The Japanese polygala is slightly pungent and warm. Calming the heart and tranquilizing the mind, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, eliminating phlegm and relieving cough, relieving swelling and pain, stopping bleeding and removing toxic substances. It is used to treat laryngopharyngitis and tonsillitis in 6-15 g.
