Technical Field

The present invention relates to an addition-curable silicone composition that can give (provide) a silicone rubber cured product having excellent flame retardancy and that has excellent storage stability.

Background

Silicone rubber has excellent properties such as heat resistance, weather resistance, and electrical properties, and is used in various fields. However, silicone rubber is flammable, having the following properties: when the flame is approached, the combustion will not be easily performed, but will be continued once the flame is ignited. Therefore, various developments have been attempted for improving the flame retardancy of silicone rubber.

For example, patent document 1 describes: by blending aluminum hydroxide powder and zinc carbonate powder into the addition reaction curable liquid silicone rubber composition, a silicone rubber molded article having excellent moldability and the like, and having excellent flame retardancy and electrical characteristics is provided. Patent document 2 describes: the silicone rubber composition containing carbon black and aluminum hydroxide as the flame retardancy-promoting material gives a silicone rubber having flame retardancy while being excellent in flowability, moldability and curability. However, when a basic inorganic filler such as aluminum hydroxide or zinc carbonate is added to a liquid silicone rubber composition, a dehydrogenation reaction occurs with time in a hydrosilyl group (hydrosil) contained in a crosslinking material, which causes a problem of thickening.

Patent document 3 describes the following method: in the liquid addition-curable silicone rubber composition, an organopolysiloxane resin, an inorganic filler such as silica, and an iron oxide fine powder are blended, and the heat loss of the organohydrogenpolysiloxane is controlled to improve flame retardancy. Patent document 4 describes an addition-curable silicone rubber composition which is blended with a triazole-based compound and an isocyanate-based compound, and which can give a silicone rubber cured product having high flame retardancy without impairing the physical properties of the base silicone rubber. However, these silicone rubber compositions still fail to achieve sufficient flame retardancy.

Disclosure of Invention

Problems to be solved by the invention

Therefore, development of a silicone composition which can provide silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy and is excellent in storage stability has been desired.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to: provided is an addition-curable silicone composition which can provide silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy, does not undergo thickening due to dehydrogenation reaction over time, and has excellent storage stability.

Means for solving the problems

The present inventors have conducted intensive studies in order to achieve the above object, and as a result, have found that: in addition-curable silicone rubber compositions containing an organopolysiloxane containing an alkenyl group bonded to a silicon atom, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and a hydrosilylation catalyst, a silicone rubber cured product having high flame retardancy can be provided by adding talc fine powder and 1,2, 3-benzotriazole or a derivative thereof in combination in a specific blending amount.

In particular, it has been found that: even if talc fine powder alone or 1,2, 3-benzotriazole or a derivative thereof is blended in an addition-curable silicone rubber composition, the flame retardancy-improving effect is insufficient (particularly, a silicone rubber having flame retardancy equivalent to V-0 in UL94 standard cannot be obtained), but by blending talc fine powder in combination with 1,2, 3-benzotriazole or a derivative thereof, a silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy (particularly, a silicone rubber having flame retardancy equivalent to V-0 in UL94 standard) can be provided, and the present invention has been completed.

Further found that: the silicone rubber composition has excellent storage stability.

That is, the present invention provides an addition-curable silicone composition containing the following components (a) to (E):

(A)1 organopolysiloxane that has 2 or more silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups in a molecule and that is liquid at 25 ℃: 100 parts by mass;

(B)1 organohydrogenpolysiloxane having 2 or more silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in a molecule: the number of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms contained in the component (B) is 1 to 10 per 1 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl group contained in the component (A);

(C) platinum group metal-based catalyst: the amount of catalyst;

(D) talc micro powder: 10-100 parts by mass; and

(E)1,2, 3-benzotriazole or a derivative thereof: the amount of the platinum group metal atom is 2 to 500 moles based on 1 mole of the component (C).

Effects of the invention

The silicone composition of the invention can give silicone rubber having flame retardancy equivalent to V-0 in the UL94 standard. In addition, the silicone composition hardly thickens with time and has high storage stability.

Detailed Description

The present invention will be described in more detail below.

