Technical Field

The present invention relates to a lid having an upper face and a bottom face for sealing an accommodating opening of a mixing container of a food processor. Furthermore, it relates to a mixing container of a food processor with such a top cover, and also to a food processor with a mixing container and a top cover. Finally, another aspect of the invention is directed to an accessory to be placed within a top cover opening of a blending container of a food processor.

Background

Kitchen appliances for the automatic preparation of food have also been known in the field of household consumer products for a long time and are in the state of the art. Such food preparation machines have a machine housing in which a drive motor for driving a stirring and cutting system, in the following simply referred to as stirring system, into rotation is arranged and in which a holder for a stirring container to be placed there is provided. The mixing container which is just placed into the fixing seat is also a component of the food processor, and can be detachably arranged in the fixing seat. In this food processor, a transmission shaft is guided by the fixed seat, and an adjustment system arranged inside the housing container is connected to the transmission shaft for the conduction of the rotary drive system. Furthermore, the food processor has a heating device for heating the food product to be prepared which is located in the mixing container. Finally, a cover is provided, with which the mixing container is sealed on the top when the cooking appliance is in operation. Such a food processor is known and described, for example, in DE 4414821 a 1.

With such a food processor, it is now possible to carry out pre-programmed processing or preparation steps for the food, wherein in particular the number of revolutions and/or the direction of movement of the stirring system is predetermined to be changeable, the temperature of the food being maintained by operating the heating device operating with the corresponding heating power.

During operation, the cover placed on the mixing container serves, on the one hand, to prevent the food being processed in the mixing container from escaping into the environment surrounding the food processor, and, on the other hand, constitutes a protection against accidental intervention into the mixing container, which can lead to serious injuries, on the one hand, due to the scalding food and, on the other hand, due to the rotating operating mixing system, which in particular can have sharp blade portions.

In the case of a top cover placed onto the mixing container, it is difficult, if not impossible, for the operator to inspect the contents of the mixing container. For this reason, the interior of the container is often too dark, which is particularly the case for food processors, in order to cover the stirring container, a lid made of an opaque and often also dark material, for example such a plastic material, is often used. However, the use of a transparent cover does not bring any significant advantage here either, since the food to be prepared often splashes and adheres to the underside of the cover during operation of the food processor, so that it is then not possible to ensure that the interior of the mixing container is visible.

Users of such food processors still want to have the possibility to see inside the blender container of the food processor, even while the food processor is operating. On the one hand, they want to be able to visually monitor the status of the food prepared in the mixing container. On the other hand, it is often also necessary to add further seasonings to the mixing container of the food processor during the running process, usually through an opening, often centrally arranged, provided in the lid. Even during or especially after the process of adding other ingredients, users of the food processor often want to control the contents of the container by inspection.

In order to solve this problem, a solution has been proposed for equipping the mixing container of such a food processor with internal lighting. Thus, DE 102017118947 a1 describes a mixing container in which a light source is arranged in the handle, which light source is supplied with energy from the machine housing via contacts arranged on the bottom side of the mixing container, the light energy output of which is guided further via light conductors via the handle elements up to an output window arranged on the upper edge of the mixing container, through which output window the light guided by the light conductors is guided into the interior of the mixing container.

Although the solution proposed in DE 102017118947 a1 provides a possibility for the internal illumination of the mixing container present there, namely: even if the inside of the mixing container can be seen by an observer, for example through an opening in the center of the container lid or through a window arranged there, while the food processor is in operation, the proposed construction is complicated and ultimately costly, with respect to the inherent contacts on the machine housing, with a light source arranged in the handle of the mixing container, with separate electrical lines, and with a light conductor also arranged in the handle. In this way, the stirring vessel of the kitchen appliance is equipped with internal lighting, which is correspondingly costly and also leads to a higher cost for producing the corresponding stirring vessel. It is also not feasible to add such a lighting function to existing food processors, especially because separate contacts for guiding the supply power for the light source are also provided on the machine housing.

Disclosure of Invention

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a simpler and still effective possibility to enable illumination of the interior of a mixing container with the top cover placed onto the mixing container. The lighting function to be provided according to the invention is also preferably designed to be easily retrofitted to existing food processors.

