Technical Field

The invention relates to an elastic wave filter, a multiplexer, a high-frequency front-end circuit and a communication device.

Background

Conventionally, in communication devices such as mobile phones, elastic Wave filters such as longitudinally coupled resonator SAW (surface acoustic Wave) filters and ladder SAW filters have been used. With the recent progress of multi-band communication devices, elastic wave filters are required to reduce insertion loss in a communication band, and to improve attenuation outside the communication band.

Patent document 1 discloses a configuration of a SAW filter having a longitudinally coupled resonator including 5 IDT (inter digital Transducer) electrodes as a reception side filter of a duplexer. The 5 IDT electrodes constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator are commonly connected to one ground terminal on the piezoelectric substrate to strengthen the ground, and a coupling capacitor is provided between the reception-side filter and the transmission-side filter, thereby ensuring an out-of-band attenuation near the passband.

Disclosure of Invention

Problems to be solved by the invention

In the receiving side filter disclosed in patent document 1, it is not possible to improve the unwanted wave response at a higher frequency side than the pass band, which is generated due to the resonance mode of the longitudinally coupled resonators. Therefore, the attenuation amount may not be sufficiently secured on the higher frequency side than the passband of the receiving side filter.

Further, when the reception filter and another filter are applied to a multiplexer and the unnecessary wave response is generated in the passband of the other filter located on the higher frequency side than the passband of the reception filter, there is a problem that the transmission characteristics of the other filter are deteriorated.

The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to provide an elastic wave filter, a multiplexer, a high-frequency front-end circuit, and a communication device, in which the attenuation amount near the high-frequency side of the passband is improved.

Means for solving the problems

In order to achieve the above object, an elastic wave filter according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a substrate having piezoelectricity; a 1 st input/output terminal and a 2 nd input/output terminal formed on the substrate; a 1 st ground terminal and a 2 nd ground terminal formed on the substrate and separated from each other on the substrate; and a longitudinal coupling resonance section disposed on the substrate and on a path connecting the 1 st input/output terminal and the 2 nd input/output terminal, the longitudinal coupling resonance section including three or more IDT electrodes arranged in line along a direction in which a predetermined elastic wave propagates on the substrate, the three or more IDT electrodes each including a pair of comb-shaped electrodes including a plurality of electrode fingers extending in a direction intersecting the direction and a bus bar electrode connecting one ends of the electrode fingers constituting the plurality of electrode fingers to each other, the pair of comb-shaped electrodes facing each other so that the plurality of electrode fingers are alternately inserted into each other, one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes being connected to the path, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the 1 st IDT electrode, which is an IDT electrode disposed at a position closest to the 2 nd input/output terminal, among the three or more IDT electrodes being disposed on the substrate The second electrode is connected to the 2 nd ground terminal, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in all IDT electrodes except the 1 st IDT electrode among the three or more IDT electrodes is connected to the 1 st ground terminal on the substrate.

In an elastic wave filter including a conventional longitudinally coupled resonator, an unwanted wave response due to a resonance mode of the longitudinally coupled resonator is generated at a higher frequency side than a pass band. Therefore, if the grounds of the IDT electrodes constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator section are simply shared, there is a problem that the attenuation on the higher frequency side than the pass band cannot be secured. In particular, if the grounds of the IDTs are made common in the vicinity of the input/output terminal, it is conceivable that the signal wiring and the ground wiring connected to the input/output terminal are close to and overlap each other. Thus, low loss and high attenuation of the signal cannot be ensured.

In contrast, according to the above configuration, the ground terminal of the 1 st IDT electrode closest to the 2 nd input/output terminal among the plurality of IDT electrodes constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator is separated from the ground terminals of the other IDT electrodes, and the ground terminals of the other IDT electrodes are shared. By separating the ground terminal of the 1 st IDT electrode from the ground terminals of the other IDT electrodes, the inductance between the longitudinal coupling resonance section and the ground can be effectively increased, and the attenuation pole on the higher frequency side than the passband caused by the longitudinal coupling resonance section can be shifted to the lower frequency side. This improves the attenuation near the high-frequency side of the passband of the elastic wave filter.

