Background

Sand casting is a casting which is made by using a mould and other process equipment to make a 'sand mould', filling liquid metal into the sand mould, and cooling to obtain the casting. The sand core of the water jacket of the automobile engine cylinder cover is the most complex and irregular sand core of the engine cylinder cover, is difficult in mold design and also difficult in sand core production, and has the lowest yield. As shown in fig. 2-3, the exhaust device of the casting mold for the water jacket sand core of the cylinder head comprises an upper fixing plate (1), an upper core box insert 1# (2), an upper core box insert 2# (3), an upper core box (4) and an embedded groove (5).

The upper core box (4) is fixedly arranged on the upper fixing plate (1) through screws; the upper core box insert 1# (2) and the upper core box insert 2# (3) are arranged in a prefabricated embedded groove (5) of the upper core box, and an exhaust hole is arranged in the embedded groove (5) and penetrates through the upper core box (4) and the upper fixing plate (1).

The shapes of the upper core box insert 1# (2) and the upper core box insert 2# (3) are only reserved with the thickness of 2-2.5 mm, and the rest parts are hollowed; the shape part is cut with an exhaust groove with the width of 0.2-0.25 mm.