This object is achieved according to the invention firstly by a top cover having the features of claim 1, having an upper side and a bottom side and for sealing a receiving opening of a mixing container of a food processor. Advantageous developments of such a cover are specified in the dependent claims 2 to 11. The invention then specifies, by another aspect, a mixing container for a food processor with an upper filling opening, which mixing container has a top cover according to the invention. A kitchen appliance with such a mixing container is also part of the invention. Finally, another aspect of the invention is also a fitment to be placed in a top lid opening of a blending container of a food processor having the features of claim 14. Advantageous developments of such a fitting are specified in the dependent claims 15 to 24.

Thus, according to a first aspect, by the present invention, a top cover for sealing a receiving opening of a mixing container of a food processor is first specified. This top cover has an upper face and a bottom face. If the lid seals the receiving opening of the mixing container of the food processor, the bottom face generally faces away from the interior of the mixing container, and the upper face of the lid correspondingly faces outwardly. The top cover is provided with an opening which is opened transversely to a sealing cover plane of the top cover which is propped against the containing opening of the stirring container in the embedded state. This opening may be arranged, for example and in particular, in the center of the top cover. But it may also be located off center. In the covers of known food processors, such openings are often found in order to seal the mixing container of the machine, in particular also for inserting further ingredients into the mixing container during the course of operation of the food processor. A fitting, which seals the opening, is inserted into the opening of the lid according to the invention. Wherein a first connecting structure is provided in the region of the opening and the fitting has a second connecting structure. The first and second connecting structures form a detachable connection between the fitment and the lid so that the fitment is fixed thereto when it is fixedly seated on the lid, but is accordingly detachable from the lid and the opening, in particular in order to free the opening, for example for adding further seasonings to the mixing container. The fitting additionally has a circumferential side wall, which projects above the top cover with the side wall. Furthermore, the fitting has a cover surface which closes the side wall from the front. The side wall of the fitting is transparent at least in one region, and in particular can be designed to be transparent in its entirety. It may for example consist of a transparent plastic.

The accessory, and thus the lid of the mixing container for a food processor, is characterized in that it has a light source which is arranged to radiate light in the direction of the lid opening and towards the lid bottom surface.

With this solution according to the invention, the fitting therefore seals the opening in the top cover of the food processor, which seals the mixing container from above, during operation, and at the same time serves as a light source, by means of which the interior of the mixing container can be illuminated in order to illuminate the contents of the mixing container to the observer and thus make them visible, in particular also during the processing process of the food processor. An observer can see through the transparent side wall of the fitment the interior of the mixing container and observe what is happening there, the contents, and also the process of processing.

Since the fitting, which is inserted into the cover opening in the design according to the invention, forms or contains the light source, this light source can be realized very simply and cost-effectively. For this purpose, a separately designed mixing container is not required, and the machine housing, in particular the holder for the mixing container, which is arranged therein, is not required to be provided in such a way that an electrical energy supply for operating the light source is provided there. Furthermore, it is easy to provide an accessory as described above, which is provided with a light source, wherein the light source can be operated in or on the accessory, in particular, for example, by means of a battery. Furthermore, the design according to the invention allows the addition of an existing cover of the cooking appliance, i.e. of the food processor itself or of its mixing container, in order to also equip the cooking appliance with the possibility of internal illumination of the mixing container even during operation. Of course, it is also entirely sufficient to provide a corresponding fitting for an existing food processor, which fitting can be inserted into the opening which is often present there on the cover and fixed therein so that it projects with its transparent section surrounding the side wall above the cover. The interior of the mixing container can then be illuminated by a light source integrated in the fitting, and the illuminated interior of the mixing container can be seen by an observer via the transparent side wall or the transparent region or section thereof.

The cover surface of the fitting can preferably be embodied as non-transparent, i.e. opaque. It may for example consist of a dark plastic, but may also consist of another material or in another colouring or design. In particular, if the light source is arranged in the region of the cover surface, as is provided by a further advantageous development of the invention, but not exclusively in this case, then an opaque design of the cover surface is particularly advantageous. Because it is then avoided that the light from the light source emerges almost backwards from the cover surface. Furthermore, the light of the light source arranged on the cover surface can be guided in the direction of the bottom surface of the cover and through the opening by suitable means, for example a reflector. The observer is not dazzled by the light emitted by the light source, since he directs his line of sight laterally through the transparent region of the side wall into the interior of the mixing container, i.e. not directly at the light source.

