5. An interior trim glove compartment arrangement (40) according to claim 3 or 4, the fixing portion (411, 421, 431) comprising an aperture to allow passage of a fixing or guiding member.

6. An interior glove box arrangement (40) according to any of the preceding claims, comprising a plurality of reinforcing and connecting elements (41, 42, 43) distributed along the lower edge of the peripheral rim (46).

An assembly for a vehicle door (1), the assembly being formed by a door trim panel (50) and an interior trim glove compartment device (40) according to any of the preceding claims, the door trim panel (50) having an interior trim panel tray (51) and a side wall (52) extending orthogonally to the interior trim panel tray (51) towards the exterior of the vehicle, the interior trim panel tray (51) having an opening (53) to access a receptacle (45) of the interior trim glove compartment device (40), the interior trim glove compartment device (40) being secured with the door trim panel (50), the receptacle (45) being in face-to-face relation with the opening (53), the receptacle (45) directly facing the opening (53), the at least one stiffening and connecting element (41, 42, 43) extending along the side wall (52) of the door trim panel (50), and the at least one stiffening and connecting element (41, 42, 43) are welded to the door trim panel (50).

Technical Field

The present invention claims priority from french application 1903779 filed on 9.4.2019, the contents of which (text, drawings and claims) are incorporated herein by reference.

The present invention relates to the field of vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, and more precisely to a door trim (hide-cache) device.

More particularly, the present invention relates to the attachment of such door trim package to a door trim panel (garniture).

Background

It is known that a vehicle door, particularly a door of an automotive vehicle, includes a door trim panel on the side of a vehicle compartment. The door trim panel includes an opening to enable a user to store objects in a glove box device integrated with the door.

The vehicle door thus has a multilayer structure having: the door inner decorative glove compartment device is fixed with the inner decorative plate; then, continuing to advance toward the exterior of the vehicle, a door liner secured to the glove box assembly, the door liner being on an opposite side of the interior trim panel; then, the door liner is fixed to the body part corresponding to the body part of the door outer layer.

As is known, the trim panel has a hollow form and has a bottom and a side wall extending outwards (that is to say, the side opposite the cabin) orthogonally to the bottom by a few centimeters.

An opening for accessing the glove box arrangement is provided in the bottom part. The door trim glove box apparatus is in the form of a hollow tray (toteau) and has a receptacle formed by a cavity designed to be positioned in facing relation to the opening of the interior trim panel, the receptacle having a bottom and a sidewall, and further, the glove box apparatus is secured to the door trim panel.

More precisely, in the prior art, the peripheral edge of the glove box arrangement comprises apertures to allow passage of fixing members for fixing the glove box arrangement with the bottom of the door inner trim panel. The glove box device is not fixed to the side wall of the door inner trim. In particular, a lower portion of the glove box assembly (that is, a portion on the side of the bottom of the door, in other words, a portion on the side of the floor of the vehicle when the door is mounted on the vehicle) is not fixed to a lower wall (that is, a wall facing the surface) of the door trim.

A problem is that, since the door trim panel is hollow, the lower wall of the door trim panel may be deformed, particularly during transportation of the trim panel to a factory for mounting the trim panel to the vehicle door.

Also, protrusions may be provided to extend from a lower portion of the glove box apparatus to assist in guiding the glove box apparatus during placement thereof to secure the glove box apparatus to the door trim panel. And thus may require felt to absorb the vibration of these protrusions.

Therefore, there is a need for a glove box apparatus having a reinforced fixation to make the assembly formed by the glove box apparatus and the door trim panel fixed thereto more rigid.

Disclosure of Invention

To this end, the invention relates to an interior glove compartment device of a vehicle door, comprising a concave receptacle and having a peripheral edge extending transversely with respect to an edge of the receptacle, for being fixed with a door trim panel and being sandwiched in the vehicle door between the door trim panel and a door panel (in particular a door lining), characterized in that it comprises at least one reinforcing and connecting element, which is integrally formed with the glove compartment device and extends out from the peripheral edge, which is configured for mechanical contact with the door trim panel and is fixed with the door trim panel by welding.

Advantageously, said at least one stiffening and connecting element extends from said peripheral edge orthogonally to said tray, said at least one stiffening and connecting element being intended to extend along a lower portion of a side wall of said door trim panel (longer).

Advantageously, said at least one reinforcing and connecting element comprises a reinforcing portion starting from said peripheral edge and a fixing portion at the end of said reinforcing portion for fixing by welding with said door trim panel.

Advantageously, the fixing portion is orthogonal to a reinforcing portion extending orthogonally with respect to the tray.

Advantageously, the fixing portion comprises an aperture to allow passage of a fixing or guide member.

Advantageously, the glove box arrangement according to the invention comprises a plurality of reinforcing and connecting elements distributed along the lower edge of said peripheral edge.

The invention also relates to an assembly for a vehicle door, formed by a door trim panel having a trim panel tray and a side wall extending orthogonally to the trim panel tray towards the exterior of the vehicle, the tray having an opening to access a receptacle of the trim panel device, and a trim box device as briefly described above, the trim box device being secured to the door trim panel, the receptacle facing opposite the opening, the receptacle facing directly towards the opening, the at least one stiffening and connecting element extending along the side wall of the door trim panel, and the at least one stiffening and connecting element being welded to the door trim panel.

