Technical Field

The invention relates to a sorter/pre-selector (Weiche) of the tablet discharge of tablet presses, wherein a drive is provided for positioning the sorter between a position, in which position tablets are supplied to the outlet channel of the sorter, and a second position, in which tablets are supplied to the second outlet channel of the sorter.

Background

The rotary tablet press has a plurality of upper and lower punches, which are assigned in pairs to the chambers of the die plate of the rotary part of the rotary tablet press, respectively, during rotation of the rotary part, the chambers are filled with filling material to be pressed, in at least pressing devices, the upper and lower punches are pressed towards one another in the chambers to press the filling material into tablets, after pressing, the tablets are usually ejected from the chambers by the lower punches and are supplied, for example, by scrapers to a tablet discharge.

In practice, when the sorter switches, this may lead to tablets being clamped between the free end of the sorter, e.g. the sorter gate, and the opposite wall of the tablet discharge.

In addition to tablet jamming and the resulting damage or tablet jamming, the known sorting machines are generally not suitable for so-called miniature tablets having a diameter of less than 2mm, since the movable sorting gate forms a gap with adjacent parts due to tolerances, in which small tablets may undesirably jam.

Disclosure of Invention

Proceeding from the prior art described above, the object of the present invention is to provide classifiers and methods of the type described above by means of which the usability of a rotary tablet press can be maximized even at high throughput and the workload and health hazards for the operating personnel are minimized and which can also be used in particular for so-called microtablets.

The invention achieves said object by the subject matter of independent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are given in the dependent claims, the description and the drawings.

For a classifier of the type mentioned above, this object is achieved according to the invention in that the classifier comprises a trough-like or tubular tablet channel which can be adjusted by means of a drive between a th position and a second position, the tablet channel having an inlet and an outlet, wherein in the st position of the trough-like or tubular tablet channel the tablets guided through the trough-like or tubular tablet channel are supplied to the th outlet channel and in the second position of the trough-like or tubular tablet channel the tablets guided through the trough-like or tubular tablet channel are supplied to the second outlet channel, and between the outlet of the trough-like or tubular tablet channel and the and second outlet channels a classifying chamber is provided, which forms a gap (free space) between the outlet and the th and second outlet channels, through which classifying chamber the tablets coming from the outlet are supplied to the th or second outlet channel.

The inlet of the groove-or tube-shaped tablet channel is in both positions connected to the ejection device of the tablet press, so that the tablets produced in the tablet press enter in both positions, the outlet is connected to the outlet channel of the groove-or tube-shaped tablet channel, the tablet channel is in the form of a circular or tube-shaped channel, and the tablet channel can be in the form of a circular or tube-shaped channel, or can be in the form of a circular channel, or can be in the form of a channel with a cross section that is open at the outlet side.

As a result of the use according to the invention of an adjustable groove-like or tubular tablet channel with a concave working surface for the tablets, jamming of the tablets and thus pushing them back against the tablet flow and jamming of the tablets against the side walls of the classifier are reliably avoided. Furthermore, due to gravity, the tablets conveyed always tend to be at the lowest point in the trough-or tubular run channel, so that the tablets interfere with one another in a very small sequential progression.

According to the invention, a separation chamber, which forms the intermediate space between the outlet and the -th and second outlet channels, is also provided between the outlet of the channel-like or tubular tablet channel and the -th and second outlet channels, and through said separation chamber tablets from the outlet are fed to the -th or second outlet channel, the separation chamber forming the intermediate space between the tube outlet and the outlet channels in the flow direction of the tablets, that is to say the tube outlet and the outlet channels are spaced apart from one another in the flow direction of the tablets by a spacing which is ensured by said separation chamber, during a changeover of the classifier, the tablets are introduced into outlet channels or into the other outlet channels, and, due to the intermediate space formed by the separation chamber, the tablets are not pushed back or clamped back during the changeover of the classifier, the risk of stacking or clamping or damage of the tablets is minimized by the approach of the separation chamber according to the invention.

The separator according to the invention is suitable both for large tablets and for so-called mini-tablets with a diameter of less than 2mm, due to its design. Tablets of shapes having problems in other sorters, e.g. having low bar height

The tablets of (a) can also be delivered without problems and reliably. This is also achieved in that the working surfaces of the individual components of the separator according to the invention each have an overlap with one another.

Of course, the classifier according to the invention can also comprise more than two outlet channels, for example three outlet channels, with which the groove-like or tube-like tablet channels can optionally be brought into communication by adjustment, for example by rotation, so that of them are always supplied with tablets.

All components of the classifier according to the invention can be made of metal, in particular stainless steel, plastic or ceramic.

According to the embodiments, it can be provided that the groove-like or tubular tablet channel is rotatable about an axis of rotation, and that the inlet of the groove-like or tubular tablet channel is arranged coaxially with respect to the axis of rotation, and the outlet is arranged non-coaxially with respect to the axis of rotation, i.e. the inlet does not change its position during rotation.

Alternatively, it is also conceivable that the groove-like or tubular tablet passage is not rotated but is moved in another way, for example, by a wobble movement, for the purpose of adjustment.