The light source can be arranged in particular sunk in the cover surface in order to better avoid possible glare for an observer looking through the side wall.

However, the light source can also be integrated in an attachment that is detachably connected to the base body of the fitting or can be arranged therein. It is therefore even conceivable within the framework of the invention to retrofit existing accessories, for example, which are constructed entirely transparent as a top cover for a stirring vessel of a food processor, by providing the accessory with a light source, which can be connected to the existing accessory.

The attachment can be detachably fixed and positioned on the fitting, for example by means of magnetic force, by snapping, screwing, by means of a form-fitting closure, such as a bayonet catch or the like.

In principle, all devices suitable for producing light can be considered as the light source. Preferably, the light source can be formed by one or more LED light sources and/or OLED light sources. Such a light source or component is advantageous in terms of energy consumption and is relatively robust, while the light can nevertheless be produced with a sufficiently high intensity for the purposes of use here.

Preferably the light produced by the light source is white light. Using for example white light from a white-LED light source, which is as much as possible inclined to the sun's rays in light temperature, the perceived target object illuminated brightly with this light, for example a dish processed during the course of the operation of the food processor, is as much as possible as the observer perceives in daylight.

Preferably, the light source can be designed to be controllable, so that the observer only operates and switches on the light source if he really wants to illuminate the interior of the mixing container in order to look into it.

In order to accommodate further components which are required for the operation of the light source which is formed in the fitting, a support can be formed, in particular, facing away from the top cover, in connection with the cover surface. The holder may in particular accommodate an energy supply unit for the light source, such as one or more batteries or accumulators. Possibly present control circuits required for the operation of the light source may also be arranged within the holder. Preferably, a switch can be arranged on the holder, for example, for switching the light source on and off. This may be, for example, a pressure switch, a push button, a toggle switch or the like.

In the cover according to the invention, finally, the fitting can be designed cup-shaped with a frontal opening opposite the covering surface. In the installed state, this opening faces the interior of the container sealed with the lid according to the invention, in particular is surrounded by the edge of the opening designed in the lid, so that the contents of the mixing container cannot escape through the exposed opening. Such a cup-shaped design enables the fitment, when it is detached from the lid, to be used as a container in which to transport, for example, liquids or other seasonings that need to be added to the interior of the mixing container, and to be fed from the cup-shaped fitment through the opening in the lid to the interior of the mixing container. If the cup-shaped fitting is designed as a measuring cup, it achieves another use by virtue of it having one or more arrow marks, like a check scale, which indicate the specific filling capacity or converted weight of the seasoning introduced up to this point.

As already explained above, another aspect of the invention also consists in a mixing container for a food processor, having an upper filling opening and having a top cover as described above for sealing said filling opening.

The invention also relates to a food processor for preparing food, comprising a housing, a drive device arranged in the housing for a stirring system, a stirring container that can be fastened to the housing and has an upper filling opening, a stirring system that can be arranged in the stirring container and can be connected to the drive device, a heating device for heating the food to be prepared that is accommodated in the stirring container, and a cover as described above for sealing the filling opening of the stirring container.

Finally, the invention is also achieved by an accessory for placement into an opening in a top cover of a blending container of a food processor. This fitment according to the invention has a connecting structure for detachable connection to the top lid of the mixing container. Furthermore, it has a circumferential side wall which is transparent at least in one region. Furthermore, the fitting according to the invention has a cover surface which closes the side wall on the first front side. This cover surface faces a second front side of the fitting, which has a light source arranged for radiating light in the direction of the second front side. This fitting can be and is part of a top cover according to the invention, in particular as described above. The configuration of the fitting of the cover, which is described in detail above with regard to the cover, can of course also be converted separately for the fitting according to the invention, so that with regard to possible extensions of the fitting, reference can be made to the above-described embodiments and the advantages mentioned in connection therewith.

Detailed Description

Possible configurations of the invention are shown in the drawings and are explained in detail below with reference to these drawings.

