a cut-out or stamped-out section. According to the invention, the seal is fixed and/or fastened to the vehicle body or the vehicle part in the cut or stamped section by means of a separate fastening element.

Advantageously, such a separate fixing element ensures a correct positioning of the seal in the stamped or cut sealing section and produces uniform sealing and deformation properties of the seal. It is thus achieved that the position is continuously maintained over the entire sealing length in that the seal is locked in the cut or stamped section by means of a separate fixing element.

The preferred embodiments of the invention result from the preferred embodiments.

In a first preferred embodiment of the vehicle according to the invention, the fixing element has a clamp or is configured as a clamp, wherein the clamp partially surrounds the seal and prevents the seal from sliding or shifting in the cut or stamped section. Such a clamp offers the following advantages: the cut sealing section which can be partially enclosed by it is simply and reliably fixed.

Preferably, the fixing element has a section with a U-shaped cross section, which partially receives the seal, wherein both sides of the U-shaped cross section are preferably oriented horizontally. Here, the above-mentioned clip can be defined by the U-shaped cross section.

In this case, an embodiment is particularly preferred in which the section with the U-shaped cross section grips and secures the remaining cross section of the sealing foot remaining on the seal, cut or stamped, with a force-locking and/or form-locking manner on both sides of the U-shaped cross section.

The seal can thus be simply inserted or inserted into the region between the two legs of the U-shaped cross section and clamped by means of said legs.

Alternatively or additionally, the connecting section connecting the two legs of the U-shaped cross section can support and fix, together with one leg, the remaining, cut or stamped cross section of the sealing foot remaining on the seal on two sides perpendicular to one another. The seal can thus be supported and fixed from three sides by the two edges and by the connecting section. The fastening of the sealing element in this region by means of a groove for inserting the sealing foot or by means of an adhesive connection of the sealing foot can thus be dispensed with without significant disadvantages.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, at least one side of the U-shaped cross section is directed and/or curved inwards. This is to be understood as meaning that the two legs of the U-shaped cross section are no longer oriented parallel, but rather that at least one leg extends in the direction of the adjacent leg. This provides the following advantages: the clamping action and thus the fixing of the fixing element around the remaining cross section of the sealing foot is improved.

In order to improve the force-locking even further, the fastening element can have projecting ribs, by means of which the seal is prevented from sliding or shifting in the cut or stamped section.

Such projecting ribs can be arranged in particular within the aforementioned U-shaped cross section and then preferably are oriented substantially towards the center of the U-shaped cross section. This provides the following advantages: the clamping action of the separate fixing element is further improved.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of this variant, the fastening element is designed as an extruded metal profile which forms a clip having a U-shaped cross section, and the projecting ribs are extruded onto the U-shaped cross section. The corresponding projecting rib is therefore already molded when the fastening element is produced.

Conversely or additionally, a thickened portion or additional material can also be provided on the seal itself in the cut or stamped section of the seal in order to improve the force-locking. This additional material or thickening can be extruded, injection molded or glued onto the remaining cross section of the cut or stamped sealing foot, whereby the force-fit of the U-shaped cross section with the remaining cross section of the sealing foot is also improved.

The additional material or a thickening of this material can subsequently be attached to the basic shape of the seal. This provides the following advantages: the additional material can consist of a different basic material than the seal itself, so that, for example, a material optimized with regard to the fixing of the seal in the cut or stamped section can be used.

Preferably, the sealing assembly is arranged on the vehicle roof or on the vehicle roof module.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the vehicle has a cover for selectively covering an opening in the vehicle body in the closed position and at least partially releasing the opening in the release position, and the cut or stamped section is arranged in the region of the cover. This provides the following advantages: the seal occupies less installation space in the region of the opening. In particular, it is possible to prevent the sealing foot from protruding into the opening and to limit access to the fastening point in the released position.