Further, the first electrode may be connected to a path on the 1 st input/output terminal side among the 1 st input/output terminal and the 2 nd input/output terminal, and the second electrode may be connected to a path on the 2 nd input/output terminal side among the three or more IDT electrodes, and the second electrode may be connected to a path on the 1 st input/output terminal side among the three or more IDT electrodes, the path being one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the 2 nd IDT electrode, which is an IDT electrode disposed next to the 1 st IDT electrode in the vicinity of the 2 nd input/output terminal, and a wiring that does not connect the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the 1 st IDT electrode and the 2 nd ground terminal, and a wiring that connects the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes other than the 1 st IDT electrode among the three or more IDT electrodes and the 1 st ground terminal.

Thus, it is not necessary to adopt a three-dimensional wiring structure in which a wiring for connecting the 2 nd IDT electrode and the 2 nd input/output terminal, a wiring for connecting the 1 st IDT electrode and the 2 nd ground terminal, and a wiring for connecting IDT electrodes other than the 1 st IDT electrode and the 1 st ground terminal are provided with a dielectric film therebetween. Therefore, the parasitic capacitance of the wiring for propagating a high-frequency signal in the vicinity of the 2 nd input/output terminal can be reduced, and therefore the insertion loss in the pass band of the elastic wave filter can be effectively improved.

Further, the present invention may further include: one or more series-arm resonators arranged on the path; and one or more parallel arm resonators arranged between a node on the path and a ground.

Thus, in an elastic wave filter having a notch resonator for forming an attenuation pole outside a passband, an attenuation amount in the vicinity of the high frequency side of the passband formed by the longitudinally coupled resonator unit can be improved.

A multiplexer according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a common terminal, a 1 st terminal, and a 2 nd terminal; a 1 st filter connected between the common terminal and the 1 st terminal; and a 2 nd filter connected between the common terminal and the 2 nd terminal, wherein the 1 st filter is the elastic wave filter described in any one of the above, and a passband of the 2 nd filter is located on a higher frequency side than a passband of the 1 st filter.

Since the unwanted wave response due to the longitudinally coupled resonance section, which is generated on the higher frequency side than the passband of the 1 st filter, is located within the passband of the 2 nd filter, it is assumed that the pass characteristic of the 2 nd filter is deteriorated. In this case as well, since the 1 st filter is any of the elastic wave filters described above, the attenuation pole on the high frequency side of the passband of the 1 st filter is shifted to the low frequency side, and thus the attenuation amount in the vicinity of the high frequency side of the passband of the 1 st filter can be improved. This can suppress deterioration of the pass characteristic of the 2 nd filter and deterioration of the isolation between the 1 st filter and the 2 nd filter, and improve the pass characteristic of the multiplexer.

In addition, the 2 nd filter may be a transmission-side filter formed on the substrate, the 1 st filter may be a reception-side filter, the common terminal may be the 1 st input/output terminal, and the 1 st terminal may be the 2 nd input/output terminal.

Generally, an elastic wave filter including longitudinally coupled resonators is applied as a receiving side filter. In the elastic wave filter including the longitudinally coupled resonators, the above-described unwanted wave response occurs at a higher frequency side than the passband, and therefore it is difficult to secure the attenuation amount at the higher frequency side.

However, in the multiplexer, the passband of the transmitting side filter may be located on a higher frequency side than the passband of the receiving side filter. In this case, the 1 filter can improve the attenuation on the higher frequency side than the pass band, and thus can be applied as a filter on the lower frequency side when a multiplexer is configured.

A high-frequency front-end circuit according to an aspect of the present invention includes the multiplexer described above and an amplifier circuit connected to the multiplexer.

Thus, the attenuation amount in the vicinity of the high-frequency side of the passband of the 1 st filter can be improved, and the deterioration of the pass characteristic of the 2 nd filter can be suppressed, so that a high-frequency front-end circuit having an improved pass characteristic of the multiplexer can be provided.