[ (A) organopolysiloxane ]

(A) The component (A) is an organopolysiloxane which has 2 or more alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms in 1 molecule and is liquid at 25 ℃. Examples of the molecular structure of component (A) include linear, cyclic, branched and the like molecular structures, but a linear diorganopolysiloxane having a main chain composed of essentially diorganosiloxane repeating units and having both molecular chain terminals blocked with triorganosiloxy groups is preferred. It is preferable that the resin does not contain a three-dimensional network (resin-like) structure. In the case where the molecular structure of the organopolysiloxane is linear or branched, the silicon atom to which the alkenyl group is bonded in the molecule of the organopolysiloxane may be either a silicon atom located at the molecular chain terminal (i.e., triorganosiloxy (M unit)) or a silicon atom located midway in the molecular chain (i.e., a difunctional diorganosiloxane unit (D unit) or a trifunctional monoorganosilsesquioxane unit (T unit) located at the non-terminal end of the molecular chain). (A) As the component (C), known compounds can be used, but a linear diorganopolysiloxane having at least alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms at both ends of the molecular chain is particularly preferable.

Examples of the alkenyl group include alkenyl groups having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, preferably 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and include: vinyl, allyl, propenyl, butenyl, pentenyl, hexenyl, cyclohexenyl, heptenyl and the like, with vinyl being particularly preferred. (A) The amount of alkenyl groups contained in the component (a) is preferably 0.001 to 10%, particularly preferably about 0.01 to 5%, based on the whole (total number) of monovalent hydrocarbon groups bonded to silicon atoms.

Examples of the monovalent organic group other than the silicon atom-bonded alkenyl group of the organopolysiloxane include, independently of one another, monovalent hydrocarbon groups having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, preferably 1 to 10 carbon atoms. Examples thereof include: alkyl groups such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, pentyl, hexyl, cyclohexyl and heptyl; aryl groups such as phenyl, tolyl, xylyl, and naphthyl; aralkyl groups such as benzyl and phenethyl, and particularly preferably methyl.

(A) The viscosity of the component (A) is preferably in the range of 100 to 500,000 mPas, particularly preferably in the range of 1,000 to 200,000 mPas at 25 ℃. When the viscosity is within this range, the workability of handling the composition obtained is good, and the mechanical properties of the silicone rubber cured product obtained are good. The viscosity of the component (a) is determined by using JIS K7117-1: the value measured by a rotational viscometer described in 1999.

Examples of the organopolysiloxane include: dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane copolymers with trimethylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, methylvinylpolysiloxane with trimethylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane/methylphenylsiloxane copolymers with trimethylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, dimethylpolysiloxane with dimethylvinylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, methylvinylpolysiloxane with dimethylvinylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane copolymers with dimethylvinylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane/methylphenylsiloxane copolymers with trimethylsiloxy groups at both ends of the molecular chain, and mixtures thereof, Dimethylpolysiloxanes blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with divinylmethylsiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane copolymers blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with divinylmethylsiloxy groups, dimethylpolysiloxanes blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with trivinylsiloxy groups, and dimethylsiloxane/methylvinylsiloxane copolymers blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with trivinylsiloxy groups. Two or more of these organopolysiloxanes may be used in combination.

[ (B) Organohydrogenpolysiloxane ]

(B) The component (a) is an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least 2 silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms (SiH groups) in 1 molecule, and functions as a crosslinking agent (curing agent) by a hydrosilylation reaction with the alkenyl groups in the component (a). The organohydrogenpolysiloxane may be any known compound, and may be an organohydrogenpolysiloxane which does not substantially contain a hydroxyl group (i.e., a silanol group) bonded to a silicon atom in a molecule. The organohydrogenpolysiloxane may be used alone or in combination of two or more. In the present invention, the SiH group means a hydrosilyl group.

As the organohydrogenpolysiloxane, a material represented by the following average composition formula (1) can be used.