In this case, it can be provided that the U-shaped cross section of the fastening element, for example a clip, which can have the fastening element, at the same time forms the edge of the opening. On this edge, in the closed position of the cover flap, the lower handle or the latching hook can form a force-locking connection with the U-shaped cross section and fix or latch the cover flap in the closed position. To release the cover, the latching connection of the latching hook can be released manually.

In all of the described embodiments of the invention, the sealing feet of the seal can be glued to the vehicle body or vehicle part outside the cut or stamped section or can be inserted into the fastening groove. This provides a secure fixation of the seal in the area outside the stamped or cut section.

The seal, outside the cut or stamped section, therefore does not need to be fixed and/or fastened to the vehicle body or to the vehicle part by means of a separate fastening element, and a separate fastening element can be dispensed with here.

Detailed Description

Fig. 1 shows a top view of a body of a vehicle according to the invention. The vehicle longitudinal direction extends from left to right in fig. 1. Side windows and doors as well as windshields and other vehicle components are not shown or have not been assembled.

Along the longitudinal beam 24 of the vehicle, a fixed stop 36 is provided, which is also oriented in the vehicle longitudinal direction and is attached to the longitudinal beam 24. In the fixed flap 36, a shutter cover 12 is provided, which is shown in fig. 1 as in the subsequent figures in the closed position, in which it blocks the opening 14 located therebelow and thus closes it (see fig. 3). In the opening 14 below the cover 12, fastening points for a detachably mountable roof rack (Dachreling) are provided, which can be released by removing or opening the cover 12 in order to mount the roof rack.

A seal 16 is arranged along the fixed flap 36, also in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and serves to seal the gap between the fixed flap 36 and the longitudinal beam 24.

FIG. 2 shows a cross-section of the vehicle of FIG. 1 along line A-A. The longitudinal beam 24 of fig. 1, which is cut away in the illustration of fig. 2, forms part of the vehicle outer surface 38. The fixed blind 36 is arranged adjacent to the vehicle outer surface 38 and further inside in the horizontal direction in the roof. On the underside of the fixed flap 36, the latter is configured with downwardly directed ribs 44. The sealing element 16 is glued to the securing flap 36 from below in this region by means of a gluing 42, wherein the ribs 44 of the securing flap 36 serve as a stop and guide for positioning the sealing element 16. In the state in which the seal 16 has been fitted onto the underside of the fixed stop 36, the rib 44 supports the seal 16 and thus prevents the seal 16 from being displaced when the seal 16 forms a sealing action with the longitudinal beam 24 of the vehicle. In order to improve the sealing action with the longitudinal beam 24, the seal 16 has a sealing lip 17 which, without interacting with the longitudinal beam 24, is oriented horizontally as shown, but in practice swings elastically and bears sealingly against the longitudinal beam 24. The sealing element 16 also has a sealing foot 20 which is connected to the underside of the retaining flap 36 at the location of the cross section a-a (i.e. outside the region of the blind cover 12) by means of an adhesive 42 in order to fix the sealing element 16 to the retaining flap 36.

Fig. 3 shows a cross section of the vehicle body region where the shield cover 12 is disposed along the line B-B of fig. 1. Below the shutter cover 12 is an opening 14 which is blocked in the closed position of the shutter cover 12 and is accessible from above in the release position of the shutter cover 12. By releasing the opening 14, an area thereunder is accessible, which area can be used for assembling a removable roof rack or alternatively for assembling a roof carrier rack. In order to fix the cover 12 in the closed position, it has latching hooks 26 and a lower handle 22, by means of which the cover 12 can be latched in the vehicle roof. To release the opening 14, the cover 12 can be pivoted by releasing the latching hook 26 or can also be completely removed from the vehicle roof.

In the region of the shutter cover 12 and the opening 14, the securing flap 36 is of correspondingly narrow design. The section of fig. 3 also extends through the seal 16 of fig. 1 and 2, as does the section of fig. 2. However, the seal 16 is cut or punched in the region of the opening 14, so that only the remaining cross section 18 remains on the seal 16 in this case in comparison with the uncut sealing foot 20 of fig. 2. This provides the following advantages: the net horizontal width of the opening 14 is not limited by the uncut longer sealing leg 20 of fig. 2. This provides the following advantages: the seal 16 does not project into the opening 14 and prevents access to the fastening point of the removable roof rack.