In fig. 1, the fitting 1 for insertion into the opening of the lid of a mixing container of a food processor is shown in two views, a first perspective view (fig. 1a) and a second perspective view (fig. 1b), in a configuration according to the invention. This fitting 1 is generally cup-shaped and has a circumferential side wall 2 which is made of a transparent material, for example a transparent plastic. In the region of the front face pointing towards the opening in the cup of the fitment 1, on the circumferential side wall 2, a second connecting structure 3 is constructed, which serves as a connecting structure for connection with a corresponding structure on the top cover of the mixing container of the food processor. The connection is carried out in the illustrated embodiment in the manner of a bayonet lock. Furthermore, a circumferential collar 4 is formed on the circumferential side wall 2, which collar serves as a stop for the fitting 1 when this fitting is inserted into a cover opening of a mixing container of a food processor. However, this circumferential collar 4 can also be used as a test scale which indicates a predefined filling capacity of the cup-shaped fitting 1 when a liquid or another object (for example rice or the like) is added to the holder located therein. The filling volume up to the circumferential collar 4 can then be 30ml or another predetermined volume if the fitting 1 is oriented with the opening facing upward.

On the front side opposite the opening, a bracket 5 can be arranged and fixed on the fitting 1. This support either forms a covering surface 6 of the fitting 1 on the front side on which the support rests or adjoins such a covering surface 6. On the plane of the holder 5 forming the cover surface 6 or a plane facing this cover surface 6, LED light sources 7, in particular white LED light sources, are arranged. The LED light sources can also be arranged in the cover surface 6 in a recessed or embedded manner. These LED light sources form the light source with which light can be radiated in the direction of the open front of the cup-shaped fitting 1 when the LED light source 7 is put into operation. The control of the LED light source 7 is arranged within the holder 5 just like an energy source for operating the LED light source 7. On the outer front side facing away from the opening of the cup-shaped fitting 1, on the holder 5, a push switch 8 is formed for switching the LED light source 7 on and off.

The fitment 1 shown in fig. 1a and 1b is now inserted into an opening formed in such a lid and connected to the lid in order to form the lid of the mixing container of the food processor according to the invention. This can be seen in fig. 2 and 3. There, a top cover 9 is visible, which has a central opening 10. In fig. 2, the fitting 1 is shown separated and above the opening 10. In fig. 3, the fitting 1 is inserted into the opening 10 and is fixed there, and is therefore correspondingly connected to the cover 9. Here, it can also be seen that the circumferential collar 4 rests on the front side of the cover 9 and thus forms a stop. The lid, together with the fitting 1 inserted into the opening 10, is again placed on the mixing container 11 and seals this container at the upper opening. In the opening 10, it cannot be seen further that a counter structure is formed which interacts with a second connecting structure 3 formed on the circumferential side wall 2 of the fitting 1 in order to lock and fix the fitting 1 in the opening 10 in a bayonet-type manner.

In the position shown in fig. 3, a light source in the form of an LED light source 7 can now be operated by actuation of the pushbutton switch 8, which LED light source can be switched on in order to radiate light. The interior of the mixing container 11 is thus illuminated, so that an observer can see through the transparent circumferential side wall 2, which projects above the flange 4 and beyond the cover 9, the container interior, i.e. the interior of the mixing container 11, and the state of the food contained in the mixing container 11.

This can again be seen from the schematic sectional view of fig. 4, which shows a sectional view through a stirred vessel 11 according to the invention, which is sealed with a lid 9 according to the invention, into which a fitting 1 according to the invention is inserted. In this figure, light rays 13 from the LED light source, which illuminate the interior space 12 of the mixing container 11, are indicated by means of dashed lines and arrows. Not shown in detail here is a stirring system which is arranged in the bottom region of the stirring container in the operating state of the stirring container, i.e. in the case of connection of the stirring container to a kitchen appliance, and which stirs and/or comminutes the food to be prepared in the stirring container. Also not further shown here are heating devices present on the machine housing of the food processor in the mixing container 11 and/or in the support of the mixing container for keeping warm or heating the food product contained in the interior space 12 of the mixing container 11.

From the above description of the embodiments, it is once again clear that the invention provides a significant use, namely the possibility of illuminating the interior space 12 of the mixing container 11, including a simple and especially retrofittable solution for the roof of existing mixing containers.