R1 aHbSiO(4-a-b)/2 (1)

In the above formula (1), R1Independently of each other, is an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group preferably having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, but does not have an aliphatic unsaturated bond such as an alkenyl group. Examples of the unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group include: alkyl groups such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, tert-butyl, pentyl, neopentyl, hexyl, cyclohexyl, octyl, nonyl and decyl; aryl groups such as phenyl, tolyl, xylyl, and naphthyl; aralkyl groups such as benzyl, phenylethyl and phenylpropyl. Among them, an alkyl group or an aryl group is preferable, and a methyl group is more preferable. Further, a is a positive number of 0.7 to 2.1, b is a positive number of 0.001 to 1.0, and a + b is a number satisfying a range of 0.8 to 3.0. Preferably, a is a positive number of 1.0 to 2.0, b is a positive number of 0.01 to 1.0, and a + b is a number satisfying a range of 1.5 to 2.5.

The organohydrogenpolysiloxane has at least 2 (usually 2 to 200), preferably 3 or more (for example, 3 to 100), and more preferably 4 to 50 SiH groups in 1 molecule. The SiH group may be located at either of the molecular chain terminal or the molecular chain midway, or may be located at both positions. The molecular structure of the organohydrogenpolysiloxane may be any of linear, cyclic, branched and three-dimensional network structures. The number of silicon atoms (or polymerization degree) in 1 molecule is usually 2 to 300, preferably 3 to 150, and more preferably 4 to 100. The polymerization degree can be calculated as a number average polymerization degree (number average molecular weight) in terms of polystyrene in GPC (gel permeation chromatography) analysis using, for example, toluene as a developing solvent.

(B) The viscosity of the component (A) is usually 0.1 to 1,000 mPas at 25 ℃, preferably 0.5 to 500 mPas, and preferably liquid at 25 ℃. The viscosity is measured according to JIS K7117-1: the value measured by a rotational viscometer described in 1999.

Examples of the organohydrogenpolysiloxane include: 1,1,3, 3-tetramethyldisiloxane, 1,3,5, 7-tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane, tris (hydrogendimethylsiloxy) methylsilane, tris (hydrogendimethylsiloxy) phenylsilane, methylhydrocyclopolysiloxane, methylhydrogensiloxane/dimethylsiloxane cyclic copolymer, methylhydrogensiloxane capped at both molecular chain terminals with trimethylsiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylhydrogensiloxane copolymer capped at both molecular chain terminals with trimethylsiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylhydrogensiloxane/methylphenylsiloxane copolymer capped at both molecular chain terminals with trimethylsiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylhydrogensiloxane/diphenylsiloxane copolymer capped at both molecular chain terminals with trimethylsiloxy groups, poly (methyl hydrogen siloxane/diphenylsiloxane) copolymer, poly (methyl hydrogen siloxane), Methylhydrogenpolysiloxane blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, dimethylpolysiloxane blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylhydrogensiloxane copolymer blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/methylphenylsiloxane copolymer blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, dimethylsiloxane/diphenylsiloxane copolymer blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, methylphenylpolysiloxane blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, diphenylpolysiloxane blocked at both ends of the molecular chain with dimethylhydrogensiloxy groups, compounds obtained by substituting a part or all of the methyl groups in the above-mentioned compounds with other alkyl groups such as ethyl groups and propyl groups, and the like, From the formula R2 3SiO1/2(R in the formula2A monovalent hydrocarbon group other than alkenyl, with the above-mentioned R1The same groups. ) Siloxane units represented by the formula and2 2HSiO1/2siloxane units and the formula SiO4/2An organosiloxane copolymer of the formula R2 2HSiO1/2Siloxane units and the formula SiO4/2An organosiloxane copolymer of the formula R2HSiO2/2Siloxane units represented by the formula and2SiO3/2siloxane units of the formula or3/2An organosiloxane copolymer of the siloxane units shown. Two or more of these organohydrogenpolysiloxanes may be used in combination.

(B) The blending amount of the components is as follows: the amount ratio of the number of silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in the component (B) to 1 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl group in the component (A) is in the range of 1 to 10, preferably 1.5 to 5. If the amount of the component (B) is less than the above lower limit, the composition may not be sufficiently cured. If the amount exceeds the above upper limit, the heat resistance of the resulting silicone rubber cured product may be extremely deteriorated.