According to a further designs, a guide can be provided in the sorting chamber, which guide feeds tablets from the tube outlet to either the outlet channel or the second outlet channel, depending on the position of the tubular tablet channel, this guide further improves tablet guidance.

The guide means may comprise at least guide elements fixedly arranged in the sorting chamber, the guide elements may for example be guide plates, the guide elements may for example have an inverted V-shaped cross section, i.e. the tip of the V points upwards, in this way the tablets are guided by the sides of the V-shape of the guide elements to the th side of the sorting chamber or to the second side of the sorting chamber, each side of the sorting chamber leads to outlet channels.

According to another design it can be provided that the guide means comprise at least guide bodies which can be adjusted between an active position and a passive position in the sorting chamber, in which case guide body drive means are provided which adjust the guide bodies to the passive position during the movement of the slot-like or tubular tablet channel between the positions and second.

According to another embodiments, and/or the second outlet channel can be trough-shaped or tubular, which further improves the smooth removal of the tablets while minimizing the risk of damage, jamming, etc.

According to particularly practical embodiments, the groove-like or tubular tablet channel can be formed by a bent tube, which can be bent twice, for example, so that the tube section forming the inlet is offset, preferably parallel, with respect to the second tube section forming the outlet.

According to a further embodiments, the outlet can be formed in a rotary disk which is driven in rotation by a drive device, wherein the rotary disk has, for example, circular openings which form the outlet of the trough-like or tubular tablet channel, wherein the circular openings are arranged eccentrically, in particular outside the axis of rotation of the rotary disk, a drive shaft which is rotated by the drive device can be arranged on the rotary disk, for example, in a body connection with the rotary disk .

According to another designs, the rotating disk can close the sorting chamber on the side , which prevents the tablets from flowing out to undesired areas.

According to another particularly practical embodiments, the drive means may comprise an electric motor.

The sorter may also include a housing. The housing may, for example, be at least partially transparent so that the tablet discharge can be visually inspected by the sorter. As material for the at least partially transparent housing, transparent plastic, for example plexiglass, can be used.

The invention also relates to a sorter system comprising a plurality of sorters according to the invention arranged in rows, where the outlet channels of the th sorter in the direction of flow of the tablets can lead to the inlet of the trough-like or tubular tablet channel of the second sorter in the direction of flow of the tablets, where another outlet channels of the th sorter in the direction of flow of the tablets can lead to a reject channel, for example, for reject tablets, the th and second outlet channels of the second sorter in the direction of flow of the tablets can, for example, form a good channel for good tablets and a sample channel for measuring devices for sampling, so that, for example, a total of three outlet channels, for good tablets, for reject tablets, for sampling can be operated.

The invention also relates to rotary tablet press comprising a rotary part which can be rotated by means of a rotary drive, the rotary part having an upper punch guide for an upper punch of the rotary tablet press, a lower punch guide for a lower punch of the rotary tablet press and a die plate arranged between the punch guides, the punches interacting with cavities of the die plate, the rotary tablet press further comprising filling means by which filling material to be compressed is filled into the cavities of the die plate, the rotary tablet press further comprising at least upper pressure means and at least lower pressure means which, in operation, cooperate with the upper punch and the lower punch for compressing the filling material into tablets in the cavities of the die plate, and furthermore comprising ejection means in which the tablets produced in the cavities are ejected and a tablet ejection to which the ejected tablets are fed, wherein at least classifiers according to the invention are arranged in the tablet ejection.

Detailed Description

Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout the drawings unless otherwise specified.

The rotary tablet press shown in fig. 1 comprises a rotary part driven in rotation by a rotary drive, not shown, which rotary part has a die plate 10, which die plate 10 has a plurality of chambers 12, which chambers 12 can be formed, for example, by the holes of the die 10, furthermore the rotary part comprises a plurality of upper punches 14 and lower punches 16, which rotate synchronously with the die plate 10. here, chambers 12 are assigned pairs of upper punches 14 and lower punches 16. during rotation of the rotary part, the axial movement of the upper punches 14 and lower punches 16 is controlled by upper control curve elements 18 and lower control curve elements 20. the rotary tablet press also comprises a filling device 22 with a filling chamber 24. furthermore, the filling device 22 also comprises a funnel-shaped filling material reservoir 26, which is connected to the filling chamber 24 by means of a feed section 28. in this way, in the present example, powdered filling material enters the filling chamber 24 under the influence of gravity from the filling material reservoir 26 through the feed section 28 and in turn, through a filling opening provided on the underside of the filling chamber 24, under the influence of gravity into the chambers 12 of the die plate 10.

Furthermore, the rotary tablet press comprises a pressurizing means 30. The pressing device 30 comprises a pre-pressing device with an upper pre-press roll 32 and a lower pre-press roll 34 and a main pressing device with an upper main press roll 36 and a lower main press roll 38. Furthermore, the rotary tablet press also comprises an ejection device 40, which in the present example has a scraper 42, which feeds the tablets 74 produced in the rotary tablet press to a tablet discharge 46.

