Technical Field

The present invention relates to a polyvinyl chloride foaming composition for manufacturing artificial leather. More particularly, the present invention relates to a polyvinyl chloride foaming composition for manufacturing artificial leather for automobile interiors and similar articles.

Background

Polyvinyl chloride (i.e., PVC, hereinafter the terms "PVC" and "polyvinyl chloride" are used interchangeably) is a major raw material in the production and development of artificial leather. The paste made of polyvinyl chloride added with plasticizer and stabilizer is easy to be colored, and after the coating is gelatinized, it can be made into various products with appearance similar to leather by printing, embossing or embossing and printing. The artificial leather made of the polyvinyl chloride has good strength and wear resistance, is simple and convenient to produce, rich in raw materials, uniform in product quality, convenient to cut and use, light in weight, water-resistant and low in cost, and therefore, the artificial leather is widely used for manufacturing automotive interior materials.

In general, PVC artificial leather used for manufacturing automotive interior materials comprises the following layers: PVC epidermal layer, PVC foaming layer and base cloth layer. In the production of PVC artificial leather, raw materials used include plasticizers, PVC powder, stabilizers, foaming agents, and also surface treatment agents, base cloth backings, adhesives, and the like. Many of these materials generate odors, and low boiling point organic volatiles such as plasticizers, stabilizers, and surface treatment agents generate odors, and blowing agents may emit odors.

In the present society, vehicles are the main places where people stay, and therefore the environment inside vehicles is also receiving attention. The conventional PVC artificial leather raw material emits odor such that the artificial leather manufactured therefrom has an odor grade of 4 or more according to the odor test method PV3900C3, i.e., has a noticeable odor and is unpleasant to the human. This cannot meet the requirements of most medium and high-end automobiles in China.

For this reason, many methods have been developed to reduce the odor grade of PVC artificial leather. CN201510609647.9 provides a production method of multifunctional aromatic environment-friendly PVC leather. In the method, the prepared PVC leather comprises a foaming layer and a surface layer, wherein in order to improve the odor grade of the PVC leather, oily essence is added into the formula of the surface layer material, and the polyvinyl chloride in the surface layer is special polyvinyl chloride resin. In this application, an oily fragrance is added to the top layer. However, the addition of perfume to the top layer can cause surface defects, such as pinholes, to develop during processing of the top layer, thereby compromising the quality of the leather.

CN201710374384.7 relates to a low-odor PVC artificial leather and a method for preparing the same, wherein the odor grade of the PVC artificial leather is reduced by selection of plasticizer and addition of odor adsorbent, and it requires that the foaming agent used is a physical foaming agent. To achieve its object, CN201710374384.7 excluded the use of chemical foaming agents in the preparation of PVC artificial leather. However, in leather production, the chemical foaming agent process is more stable, and the product has better hand feeling. There is therefore a great need for the use of chemical foaming agents in leather production.

In the field of PVC artificial leather, there is a need to further develop a technical solution for reducing the odor grade of PVC artificial leather to improve the car interior environment.

One embodiment of the present invention is further illustrated in conjunction with figure 1. In fig. 1, a release paper is delivered at 101, and the delivered release paper is stored through a release paper at 102 and then delivered to 103 for skin coating. Through the storage of the release paper 102, the machine does not need to be stopped when the release paper is replaced, thereby realizing continuous production. The release paper coated with the skin layer is sent to a drying pipeline 104 for drying, then cooled by a cooling pipeline 105, and the cooled material is further sent to a drying pipeline 106 for coating the polyvinyl chloride foaming composition of the invention on the skin layer to form a PVC foaming layer. The coated material is sent to a drying line 107 for drying and then cooled by 108. The cooled mass is coated with adhesive at 109. The fabric is also unwound through 110 and transported to 111 where the adhesive coated material from 109 is laminated with the fabric, where the fabric is covered on the surface of the foamed layer. The laminated material is sent to a drying pipeline 112 for drying, and then sent to a pipeline 113 for cooling, wherein 114 represents the storage of the material after the foaming of the PVC foaming layer. 114, so that no production downtime is required when changing rolls. The release paper is peeled from the formed laminate material at 115 and wound, and the manufactured artificial leather is wound at 116.

Preferably, the artificial leather produced on 116 may be subjected to a surface treatment to further improve the performance of the artificial leather of the present invention. The surface treatment process in one embodiment of the present invention is described with reference to fig. 2. The artificial leather manufactured by the present invention is unwound and sent 201, and 202 represents a storage stage for ensuring that the front and rear roll switching process does not need to be stopped, thereby realizing continuous production. The artificial leather is then preheated at 203. The preheated artificial leather is subjected to a series of printers at 204 where the paint is printed on the skin layer of the artificial leather. The printed artificial leather is sent to 205 to be dried and then cooled at 206. The cooled surface-treated artificial leather is rolled at 207.

Preferably, the artificial leather produced on 116 or the surface-treated artificial leather obtained on 207 may be embossed. The embossing process in one embodiment of the present invention is illustrated in conjunction with figure 3. The artificial leather of the present invention (with or without surface treatment) is sent 301 to a heating cylinder 302 for heating. The heated artificial leather is further air-heated at 303. The artificial leather is then sent to 304 for embossing. The embossed artificial leather is cooled by 305 and the resulting material is sent to 307 for inspection, stored in 308 and then taken up in 309.

In some embodiments where a base fabric is not used, the embossed artificial leather is cooled by 305 and then may be sent to 306 for printing, where an adhesive is printed on the side opposite the embossed side of the artificial leather at 306 to increase the adhesion of the artificial leather to a substrate (e.g., a door panel chassis), and then the material from 306 is sent to 307 for inspection, stored at 308, and then rolled at 309.

The artificial leather coiled material obtained after the preparation can be cut and packaged according to the required size.

In a fourth aspect, the present invention also relates to the use of the polyvinyl chloride foamed composition of the invention for the manufacture of artificial leather.