[ (C) platinum group Metal-based catalyst ]

The platinum group metal-based catalyst may be any catalyst known as an addition reaction catalyst. Examples thereof include: platinum-based catalysts, palladium-based catalysts, ruthenium-based catalysts, and the like. Among them, platinum group catalysts are preferable, and for example, there can be mentioned: platinum black, platinum chloride, chloroplatinic acid, a reactant of chloroplatinic acid and a monohydric alcohol, a complex of chloroplatinic acid and olefins, platinum bisacetoacetate (platinum bisacetoacetate), and the like. The amount of the platinum group metal-based catalyst to be added may be any amount that promotes the addition reaction between the component (a) and the component (B). Usually, the amount of the platinum group metal is about 1 to 1,000ppm, particularly about 1 to 500ppm, based on the total mass of the components (A) and (B). If the amount is too small, curability is reduced, and if it is too large, it is economically disadvantageous.

[ (D) Talc micropowder ]

The fine talc powder is an inorganic powder (non-reinforcing filler) known as a heat resistance improver and the like. Even when talc fine powder is merely blended in the addition reaction curable silicone composition, the flame retardancy-improving effect is insufficient, and a silicone rubber having flame retardancy equivalent to V-0 in UL94 standard cannot be provided, but the addition reaction curable silicone composition is blended with (E) described laterBenzotriazole or a benzotriazole derivative is blended in combination to give a silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy (e.g., flame retardancy equivalent to V-0 in UL94 standard). Further, the composition is free from thickening due to dehydrogenation reaction over time, and excellent in storage stability can be provided. The preferable median diameter of the talc fine powder measured by a laser diffraction method is 0.1-50μm, more preferably 5 to 40μAnd m is selected. If the median diameter is greater than the above upper limit, the mechanical properties of the silicone composition may be degraded, and if it is less than the above lower limit, the viscosity of the silicone composition may be increased, and the workability may be deteriorated. One kind of fine talc powder having the above-mentioned median diameter may be used alone, or two or more kinds may be used in combination.

The fine talc powder may be one which has not been subjected to surface treatment, but is preferably one which has been subjected to surface treatment with an organosilicon compound, as described later. Since the affinity between the talc fine powder surface-treated with the silicone compound and the silicone resin is improved, the viscosity of the composition is reduced and the handling property is improved.

The method for surface treatment of the fine talc powder is not particularly limited, and for example, the above-mentioned untreated fine talc powder and the organic silicon compound may be charged into a closed mechanical kneading apparatus or a fluidized bed under normal pressure, and mixed at room temperature (25 ℃) or under heat treatment (under heating) in the presence of an inert gas as required. In some cases, water or a catalyst (hydrolysis accelerator or the like) may be used to accelerate the surface treatment. After kneading, the surface-treated talc fine powder can be produced by drying. The amount of the organosilicon compound to be blended is not less than the amount calculated from the coating area of the surface-treating agent, and may be usually 0.1 to 20 parts by mass, preferably 0.1 to 15 parts by mass, and more preferably 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the untreated fine talc powder.

Examples of the organosilicon compound include: silazanes such as hexamethyldisilazane and 1,1,3,3,5, 5-hexamethylcyclotrisilazane; alkoxysilanes such as methyltrimethoxysilane, ethyltrimethoxysilane, propyltrimethoxysilane, butyltrimethoxysilane, dimethyldimethoxysilane, diethyldimethoxysilane, vinyltriethoxysilane, vinyltrimethoxysilane, trimethylmethoxysilane, triethylmethoxysilane, vinyltris (methoxyethoxy) silane and chloropropyltrimethoxysilane; chlorosilanes such as trimethylchlorosilane and dimethyldichlorosilane; silane coupling agents such as trimethylsilanol and hydroxypentamethyldisiloxane; or polymethylsiloxanes, organohydrogenpolysiloxanes, and the like. However, it may be an organosilicon compound different from the above-mentioned (A) component and (B) component.

The amount of the component (D) is 10 to 100 parts by mass, preferably 20 to 90 parts by mass, and more preferably 30 to 80 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of the component (A). If the amount of component (D) is less than the lower limit, a sufficient flame retardancy-improving effect cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds the upper limit, the viscosity of the silicone composition increases, and the workability deteriorates.

