Fig. 3 is a perspective view for schematically illustrating a light emitting diode package according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to fig. 3, the light emitting diode package 1000 may include: a package 1, a first light emitting diode chip 131, a second light emitting diode chip 132, and a wavelength conversion part 140 containing a phosphor 151.

The housing 1 may contain a cavity, and the first and second led chips 131 and 132 may be respectively disposed in the cavity of the housing 1.

The housing 1 may be formed of general plastic (polymer) or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), Epoxy Molding Compound (EMC), or Silicone Molding Compound (SMC), and may be formed of metal or ceramic, and not limited thereto, but may be formed of various materials.

The first and second light emitting diode chips 131 and 132 may be disposed in a chamber formed in the case 1, and may be a light emitting diode chip that emits blue light and a light emitting diode chip that emits green light, respectively. For example, the first light emitting diode chip 131 may emit light having a shorter wavelength than the second light emitting diode chip 132, and in the case of embodying white light by including one wavelength conversion part 140, the first light emitting diode chip 131 may be a light emitting diode chip that emits blue light having a peak wavelength of 440nm to 460nm, and the second light emitting diode chip 132 may be a light emitting diode chip that emits green light of 515nm to 530 nm.

The first and second light emitting diode chips 131 and 132 may be formed of, for example, a gallium nitride-based semiconductor layer. In addition, the light emitting diode package 1000 as shown in fig. 3 discloses a form in which two light emitting diode chips are arranged in a chamber, but the first light emitting diode 131 and the second light emitting diode are arranged

The number and arrangement form of the second light emitting diodes 132 are not limited thereto.

The wavelength conversion part 140 may include a phosphor 151 that converts the wavelength of light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131. The phosphor 151 may have a fluorescence intensity of 10 or less at a peak wavelength of light emitted from the second light emitting diode chip 132 with reference to 100, which is a fluorescence intensity at a maximum peak (max intensity) of an excitation spectrum.

Specifically, the wavelength conversion part includes a phosphor 151, and the phosphor 151 may absorb blue light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131 and emit red light having a peak wavelength of 580nm to 700nm, and the phosphor may include any one selected from the group consisting of a nitride-based phosphor, a sulfide-based phosphor, a fluoride-based phosphor, and a quantum dot phosphor, or a combination thereof, and for example, may include a fluoride-based phosphor, but the kind of the phosphor 151 according to the present invention is not limited thereto.

In addition, quantum dot phosphors (QDs: quantum dots) are compound semiconductors composed of particles having a size of 2 to 50nm units called nanocrystals (nanocrystals), and may include ions of any one or more of groups 2 to 16 in the periodic table of elements, and may include 2-, 3-, and 4-membered substances. As an example, a substance having two, three, and four ions different from each other may be used. As an example, the quantum dot phosphor may include any one or more selected from the group consisting of In, Zn, S, Cd, Se and Pb, for example, may include any one selected from the group consisting of nanocrystals of group II-VI or III-V compound semiconductor group including CdS, CdSe, CdTe, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, GaN, GaP, GaAs, AlN, AlP, AlAs, InN, InP and InAs, and mixtures and composites thereof, and the composites may include any one selected from the group consisting of CdSeS, CdSeTe, CdSTee, ZnSeS, ZnSeTe, ZnSTe, HgSeS, HgSeTe, CdSeTe, CgSeTe, CdHgSTe, CdZnSe, CdZnTe, CdZns, CdHgSe, HgHgHgHTe, HgZnSe, CdZnSe, InGaZnSe, InGaNAS, AlGanNAS, CuGanAs, CuGanNAS, CuGanAs, CugNAP, CuGanAs, CuGanNAP, but is not limited thereto.

That is, the light emitting diode package 1000 according to an embodiment of the present invention can form white light by mixing light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131 for emitting blue light having a peak wavelength of 440nm to 460nm, the second light emitting diode chip 132 for emitting green light having a peak wavelength of 515nm to 530nm, and the wavelength conversion part 140 for emitting red light having a peak wavelength of 580nm to 700nm, and simultaneously cause the wavelength conversion part 140 to include a single kind of phosphor 151, thereby fundamentally blocking mutual interference between different kinds of phosphors, thereby being capable of improving energy conversion efficiency of light emitted from the light emitting diode chips.