A communication device according to an aspect of the present invention includes: an RF signal processing circuit for processing the high frequency signal transmitted and received by the antenna element; and the high-frequency front-end circuit described above, wherein the high-frequency signal is transmitted between the antenna element and the RF signal processing circuit.

This improves the attenuation near the high-frequency side of the passband of the 1 st filter, and suppresses the deterioration of the pass characteristic of the 2 nd filter, thereby providing a communication device with improved pass characteristic of the multiplexer.

Effects of the invention

According to the elastic wave filter, the multiplexer, the high-frequency front-end circuit, and the communication device according to the present invention, the attenuation amount in the vicinity of the high-frequency side of the passband of the elastic wave filter can be improved.

[1-1. Structure of elastic wave Filter 10 ]

The IDT electrodes 51 to 55 each include a pair of comb-shaped electrodes including a plurality of electrode fingers extending in a direction intersecting with the propagation direction of the elastic wave and a bus bar electrode connecting one ends of the electrode fingers constituting the plurality of electrode fingers to each other. The pair of comb-shaped electrodes are opposed to each other so that the plurality of electrode fingers are alternately inserted into each other.

The IDT electrodes 51 to 55, the reflectors 56L and 56R are arranged in this order from the reflector 56L, the IDT electrodes 51, 52, 53, 54, 55 and the reflector 56R in the direction of propagation of the elastic wave, one bus bar electrode of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53 and 55 and the other bus bar electrode of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 are arranged on the side of the input/output terminal 110 among the input/output terminals 110 and 120, and the other bus bar electrode of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53 and 55 and the one bus bar electrode of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 are arranged on the side of the input/output terminal 120 among the input/output terminals 110 and 120.

In each of the IDT electrodes 51 to 55, one of a pair of comb-shaped electrodes is connected to the signal line 50H1 or 50H2 on a path connecting the input/output terminal 110 and the input/output terminal 120, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes is connected to the ground line 50GC or 50GR, more specifically, one of a pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53, and 55 disposed at odd-numbered positions from the reflector 56L side is connected to the signal line 50H1 on the input/output terminal 110 side of the signal line 50H1 or 50H2, and one of a pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 disposed at even-numbered positions from the reflector 56L side is connected to the signal line 50H2 on the input/output terminal 120 side of the signal lines 50H1 or 50H2, and the other of a pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52, 53, 54, and 55 is connected to the ground line GC 50, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51 is connected to the ground line 50.

According to the above configuration, longitudinally coupled resonator 11 mainly defines the insertion loss in the pass band and the attenuation near the pass band of elastic wave filter 10.

The number of IDT electrodes constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator 11 is not limited to 5, and may be 3 or more.

The series-arm resonators s1 and s2 are elastic wave resonators arranged on a path connecting the input/output terminal 110 and the input/output terminal 120.

The parallel arm resonators p1 and p2 are elastic wave resonators disposed between the node on the path and the ground.

The series-arm resonators s1 and s2 and the parallel-arm resonators p1 and p2 mainly improve the amount of attenuation in a specific attenuation band of the elastic wave filter 10.

In addition, there may be one series arm resonator or none. Likewise, there may be one or none of the parallel arm resonators. The series-arm resonators s1 and s2 and the parallel-arm resonators p1 and p2 are disposed on the input/output terminal 110 side of the longitudinally coupled resonator 11, respectively, but may be disposed on the input/output terminal 120 side.

The structure of the elastic wave resonator constituting elastic wave filter 10 will be described below.

Fig. 2A is a schematic diagram schematically showing an example of an elastic wave resonator constituting the elastic wave filter according to the present embodiment, where (a) is a plan view, and (b) and (c) are cross-sectional views at a one-dot chain line shown in (a). Fig. 2A illustrates a schematic plan view and a schematic cross-sectional view showing the structures of the longitudinally coupled resonators, the series-arm resonators, and the parallel-arm resonators that constitute the elastic wave filter 10. In addition, acoustic wave resonator 200 shown in fig. 2A is used to describe typical structures of the IDT electrode constituting longitudinally coupled resonator section 11, the IDT electrodes constituting series-arm resonators s1 and s2, and the IDT electrodes constituting parallel-arm resonators p1 and p2, and the number, length, and electrode finger pitch of electrode fingers constituting the electrodes are not limited to those shown in fig. 2A.

