Technical Field

The invention relates to a device for electrically connecting a control cable to a plurality of injection valves. In particular, the invention relates to the field of injectors for motor vehicle fuel injection systems, in which fuel is preferably injected directly into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.

Background

DE 4325980 a1 discloses an apparatus for the common electrical contacting of a plurality of fuel injection valves of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine. The known device has a circuit board and a housing protecting the circuit board. Contact pins are provided on the fuel injection valve, by means of which the fuel injection valve is directly connected to conductor tracks of the circuit board. Here, problems occur in the connection plug attached to the circuit board. This relates to the vibration resistance of the connection between the pins of the connection plug and the conductor rails, the required sealing for the circuit board and the electromagnetic compatibility in the case of high currents. Furthermore, elaborate production steps, such as soldering, welding or screwing, are required in order to achieve the connection to the conductor rail.

Disclosure of Invention

In contrast, according to the invention, a device for electrically connecting a control cable to at least a plurality of injection valves is proposed, which device has a connection plug to which the control cable can be plugged and a plurality of contact points at which an electrical connection to one of the injection valves can be made in each case, wherein an electrical line is routed from the connection plug to the contact points, wherein a housing is provided, wherein the electrical line is routed at least in sections through the housing. According to the invention, the connection plug has a connection plug receptacle and a plug element which is inserted into the connection plug receptacle in the fitted state, wherein the plug element receives the end of the electrical line.

The device of the invention has the following advantages: improved configuration and functional manner can be achieved. Furthermore, a simplified assembly can be achieved.

The measures listed in the preferred embodiments represent advantageous embodiments of the device according to the invention.

The proposed device is used to electrically connect a control cable to a plurality of injection valves. The control cable and/or the control cable plug for the control cable are not an essential component of the device according to the invention. Furthermore, the injection valve is not an integral part of the device according to the invention. In particular, the device can also be manufactured and sold independently of the control cable and the injection valve.

Depending on the configuration of the device, the disadvantages of complex construction and high costs can be avoided. For example, additional holding devices can be saved. For example, according to one embodiment of the device, the connection plug receptacle is molded onto the housing. The following advantages are thereby obtained: no additional fixing means for the connecting plug on the cylinder head are required. Furthermore, additional fastening means for fastening the electrical lines to the cylinder head can be saved. Furthermore, the assembly process can be improved. In particular, long, free cable bundles which can interfere with the assembly of the fuel injection system and also with transport can be avoided. The proposed device makes it possible to make electrical contact with a control cable, which may be an integral part of a motor cable harness, directly on a connection plug that may be molded on the housing. In particular, the housing can be produced in an injection molding process, wherein the plug interface can be partially integrated into the housing and can therefore be produced from the same material.

In this case, according to an advantageous embodiment, an electrically conductive connecting element is fixed, in particular clamped, to the connector plug receptacle, which electrically conductive connecting element makes it possible to electrically connect the end of the electrical line and the control cable in the assembled state. Electrical contact with the control cable plug of the control cable can thereby be achieved. In particular, the electrically conductive connecting element can be clamped into a connecting plug receptacle, which is preferably produced by injection molding.

According to a further embodiment, it is provided that the connection plug receptacle is configured such that a control cable plug for the control cable can be plugged onto the connection plug receptacle for producing a detachable mechanical connection, wherein an electrical connection is produced between the electrical lines and the control cable in the assembled state. The following advantages are thereby obtained: the control cable plug can be fastened directly to the connection plug receptacle. Thereby, other interfaces are avoided.