[ (E)1,2, 3-benzotriazole or derivatives thereof ]

(E) The component is 1,2, 3-benzotriazole or derivatives thereof, and plays a role of improving the flame retardance. Even if 1,2, 3-benzotriazole or a derivative thereof is blended in the addition-curable silicone composition alone, sufficient flame retardancy cannot be imparted, but by blending in combination with the above-mentioned (D) talc fine powder, a silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy (i.e., flame retardancy of V-0 in UL94 standard) can be provided. In the present invention, the benzotriazole derivative refers to a compound in which a hydrogen atom bonded to a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom in benzotriazole is substituted with a monovalent organic group. Examples thereof include: a compound in which a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group is bonded to at least one carbon atom of benzotriazole, or a compound in which a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, alkoxysilylalkyl group, or organosiloxysilylalkyl group is bonded to a nitrogen atom of benzotriazole via a carbonyl group, amide bond, ester bond, or the like.

As the monovalent hydrocarbon group, there may be mentioned: alkyl groups such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, tert-butyl, pentyl, neopentyl, hexyl and cyclohexyl; or a group obtained by substituting a part or all of hydrogen atoms of these groups with a halogen atom such as fluorine, bromine or chlorine, a cyano group or the like, for example, chloromethyl group, chloropropyl group, bromoethyl group, trifluoropropyl group, cyanoethyl group or the like. Examples of the group having a hetero atom include groups having an ether bond or a carbonyl group, and examples thereof include monovalent hydrocarbon groups having a ketone group, an amide group, a carboxyl group, and the like. If the amount of the component (E) is less than the lower limit, a sufficient flame retardancy-improving effect cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds the upper limit, the silicone rubber may not be cured.

[ (F) reinforcing Filler ]

The silicone composition of the present invention preferably further contains (F) a reinforcing filler. As the reinforcing filler, fine reinforcing silica powder is preferable. The reinforcing fine silica powder is not particularly limited in kind of silica, and may be any silica conventionally used as a rubber reinforcing agent in a composition for imparting silicone rubber. The fine reinforcing silica powder preferably has a specific surface area of 50m by the BET method2More than g. In particular, a BET method is suitably used, and the specific surface area is 50 to 400m2A/g, especially 100 to 350m2Precipitated silica (wet silica), fumed silica (dry silica), fumed silica, etc./g. Fumed silica is particularly suitable from the viewpoint of improving the rubber strength. The fine reinforcing silica powder may be subjected to a hydrophobic treatment with a surface treatment agent such as an organosilicon compound. Examples of the organosilicon compound include: chlorosilanes, alkoxysilanes, organosilazanes, and the like (typically hydrolyzable). In the case of surface treatment, the fine silica powder may be subjected to hydrophobization treatment with a surface treatment agent in a powder state before mixing with the resin, or the surface treatment agent may be added to perform surface hydrophobization treatment at the time of kneading the alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane of the component (a) and the fine silica powder.

The surface treatment method may be performed according to known techniques. For example, the untreated fine silica powder and the treating agent are charged into a closed mechanical kneading apparatus or a fluidized bed under normal pressure, and mixed at room temperature or under heat treatment (under heating) in the presence of an inert gas as required. In some cases, a catalyst (hydrolysis accelerator or the like) may be used to accelerate the treatment. After kneading, the treated fine silica powder can be produced by drying. The amount of the treating agent to be blended may be equal to or more than the amount calculated from the coating area of the treating agent.

As the surface treatment agent, there may be mentioned: the above-mentioned (D) talc fine powder surface treatment agent. As the surface treatment agent, silazanes are particularly preferable.

The amount of component (F) to be blended is 1 to 100 parts by mass, preferably 5 to 60 parts by mass, and more preferably 10 to 60 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of component (A). If the viscosity is less than the lower limit, a sufficient reinforcing effect cannot be obtained, and if the viscosity is more than the upper limit, the viscosity of the silicone composition becomes too high, and the workability and processability deteriorate.

