1. Braided preformed radius filler comprising at least three carbon yarns, wherein at least one carbon yarn is a continuous carbon filament yarn and wherein the at least three carbon yarns are braided with each other, characterized in that the at least one continuous carbon filament yarn comprises a concentration of resin composition of 1 to 10 wt. -% with respect to the weight of the fibers of the continuous carbon filament yarn and the total amount of resin within the overall braided preformed radius filler is less than 10 wt. -% with respect to the total weight of the fibers of the braided preformed radius filler, and the braided preformed radius filler comprises only carbon yarns, and the braiding step is based on the following formula, whereby the braiding angle α is at least 18 °:

2. The braided preformed radius filler of claim 1, wherein the braiding angle α is in the range of 20 ° to 45 °.

6. The braided preformed radius filler of any preceding claim, wherein all carbon yarns contain the resin composition at a concentration of 1 to 10 weight percent relative to the weight of fibers of each carbon yarn.

7. Braided preformed radius filler according to at least one of the preceding claims, wherein the braided preformed radius filler has a triangular, square, cylindrical or polygonal cross-sectional shape.

The woven preformed radius filler according to claim 3 or 8, wherein the second resin composition contains at least 50% by weight of bisphenol a epichlorohydrin resin H3 having an epoxy value of 480 to 645mmol/kg and an average molecular weight Mn of 2700 to 4000g/mol, aromatic polyhydroxy ether P2, polyamide or thermoplastic polyurethane resins or mixtures of these compounds, wherein these compounds have a melting temperature of 110 to 150 ℃.

The braided preformed radius filler of claim 3, wherein the second resin composition is solid at ambient temperature, meltable at elevated temperature and present outside the bundle at a concentration of 0.5 to 10 weight percent relative to the total weight of the at least one continuous carbon filament yarn, and wherein at least 50% of the surface outside the bundle of the at least one continuous carbon filament yarn is free of the second resin composition.

11. The braided preformed radius filler of claim 3, wherein the bundle of at least one continuous carbon filament yarn is free of the second resin composition therein.

12. The braided preformed radius filler of claim 3, wherein the bundle of at least three carbon yarns is devoid of the second resin composition therein.

13. The woven preform radius filler of claim 3, wherein the first resin composition further comprises an aromatic polyhydroxy ether P1 having an acid number of 40 to 55mg KOH/g and an average molecular weight Mn of 4000 to 5000 g/mol.

14. Braided preformed radius filler according to at least one of the preceding claims, wherein the at least one continuous carbon filament yarn has 6000 to 48,000 filaments with a linear density of 400 to 32,000tex measured according to EN ISO2060: 1995.

Process for producing a braided preformed radius filler, wherein at least three carbon yarns are braided together according to claim 1, whereby at least one of said at least three carbon yarns is a continuous carbon filament yarn, characterized in that said at least one continuous carbon filament yarn contains a resin composition in a concentration of 1 to 10% by weight relative to the weight of the fibres of the continuous carbon filament yarn, and the total amount of resin in the radius filler is less than 10% by weight relative to the total weight of the fibres of the radius filler.

16. A composite material comprising the braided radius filler of claim 1.