The excitation spectrum can measure and show the intensity of fluorescence (fluorescence intensity) released at 630nm when the phosphor is irradiated with light having the same energy while changing the wavelength of the light, and can show the degree of absorption of the light released at each wavelength by the phosphor. That is, the green light emitted from the second light emitting diode chip 132 is hardly absorbed by the phosphor 151 that absorbs the blue light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131 and emits the red light, whereby the non-emission absorption by the phosphor 151 can be reduced to reduce the light loss.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view for schematically illustrating a light emitting diode package according to still another embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to fig. 4, the light emitting diode package 2000 may include: a housing 10 having a first chamber (cavity)11 and a second chamber 12; a first light emitting diode chip 131; a second light emitting diode chip 132; and a wavelength conversion unit 141.

The kind of the package 10, the kind and the form of the first and second light emitting diode chips 131 and 132 may employ the kind of the package 1, the kind and the form of the first and second light emitting diode chips 131 and 132 based on the light emitting diode package explained with reference to fig. 3, but the light emitting diode package as shown in fig. 4 may have a region divided from each other according to the first and second chambers 11 and 12 in which the first light emitting diode chip 131 may be disposed in the first chamber 11 and the second light emitting diode chip 132 may be disposed in the second chamber 12, in which point the light emitting diode package 2000 is different from the light emitting diode package as shown in fig. 3.

That is, the housing 10 may have a form divided into the first chamber 11 and the second chamber 12 so as to block light emitted from the second light emitting diode chip 132 from being incident on the wavelength conversion part 141. Therefore, in the case where the wavelength converting region 141 including the phosphor 152 is arranged in the first chamber 11 or the second chamber 12, non-luminescence absorption by the phosphor 152 can be blocked from the source. This will be specifically described below.

The wavelength converting part 141 is disposed within the first chamber 11, and may include a phosphor 152 for converting a wavelength of light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131. Specifically, the wavelength conversion part 141 includes a phosphor 152, and the phosphor 152 may absorb blue light emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131 and emit red light having a peak wavelength of 580nm to 700nm, may include any one or a combination of a nitride-based phosphor, a sulfide-based phosphor, a fluoride-based phosphor, and a quantum dot phosphor, and may be the same kind as or different kind from the phosphor 151.

The wavelength conversion section 141 may further include a transparent resin in which the fluorescent material 152 is dispersed. The kind of the transparent resin is not particularly limited, but may include silicone resin (silicone), epoxy resin (epoxy), polymethyl methacrylate resin (PMMA), polyethylene resin (PE), and polystyrene resin (PS).

The second chamber 12 may or may not include a wavelength conversion part including a phosphor according to a color of light to be formed by a user using the light emitting diode package 2000. For example, in the case of forming white light, the first light emitting diode chip 131 and the wavelength conversion portion 141 may be disposed in the first cavity 11, and the second light emitting diode chip 132 may be disposed in the second cavity 12, wherein the first light emitting diode chip 131 emits blue light, the wavelength conversion portion 141 includes a phosphor 152 for absorbing the blue light and converting the wavelength thereof into red light, the second light emitting diode chip 132 emits green light, and the second cavity 12 may be disposed in a mold (molding) 142 in which a transparent resin in which no phosphor is dispersed is disposed.

That is, the light emitting diode package 2000 shown in fig. 4 has the following configuration: a phosphor 152 that absorbs blue light to be excited to emit red light is disposed within the first chamber 11, and a transparent resin in which the phosphor 152 is not dispersed is disposed in the second chamber 12 in which the second light emitting diode chip 132 for emitting green light is disposed. By having the above-described configuration, it is possible to fundamentally prevent the problem of mutual interference between the phosphors of different types from each other, which is caused by the use of a red light-emitting phosphor and a green light-emitting phosphor mixed for forming white light in the related art, and to solve the problem of energy loss caused by the re-absorption of light emitted from the green light-emitting phosphor by the red light-emitting phosphor.

Fig. 5 to 6 are perspective views for explaining a light emitting diode module according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to fig. 5 and 6, the light emitting diode module according to an embodiment of the present invention may be in a form in which the light emitting diode packages 1000 and 2000 according to the above-described embodiments are mounted on the substrate 210.