Since in the region of the cross section of fig. 3 a large-area adhesive 42 of the uncut sealing foot 20 of fig. 2 is eliminated or must be at least smaller in area, an additional fastening element 10 is provided, by means of which the seal 16 is fastened and fixed directly or indirectly to the vehicle body in the region of the cut or stamped section. The fastening element 10 has a U-shaped clamp or a residual cross section 18 which is designed as such and surrounds the cut sealing foot on three sides. Only the third side of the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot is not enclosed by the fastening element 10, so that the seal 16 is simply inserted when it is being assembled, and the sealing lip 17 of the assembled seal 16 can also come out of the U-shaped clip of the fastening element 10 and form a sealing action with the longitudinal beam 28.

In the embodiment of fig. 3, depending on the thickness of the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot, at least one leg 31 of the U-shaped clip and the "bottom" of the U-shaped clip, which connects the two legs 31 as a connecting section 33, support the seal 16 in such a way that it can be held reliably in the desired position even without the large-area adhesive 42 of the uncut sealing foot 20 of fig. 2. In particular, when the seal 16 is deformed to create the sealing effect, the separate fixing element 10 supports the seal 16 against the force to which the seal 16 is subjected due to the elastic deformation of its sealing lip 17. In the embodiment of fig. 3, the sealing lip 17 is bent upward when the sealing action is established, whereby a horizontal force component and a vertical force component toward the center of the roof act on the seal 16. The U-shaped clamp of the fixing element 10 supports the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot against these two force components.

The two edges 31 and the connecting section 33 thus form a form-fit or material-fit with the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot for securely fixing the seal 16 to the vehicle roof, so that in this case large-area adhesive bonds 42 in the uncut sections of the seal 16 can be dispensed with.

In fig. 3, a further seal 40 is shown, which seals the fixed flap 36 against a fixed glass panorama or sliding roof, not shown.

By means of the embodiments of fig. 4, 5 and 6, additional measures and alternatives are proposed which offer the following advantages: the seal 16 is more stably fixed against displacement in the cut or punched section.

In fig. 4, the edge 32 of the U-shaped clip of the fastening element 10 is bent inward toward the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot 18. Preferably, the fastening element 10 is configured as an extruded metal rail, so that the edge 32 can be bent upward relatively easily for fastening the seal 16. A better clamping action is thus achieved between the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot and the fixing element 10.

In the embodiment according to fig. 5, the fixing element 10 has two ribs 28 which are arranged on both inner sides of the U-shaped clip and are oriented inwardly towards the remaining cross section 18 of the sealing foot being cut. At the same time, these ribs 28 can be formed simply and inexpensively with the fastening element 10 in a single pressing operation. Alternatively, the corresponding ribs 28 can also be subsequently attached, for example glued or injection-molded, to the fastening element. This provides the following advantages: the ribs 28 may be arranged only partially in the region of the cut or punched section of the seal 16.

In the embodiment of fig. 6, additional material in the form of a thickening 34 is arranged on the remaining cross section 18 of the cut sealing foot 8. This also provides the advantage of a better clamping action between the fixing element 10 and the seal 16.

The additional material of the thickening 34 (or of the thickenings) can be arranged, for example, in the region of the cut or punched section of the seal 16 during the (second) extrusion molding process, or can also be glued or injection molded onto the seal 16. Alternatively, the thickened portion 34 may also be glued to the seal 16. In both variants, it is possible to use the same material as that constituting the seal 16 itself, or an alternative material optimized in terms of the clamping action with the fixing element 10. Furthermore, it is alternatively also possible to form the sealing element 16 with a variable cross section during the production of the sealing element 16, wherein the thick cross section in the region of the individual fastening elements 10 increases the clamping effect.