The elastic wave resonator 200 is composed of a substrate 70 having piezoelectricity and comb-shaped electrodes 201a and 201 b.

As shown in fig. 2A (a), a pair of comb-shaped electrodes 201a and 201b are formed on the substrate 70 so as to face each other. The comb-shaped electrode 201a includes a plurality of electrode fingers 200a parallel to each other and a bus bar electrode 202a connecting one ends of the plurality of electrode fingers 200a to each other. The comb-shaped electrode 201b includes a plurality of electrode fingers 200b parallel to each other, and a bus bar electrode 202b connecting one ends of the plurality of electrode fingers 200b to each other. The plurality of electrode fingers 200a and 200b are formed along a direction orthogonal to the elastic wave propagation direction (X-axis direction).

Further, the IDT electrode 250 composed of the plurality of electrode fingers 200a and 200b and the bus bar electrodes 202A and 202b has a laminated structure of the adhesion layer 250a and the main electrode layer 250b, as shown in fig. 2A (b).

The adhesion layer 250a is a layer for improving adhesion between the substrate 70 and the main electrode layer 250b, and Ti, for example, is used as a material. The thickness of the adhesion layer 250a is, for example, 12 nm.

The main electrode layer 250b may use, for example, Al containing 1% Cu as a material. The film thickness of the main electrode layer 250b is, for example, 162 nm.

The protective layer 255 is formed to cover the comb-shaped electrodes 201a and 201 b. The protective layer 255 is a layer for the purpose of protecting the main electrode layer 250b from the external environment, adjusting the frequency temperature characteristics, improving the moisture resistance, and the like, and is a dielectric film containing silicon dioxide as a main component, for example. The thickness of the protective layer 255 is, for example, 25 nm.

The materials constituting the adhesion layer 250a, the main electrode layer 250b, and the protective layer 255 are not limited to the above materials. Further, the IDT electrode 250 may not have the above-described laminated structure. IDT electrode 250 may be made of a metal or an alloy such as Ti, Al, Cu, Pt, Au, Ag, and Pd, or may be made of a plurality of stacked bodies made of the above-described metal or alloy. Further, the protective layer 255 may not be formed.

Next, a laminated structure of the substrate 70 will be described.

As shown in fig. 2A (c), the substrate 70 includes a high sound velocity support substrate 251, a low sound velocity film 252, and a piezoelectric film 253, and has a structure in which the high sound velocity support substrate 251, the low sound velocity film 252, and the piezoelectric film 253 are sequentially laminated.

Piezoelectric film 253X-propagation L iTaO cut by 50Y3A piezoelectric single crystal or a piezoelectric ceramic (lithium tantalate single crystal or ceramic cut on a surface normal to an axis rotated by 50 ° from the Y axis with the X axis as the center axis, and single crystal or ceramic in which surface acoustic waves propagate in the X axis direction). As for the piezoelectric film 253, for example, the thickness is 600 mn. In addition, the material and cut angle of the piezoelectric single crystal used as the piezoelectric film 253 can be appropriately selected according to the required specifications of each filter.

The high acoustic velocity support substrate 251 is a substrate that supports the low acoustic velocity film 252, the piezoelectric film 253, and the IDT electrode 250. Further, the high acoustic velocity support substrate 251 is a substrate in which the acoustic velocity of the bulk wave in the high acoustic velocity support substrate 251 is higher than that of the surface wave propagating through the piezoelectric film 253 and the elastic wave such as the boundary wave, and functions so that the surface acoustic wave is trapped in the portion where the piezoelectric film 253 and the low acoustic velocity film 252 are laminated and does not leak below the high acoustic velocity support substrate 251. The high acoustic speed support substrate 251 is, for example, a silicon substrate, and has a thickness of, for example, 200 μm.