A control for the operation of the rotary press is shown at 48. The control device 48 is connected via lines not shown in detail primarily to the rotary drive of the rotary part.

According to an th embodiment, a sorter 50 shown in fig. 2 to 4 can be provided in the tablet discharge 46 of the rotary tablet press shown in fig. 1. the sorter 50 comprises a tablet channel 52, which in the example shown is tubular, which in the example shown has a circular cross section and an extended course which is bent twice, as can be seen in particular in fig. 4. the end of the tubular tablet channel 52 forms the inlet 54, in the present case the tube inlet 54, the second end of the tubular tablet channel 52 forms the outlet 56, in the present case the tube outlet 56. the inlet 54 and the outlet 56 correspond to the cross section of the tubular tablet channel 52 which is also circular.

As can be seen from fig. 3, the outlet 56 is formed on a rotary disk 58, which is also circular, on which a drive shaft 60 is arranged at the center of the rotary disk 58, the free end of which, visible in fig. 3, is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the output shaft of an electric motor 62 of the drive of the classifier 50, in this way the rotary disk 58 and, together with the rotary disk , also the tubular tablet channel 52 can be rotated about the axis of rotation 64 shown in fig. 4 in order to adjust the classifier 50, it can be seen here that the tube section forming the inlet 54 and thus also the inlet itself are coaxial with the axis of rotation 64, while the tube section forming the outlet 56 and thus also the outlet 56 are eccentric to the axis of rotation 64, in particular lie completely outside the axis of rotation 64, whereby the inlet 54 does not change its position during the rotation of the tubular tablet channel 52, while the outlet 56 swivels about the axis of rotation 64, as will be explained in more detail below.

Furthermore, the sorter according to the invention comprises an th outlet channel 66, which in the shown example is also tubular with a circular cross-section, and a second outlet channel 68, which in the shown example is also tubular with a circular cross-section, the th outlet channel 66 may for example lead to a good channel for good tablets, the second outlet channel 68 may for example lead to a bad channel for bad tablets.

The outlet 56 of the tubular tablet channel 52 forms a sorting chamber 70 between the outlet 56 and the first and second outlet channels 66, 68, in the example shown, a stationary guide element 72, in the example shown a guide plate 72, is provided in the sorting chamber 70, the guide element 72 having a substantially V-shaped cross section, the tip of the V pointing upwards in fig. 2. the tablets 75 conveyed through the tubular tablet channel 52 pass through the outlet 56 into the sorting chamber 70 and from there, depending on the rotational position of the tubular tablet channel 52, reach the two outlet channels 66, 68 . in the position of the sorter shown in fig. 2, the tablets 75 enter the outlet channel 66 from the outlet 56. the guide element 72 prevents the tablets 75 from unintentionally entering the second outlet channel 68. conversely, if the tubular tablet channel 52 is rotated by means of the motor 62 in the clockwise direction in fig. 2 into its second position, the outlet 56 is situated in a mirrored fashion on the other side of the guide element 72. the side of the tablets 75 conveyed through the tubular tablet channel 52 and the outlet 56 into the sorting chamber 70, the side wall 70 is now also visible as being closed in the front wall 76 of the sorting chamber 70, and the front wall 76 of the sorting chamber 70, which is also visible in the front wall 76 of the sorting chamber 70.

With reference to fig. 5 and 6, a sorter system according to the invention is described, which can be arranged in the tablet discharge 46 of the rotary tablet press shown in fig. 1, comprising two sorters 50 arranged in a row, such as the one shown schematically in fig. 2 to 4, the two sorters 50 being arranged in a common housing 78, the housing 78 having a mounting section 80 by means of which it can be mounted, for example, on a tablet press housing of the rotary tablet press shown in fig. 1, furthermore, in the example shown, the housing 78 has a housing cover 82 which is transparent, for example made of plexiglass, the and the second outlet channels 66, 68 of the second sorter in the flow direction of the tablets 75 lead out of the housing 78 through two openings of the housing 78, furthermore, the housing 78 also has a lead-out channel 84 for leading out the tablets supplied to the outlet channel 66 of the sorter 50 which is the flow direction of the tablets 75, which lead-out channel 84 can be used, for example, as a reject channel for rejects.

As can be seen in particular in fig. 6, the second outlet channel 68 of the -th classifier 50 in the flow direction of the tablets 75 leads to the inlet 54 of the second classifier 50 in the flow direction of the tablets 75, that is to say, depending on the switching position of the -th classifier 50 in the flow direction of the tablets 75, the tablets are supplied via the outlet 66 to the discharge channel 84 or to the inlet 54 of the second classifier 50 in the flow direction of the tablets 75, then, depending on the switching position of the second classifier in the flow direction of the tablets 75, the tablets 75 supplied to the second classifier are supplied to the outlet channel 66 or to the second outlet channel 68 of the classifier 50, these outlet channels 66, 68 can then lead, for example, to a good channel for good tablets or to a sampling channel for random extraction of the tablets 75, this classifier system can also be operated by the control device 48.
