The method is mainly applied to calibration of the opening degree and the centering degree of the side guide plate of the finishing mill in the hot continuous rolling mill set, the problem of large deviation of the opening degree and the centering degree of the side guide plate can be solved by measuring different positions of the side guide plate and processing related data later, so that the positioning precision and the rolling stability of the side guide plate are ensured, and the accident rate of a production line is reduced.