The low acoustic velocity film 252 is a film in which the acoustic velocity of the bulk wave in the low acoustic velocity film 252 is lower than the bulk wave propagating through the piezoelectric film 253, and is disposed between the piezoelectric film 253 and the high acoustic velocity support substrate 251. This structure and the property that the energy of the elastic wave is concentrated in the medium having a low acoustic velocity by nature suppress the leakage of the surface acoustic wave energy to the outside of the IDT electrode. The low acoustic velocity film 252 is a film mainly composed of, for example, silicon dioxide, and has a thickness of, for example, 670 nm.

Further, according to the above-described laminated structure of the substrate 70, the Q value at the resonance frequency and the anti-resonance frequency can be significantly increased as compared with the conventional structure using a single piezoelectric substrate. That is, since an elastic wave resonator having a high Q value can be configured, a filter having a small insertion loss can be configured using the elastic wave resonator.

The high acoustic velocity support substrate 251 may have a structure in which a support substrate and a high acoustic velocity film that makes the acoustic velocity of a bulk wave propagating at a higher speed than an elastic wave such as a surface wave or a boundary wave propagating through the piezoelectric film 253 are laminated, in this case, various ceramics such as lithium tantalate, lithium niobate, quartz, etc., alumina, magnesia, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, silicon carbide, zirconia, cordierite, mullite, steatite, forsterite, etc., various dielectrics such as sapphire, glass, etc., or semiconductors such as silicon, gallium nitride, etc., and resin substrates, etc. may be used as the support substrate, and various high acoustic velocity materials such as aluminum nitride, alumina, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, silicon oxynitride, a D L C film, or diamond, a medium containing the above-mentioned materials as main components, or a medium containing a mixture of the above-mentioned materials as a main component may be used as the high acoustic velocity film.

Fig. 2B is a cross-sectional view schematically showing the elastic wave resonator according to modification 1 of embodiment 1, and in the elastic wave resonator 200 shown in fig. 2A, an example is shown in which the IDT electrode 250 is formed on the substrate 70 having the piezoelectric film 253, but as shown in fig. 2B, the substrate on which the IDT electrode 250 is formed may be a piezoelectric single crystal substrate 71 composed of a single layer of piezoelectric layers, and the piezoelectric single crystal substrate 71 may be, for example, L innbo3The elastic wave resonator 200 according to the present modification example is composed of L iNbO3The piezoelectric single crystal substrate 71, the IDT electrode 250, and the protective layer 255 formed on the piezoelectric single crystal substrate 71 and on the IDT electrode 250.

The piezoelectric film 253 and the piezoelectric single crystal substrate 71 may be formed by appropriately changing the lamination structure, material, cut angle and thickness in accordance with the required transmission characteristics of the elastic wave filter 10, and L iTaO having a cut angle other than the cut angle described above may be used3The elastic wave resonator 200 such as a piezoelectric substrate can also exhibit the same effects as the elastic wave resonator 200 using the piezoelectric film 253 described above.

Here, an example of electrode parameters of the IDT electrode constituting the acoustic wave resonator will be described in advance.

The wavelength of the elastic wave resonator is defined by a wavelength λ that is a repetition period of a plurality of electrode fingers 200a or 200b constituting the IDT electrode 250 shown in fig. 2A (b), an electrode finger pitch is 1/2 of the wavelength λ, and is defined by (W + S) when the line width of the electrode fingers 200a and 200b constituting the comb-shaped electrodes 201a and 201b is W and the space width between the adjacent electrode finger 200a and the electrode finger 200b is S, and an intersection width L of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes 201a and 201b is a repeated electrode finger length when viewed from the elastic wave propagation direction (X axis direction) of the electrode fingers 200a and the electrode finger 200b as shown in fig. 2A, and the electrode duty ratio of each of the elastic wave resonators is a line width ratio of the plurality of electrode fingers 200a and 200b, and is a ratio of the line width occupied by the plurality of electrode fingers 200a and 200b with respect to the line width and space width, and is defined by W + S) and is defined as an electrode width/(a) of the electrode width of the IDT electrode finger, and a width of the electrode width/(h) and a parameter of the electrode width of the IDT electrode 201b, and the IDT electrode width of the IDT electrode, and the electrode width of the electrode width/(h).