According to a further development, it is provided that the plug elements have receiving bores through which the ends of the electrical lines are each guided, so that a through-opening is formed in the connector plug receptacle and the ends of the electrical lines guided through the receiving bores of the plug elements are fixed in the assembled state in the through-opening of the connector plug receptacle. The following advantages are thereby obtained: a secure fixing of the ends of the electrical conductors is ensured in the assembled state. This embodiment is easy to assemble, since no expensive assembly steps, such as soldering, welding or screwing, are required. Furthermore, a high mechanical resistance to vibrations is also obtained in operation and the like. Furthermore, an advantageous mechanical protection is obtained. Furthermore, a reliable sealing can be achieved in a simple manner when the control cable plug is fixed on the connection plug receptacle.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a line guide is provided, through which the electrical line is guided at least in sections. In this case, the line guide device preferably has a plurality of arms and each arm of the line guide device guides an electrical line assigned to a contact point to the contact point. Further preferably, at least one arm of the wire guide device is guided out of the housing. The advantageous possibilities for conducting the electrical lines through the housing and to the individual fuel injection valves are described here. In this case, the arm of the wire guide can advantageously have a certain mechanical flexibility in order to simplify assembly. The contact point to the injection valve can be realized here by a valve plug of the device. The valve plug can then be plugged onto the injection valve in a simple manner, which considerably simplifies assembly. The flexible arm of the line guide improves the assembly. At the same time, a reliable protection of the electrical line is ensured by the arms of the line guide.

The housing is advantageously multi-part. The two-part design is particularly advantageous here. In this case, it is provided according to one embodiment that the housing has a receiving part and a housing cover which is connected to the receiving part in the assembled state, and that the connection plug receptacle is molded on the receiving part. Particularly good assembly is thereby possible.

According to a further embodiment, a fastening arm is provided on the housing for fastening the housing to the fuel distributor and, in the assembled state, at least partially surrounds the tubular base body of the fuel distributor. In particular, the securing arm proposed according to this embodiment can be arranged on a receiving part of the housing.

Detailed Description

Fig. 1 shows a device 1 in a schematic perspective view corresponding to the first embodiment. The device 1 serves to electrically connect a control cable 2 (fig. 6), which may be a component of an engine cable harness, for example, to a plurality of schematically illustrated fuel injection valves 3, 4, 5, 6 of an internal combustion engine. A fuel distributor 7 having a tubular base body 8 is fixed to the cylinder head of the internal combustion engine. The device 1 is in turn fixed to a tubular base body 8 of the fuel distributor 7.

The device 1 has a multi-part housing 9 which may have a receiving part 10 and a housing cover 11. The housing 9 can be constructed, for example, by injection molding.

A plurality of holding arms 12 to 15 are arranged on the receiving part 10, said holding arms partially surrounding the tubular base body 8. The holding arms 12 to 15 can be designed such that the receiving part 10 can be clamped laterally to the tubular base body 8 by the holding arms 12 to 15. In the assembled state, the housing cover 11 is connected to the receiving part 10, as shown in fig. 1. Furthermore, retaining devices 16 to 19 are provided for fixing (screwing) the device 1 on, for example, an engine or a cylinder head.

Furthermore, the device 1 corresponding to the first embodiment is further described with reference also to fig. 2.

Fig. 2 shows the device 1 described in fig. 1 in a partial view in the open state. Here, the housing cover 11 is removed. In the receiving part 10, a line guide 20 is arranged, through which an electrical line 21 is guided (fig. 4). During assembly, the conductor guide 20 can be inserted into the receiving part 10 together with the electrical conductor guided through it. The line guide 20 has arms 22 to 25, wherein the electrical line 21 associated with the respective fuel injection valve 3 to 6 is guided through each arm to the contact points 26 to 29. In this exemplary embodiment, the contact points 26 to 29 are realized by valve plugs 30 to 33. The arms 22 to 26 are guided out of the housing. In this case, the valve plugs 30 to 33 can be easily fitted to the fuel injectors 3 to 6 due to the flexibility of the arms 22 to 25. In addition, a reliable protection of the electrical conductor 21 is obtained.

In the region 34, the electrical line 21 is connected to a connector plug 40. For the description of this, reference is made to fig. 4, according to which fig. 4 a corresponding configuration is realized.

In this exemplary embodiment, the connecting plug 40 is oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis 4 of the tubular base body 8 of the fuel distributor 7.

Fig. 3 shows a device 1 corresponding to a second exemplary embodiment in a schematic perspective view. In this exemplary embodiment, the connecting plug 40 is oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis 41 of the tubular base body 8 of the fuel distributor 7. Fig. 4 also shows the device 1 described in fig. 3 in a partially opened state. In this embodiment, the housing cover 11 faces the tubular base body 8. In this embodiment, the securing arms 12 to 15 can therefore be arranged on the housing cover 11.