Advantageously, the door trim panel has a lower portion of the side wall, which corresponds to a wall panel (pan) of the side wall for the side of the vehicle floor, the at least one reinforcing and connecting element extends along the lower portion of the side wall of the door trim panel, and the at least one reinforcing and connecting element is welded to the lower portion of the side wall of the door trim panel.

The invention also relates to a door for a vehicle, comprising a body part, a door lining and a combination as briefly described above.

The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising at least one such door.

It is to be noted that the appended drawings illustrate the invention in detail for the purpose of practicing the invention, and of course, may be used to better define the invention when necessary.

Detailed Description

In the following, the invention is described mainly in the context of implementation in a motor vehicle. However, the invention also relates to the implementation of the device according to the invention in any land vehicle.

Referring to fig. 1, an implementation of the glove box apparatus according to the present invention in a vehicle door 1 is described. Such a door 1 comprises a multilayer structure having (from the outside towards the inside of the compartment): a body part 20 forming the outer layer 1 of the door; a door liner 30; a glove box arrangement 40 secured to the door liner 30 on one side and to the door trim panel 50 on the other side.

Fig. 2 and 3 illustrate a door trim compartment apparatus 40 according to the present invention. In fig. 2, the glove box arrangement 40 is shown in isolation, while in fig. 3 it can be seen that it is secured to a door trim panel 50.

The glove box apparatus 40 is formed by a base surface (in other words, a tray) having a recess (in other words, a hollow of concave shape, or a cavity forming the receptacle 45 of the glove box apparatus 40). The glove box arrangement 40 is made of, for example, molded plastic.

The glove box arrangement 40 may also include an opening 44 provided in the base surface to allow passage of, for example, a speaker element integral with the door 1. Outside the receptacle 45 and possibly the opening 44, the tray of the glove box arrangement forms a peripheral edge 46 of the glove box arrangement 40.

The trim panel 50 has the form of a trough and has a bottom 51 (in other words, with a trim tray) comprising a substantially flat portion, and a side wall 52 extending orthogonally to the bottom 51 towards the body part 20 of the door 1. The bottom 51 of the door trim panel 50 has an opening 53 (visible in fig. 1) to access the glove box arrangement 40, more precisely the receptacle 45 thereof.

The glove box assembly 40 is configured to be secured to a door trim panel 50. The receiving portion 45 is configured to be thereby in face-to-face relation with the opening 53 of the door trim panel 50.

The sidewall 52 of the door trim panel 50 includes a lower portion 52B. In one aspect, as described above, the lower portion 52B of the sidewall 52 of the door trim panel 50 has a priori vulnerability: the thinness of the lower portion and the hollow nature of the door trim panel 50 allow the lower portion 52B to collapse during packaging and shipping (e.g., factory destination) of the door trim panel 50 in the prior art.

As shown on fig. 2 and 3, in order to overcome this problem, the glove box arrangement 40 according to the present invention comprises at least one stiffening and connecting element 41, 42, 43 for welding with the lower portion 52B of the side wall 52 of the door trim panel 50.

The reinforcement and connection elements 41, 42, 43 allow for a rigid fixation of the glove box arrangement 40 to the door trim panel 50.

According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the stiffening and connecting elements 41, 42, 43 extend from the edge 46 of the glove box arrangement 40, orthogonally to said base surface, in a direction opposite to the bottom 51 of the door trim panel 50, so as to extend along said side wall 52.

More specifically, the reinforcing and connecting elements 41, 42, 43 extend along the lower portion 52B of the side wall 52 of the door trim panel 50.

Preferably, the reinforcement and connection elements 41, 42, 43 extend along the lower portion 52B of the side wall 52 of the door trim panel 50 in mechanical or nearly mechanical contact so as to prevent any collapse of said lower portion 52B when the glove box assembly 40 is secured to the door trim panel 50.

Preferably, the reinforcing and connecting element 41, 42, 43 has a reinforcing portion 410, 420, 430 extending along the lower portion 52B of the lateral wall 52 of the door trim panel 50, as detailed above, and a fixing portion forming in particular a shoulder (repat) 411, 421, 431 orthogonal to the reinforcing portion 410, 420, 430.

The shoulders 411, 421, 431 may comprise through holes to allow the passage of screws or guide members, such as pins, or they may be used only to facilitate welding (which is designed for coupling the glove box arrangement 40 with the door trim panel 50). The welding is in fact designed to ensure a rigid fixation of the glove box arrangement 40 and the door trim panel 50 at the location of the shoulders 411, 421, 431.

The welding of the connection elements 41, 42, 43 to the door trim panel 50 ensures a rigid fixation of the glove box assembly 40 to the door trim panel 50. Thereby, vibrations of the lower part of the glove box arrangement 40 are prevented and the arrangement of felt, which is necessary in the prior art to dampen vibrations of the lower part of the glove box arrangement, is omitted.

Moreover, the rigid fixation of the glove box arrangement 40 according to the invention to the door trim panel 50 enables better seating of the glove box arrangement 40 against the door trim panel 50 and improves the quality of the screwing of the assembly formed by the glove box arrangement 40 and the door trim panel 50 on the door lining 30, without deformation of the door trim panel 50 (in particular in the lower portion 52B of its side wall 52).