The form of the substrate 210 is not particularly limited, and various materials may be used in consideration of the heat dissipation characteristics, the electrical connection relationship, and the like of the light emitting diode packages 1000 and 2000, and for example, a printed circuit board (printed circuit board) may be used as the substrate 210 of the present embodiment.

As an example, the light emitting diode module according to an embodiment of the present invention may form white light by a mixture of lights emitted from the first light emitting diode chip 131, the second light emitting diode chip 132, and the wavelength conversion part 140, wherein the first light emitting diode chip 131 is for emitting blue light having a peak wavelength of 440nm to 460nm, the second light emitting diode chip 132 is for emitting green light having a peak wavelength of 515nm to 530nm, and the wavelength conversion part 140 emits red light having a peak wavelength of 580nm to 700 nm.

In addition, in the above-described embodiment, description has been made mainly on the case of embodying white light, but the present invention is not limited to white light, and the present invention is applicable to various light emitting diode packages or light emitting diode modules that emit mixed-color light using at least two kinds of phosphors having peak wavelengths different from each other.

Test example 1

Referring to fig. 3, a light emitting diode package 1000 (example) as follows was fabricated: a blue light emitting diode chip for emitting blue light having a peak wavelength of about 450nm and a green light emitting diode chip for emitting green light having a peak wavelength of about 525nm are respectively attached to the housing 1, and a wavelength conversion portion 141 including a phosphor that absorbs blue light to be excited to emit red light is disposed on the light emitting diode chips. The wavelength conversion portion 141 that molds (molding) the second cavity 12 includes a phosphor 152 such as a YAG phosphor, a LuAG phosphor, an OrthoSilicate (OrthoSilicate) phosphor, a thiogallate (Thio Gallate) phosphor, an Oxynitride (oxonitride) phosphor, or a Beta-SiAlON phosphor.

In particular, referring to fig. 7 showing the excitation spectrum of the red light-emitting phosphor and fig. 8 showing the excitation spectrum of the red light-emitting quantum dots (quantum dots), it was confirmed that the following phosphor 151 was used: the green light-emitting diode chip emits light having a fluorescence intensity of 10 or less at a peak wavelength of the light with respect to 100, which is a fluorescence intensity at a maximum peak (max intensity) of an excitation spectrum.

Color saturation (color gamut) was measured before and after the formation of the wavelength conversion section containing the phosphor, based on the color Coordinates (CIE), the light output (IV), and the National Television System Committee (NTSC) standard, and the results are shown in table 1 below.

As a comparative group of the light emitting diode package according to the embodiment of the present invention, a light emitting diode package according to the related art (comparative example) was manufactured, in which a blue light emitting diode chip was mounted, a wavelength conversion part in which a green light emitting phosphor and a red light emitting phosphor were all mixed was formed, and color saturation (color gamma) was measured with reference to color Coordinates (CIE), light output (IV), and National Television System committee standard (NTSC: National Television System committee) before and after the wavelength conversion part including the phosphor was formed, and the result was displayed in table 1 below, and a spectral distribution diagram is shown in fig. 9.

[ Table 1]

Figure BDA0002202913640000111

As shown in table 1 above, the light emitting diode package manufactured according to an embodiment of the present invention emits white light while maintaining the target color coordinates, and at the same time, it can be confirmed that the light output of the light emitting diode package manufactured according to an embodiment of the present invention appears to be 30% or more higher than that of the light emitting diode package according to the related art. Therefore, it can be confirmed that the light emitting diode package manufactured according to an embodiment of the present invention emits light having more significant brightness that can be perceived by human under the same power condition, and thus power consumption can be reduced, thereby improving economy or durability of the light emitting diode package.

In addition, although the color saturation measured based on National Television System Committee (NTSC) is only 93.2% in the prior art, the color saturation of the light emitting diode package manufactured according to the embodiment of the present invention is 100.2%, i.e., it is confirmed that the color saturation of 95% or more is achieved, and the resolution can be greatly improved.

As described above, the present invention has been specifically described with reference to the embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings, but the above embodiments are merely illustrative of the preferred embodiments of the present invention and thus the present invention should not be construed as being limited to the above embodiments, and the scope of the present invention should be construed as being defined in the following claims and equivalents thereof.