The silicone composition of the present invention may contain other optional components in addition to the components (a) to (F) described above within a range not impairing the object of the present invention. One of the other components may be used alone, or two or more of them may be used in combination. Examples thereof include: a flame retardancy-improving material other than the component (D) and the component (E), such as carbon black, titanium dioxide, or iron oxide. The amount of the flame retardancy-enhancing material other than the components (D) and (E) is preferably 0 to 10 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 0.1 to 5 parts by mass, based on 100 parts by mass of the component (A).

In addition to the above, for example, it is also possible to blend: 1 organopolysiloxane containing 1 hydrogen atom bonded to a silicon atom in a molecule and no other functional group; 1 organopolysiloxane containing 1 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl group in a molecule and no other functional group; a nonfunctional organopolysiloxane that does not contain silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms, silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups, and other functional groups (so-called dimethylsilicone oil); an organic solvent, a creep preventing curing agent (クリープハードニング preventive), a plasticizer, a thixotropy imparting agent, a pigment, a dye, a mildewproofing agent, and the like. The blending amount of these additives may be appropriately adjusted without impairing the effects of the present invention.

The method for preparing the addition reaction type silicone composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and it is preferable that the composition is stored in two components (2 liquid) so as not to be cured, and the two components are mixed at the time of use (immediately before curing) to be cured. In this case, when the component (a), the component (B), and the component (C) are blended together, crosslinking proceeds even at room temperature, and the composition may be thickened or gelled, and therefore, it is preferable to separate the component (B) and the component (C). For example, a mixture obtained by mixing a part of component (a), a part of component (D), component (C) and optionally component (F) (hereinafter referred to as "material a"), the balance of component (a), "component (B)," component (D), "component (E) and optionally component (F) (hereinafter referred to as" material B ") are prepared separately, and the material a and the material B are mixed immediately before curing. In addition, it is preferable to blend a reaction control agent such as acetylene alcohol in the material B. Thus, by delaying the curing, the mixing time of the material a and the material B and the time for performing the processing molding can be secured. The silicone composition of the present invention is liquid at 25 ℃. Preferably has a viscosity of 1,000 mPas to 5,000,000 mPas at 25 ℃. When the component (F) is contained, the viscosity at 25 ℃ is 10,000 to 10,000,000 mPas. The viscosity can be measured, for example, using a viscosity/viscoelasticity measuring apparatus (HAKKEMARS40, manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific).

The method for molding and curing the addition-curable silicone composition is not particularly limited, and any conventionally known method may be used. The molding method may be selected from, for example, injection molding, transfer molding, cast molding, compression molding, and the like, which is an optimum method for the purpose. The composition can be cured by heating at 80 to 230 ℃, preferably 100 to 180 ℃ as the curing conditions. The heating time is preferably about 30 seconds to 3 hours, and particularly preferably about 1 minute to 1 hour. Further, if necessary, secondary vulcanization (post-curing) may be optionally carried out at 40 to 230 ℃ for about 10 minutes to 24 hours. The thickness of the silicone rubber cured product is not particularly limited, and may be 0.5 to 10mm, particularly 1 to 6 mm.

The silicone rubber cured product obtained by curing the silicone composition of the present invention has particularly excellent flame retardancy at the above thickness. In particular, a cured silicone rubber having a thickness of 0.5mm or more, preferably 1mm or more, has a flame retardancy of V-0 in a flame retardancy test based on UL94 standard. The flame retardancy test according to the UL94 standard is a test piece made of a short silicone rubber strip having a thickness of 1mm, for example, and the flame retardancy of the test piece is evaluated at a speed at which the burning is progressed by burning the test piece with a Burner flame (vertical burning test). V-0 means that the flame contact time was 2 times, the flamed combustion duration after the flame contact was completed was within 10 seconds for both the 1 st time and the 2 nd time, the total of the flamed combustion duration and flameless combustion duration after the flame contact was completed for the 2 nd time was within 30 seconds, and the total of the flamed combustion durations for 5 test pieces was within 50 seconds.

The silicone composition of the present invention can provide a silicone rubber having excellent flame retardancy and excellent storage stability, and is therefore useful for electric appliances, cable end parts, automobile materials, and the like, which require flame retardancy.