The connection plug 40 has a connection plug receptacle 42 molded on the receiving part 10 of the housing 9. Furthermore, the connector 40 has a plug element 43 through which an end 44 of the electrical line 31 is guided. The electrical line 21 is then guided from the connection plug 40 to the valve plugs 30 to 33 through the line guide 20. Here, collars 45 to 48 are molded onto the receiving part 10, which on the one hand secure the arms 22 to 25 and on the other hand ensure the sealing of the interior 49 of the housing 9.

Fig. 5 shows a detail of the device 1 shown in fig. 3 corresponding to the second exemplary embodiment in a partial sectional view. The connector 40 has a connector receptacle 42, wherein the plug element 43 is inserted into a receptacle 50 of the connector receptacle 42 in the assembled state. One or more openings 51 can be provided in the receiving part 50 of the connector plug receptacle 42, into which the plug element 43 is snapped in. Furthermore, the connector plug receptacle 42 has a connecting part 52, in which a plurality of through openings 53,54 are formed. Here, only the through openings 53,54 are marked for simplifying the illustration.

In the following, the configuration of the device 1 is further described, also with reference to fig. 6.

Fig. 6 shows a detail of the device 1 shown in fig. 5 in the assembled state. Here, a controller 60 is also schematically shown, from which the control cable 2 is led to the device 1. In the assembled state, a control cable plug 61 provided on the control cable 2 is plugged onto the connection plug 40. The electrically conductive connecting elements 62,63 are inserted into the connecting part 52 of the connector plug receptacle 42. Fig. 6 shows connecting elements 62,63 arranged in the through-openings 53,54, the number of electrically conductive connecting elements corresponding to the number of electrical lines 21.

In fig. 6, two ends 64,65 are exemplarily marked from the end 44 of the electrical line 21 and shown in detail. The ends 64,65 of the electrical lines 21 are guided through the receiving openings 66,67 of the plug element 43. Furthermore, an intermediate element 68 can be provided for sealing, through which the end parts 64,65 likewise extend before they are clamped between the contact tongues 69, 70 of the connecting elements 62, 63. In this case, an electrical contact is produced by clamping action on the contact tongues 69, 70, so that an electrical connection to the control cable 2 can be made via the control cable plug 61 by the pins 71, 72 of the electrically conductive connecting elements 62, 63.

Therefore, in the assembled state, the end portions 64,65 are reliably fixed. The assembly can be carried out without expensive connecting methods, such as welding, soldering or screwing.

Furthermore, a high mechanical strength of the detachable mechanical connection 73 can be achieved between the connection plug 40 and the control cable plug 61, which at the same time ensures a seal in the assembled state.

Furthermore, in this exemplary embodiment, the connector plug receptacle 42 is designed such that the electrically conductive connecting elements 62,63 can be clamped in a simple manner into the connecting part 52.

Thus, a major advantage is obtained depending on the configuration of the device 1. The device 1 can be structurally adapted to any fuel distributor 7 and to the installation space available on the engine side. In particular, if the housing 9 is produced by injection molding, a plurality of embodiments can be realized at low production costs. In this case, any arrangement and orientation of the connection plug 40 can be largely achieved independently of the arrangement of the contact points 26 to 29, wherein the axial and radial orientation are described in accordance with the exemplary embodiment. In this case, the electrical line 21 can transmit signals for actuating the fuel injectors 3 to 6. Additionally, a part of the electrical line 21 can also be used for contacting sensors, in particular pressure sensors, temperature sensors and/or knock sensors. In this case, the conductor guide 20 with the arms 22 to 25 allows precise guidance of the position of the electrical conductor 21 and precise positioning of the valve plugs 30 to 33. Additional holding elements or fastening elements can thereby be dispensed with. Furthermore, there are no freely vibrating electrical leads. Furthermore, an advantageous preassembly is possible, which is easy to handle manually, transport and package. The final assembly is also significantly simplified, since, for example, assembly steps, such as pre-placement on special laying boards, are eliminated.

The invention is not limited to the described embodiments.