Fig. 3A is a plan view showing the electrode layout of longitudinally coupled resonator 11 of acoustic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1. Fig. 3B is a cross-sectional view of elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1 in the vicinity of input/output terminal 120.

Fig. 3A shows the layout of electrodes constituting longitudinally coupled resonator 11 of acoustic wave filter 10. As shown in the drawing, elastic wave filter 10 includes substrate 70 having piezoelectricity, longitudinally coupled resonator 11 formed on substrate 70, series arm resonators s1 and s2 (not shown in fig. 3A), parallel arm resonators p1 and p2 (not shown in fig. 3A), input/output terminals 110 (not shown in fig. 3A) and 120, and ground terminals 130 and 140. The ground terminal 130 (1 st ground terminal) and the ground terminal 140 (2 nd ground terminal) are separated from each other on the substrate 70.

The input/output terminals 110 (not shown in fig. 3A) and 120 and the ground terminals 130 and 140 are formed in the outer peripheral region of the substrate 70, and are formed of, for example, the same electrode material as IDT electrodes constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator 11, the series-arm resonators s1 and s2, and the parallel-arm resonators p1 and p 2.

The signal line 50H1 connects one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53, and 55 of the longitudinally coupled resonator section 11 to the series-arm resonator s2 (the node N1 in fig. 3A). The signal line 50H2 connects one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 of the longitudinally coupled resonator section 11 and the input/output terminal 120.

The ground wiring 50GR connects the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes of the IDT electrode 51 (1 st IDT electrode) disposed closest to the input/output terminal 120 among the IDT electrodes 51 to 55, the reflector 56L, and the ground terminal 140, that is, the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes of the IDT electrode 51 is connected to the ground terminal 140 on the substrate 70.

The ground wiring 50GC connects the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes and the reflector 56R of all the IDT electrodes 52 to 55 except the IDT electrode 51 (1 st IDT electrode) disposed closest to the input/output terminal 120 among the IDT electrodes 51 to 55, and the ground terminal 130. That is, the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 to 55 is connected to the ground terminal 130 on the substrate 70.

In an elastic wave filter including a conventional longitudinally coupled resonator, an unwanted wave response due to a resonance mode of the longitudinally coupled resonator is generated at a higher frequency side than a pass band. Therefore, there is a problem that the attenuation amount on the higher frequency side than the pass band cannot be secured.

In contrast, according to the structure of the acoustic wave filter 10 according to the present embodiment, the ground terminal 140 connected to the IDT electrode 51 closest to the input/output terminal 120 among the plurality of IDT electrodes 51 to 55 constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator 11 is separated from the ground terminals 130 connected to the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55, and the ground terminals 130 connected to the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55 are shared. By separating the ground terminal 140 connected to the IDT electrode 51 from the ground terminals 130 of the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55, the inductance between the longitudinal coupling resonator 11 and the ground can be increased, and the attenuation pole on the higher frequency side than the passband caused by the longitudinal coupling resonator 11 can be shifted to the lower frequency side. This improves the attenuation near the high-frequency side of the passband of elastic wave filter 10.

Further, the ground terminal 140 to which the IDT electrode 51 closest to the input/output terminal 120 is connected is preferably located closer to the input/output terminal 120 among the ground terminals 130 and 140. This can shorten the ground line 50GR, and thus can further increase the inductance between the longitudinally coupled resonator portion 11 and the ground.

As shown in fig. 3A, although there is a region where the signal wirings 50H1 and 50H2 overlap with the ground wiring 50GC, in this region, the signal wirings 50H1 and 50H2 and the ground wiring 50GC are stacked with a dielectric layer interposed therebetween. Although fig. 3A shows a structure in which (1) the substrate 70, (2) the signal lines 50H1 and 50H2, (3) the dielectric layer, and (4) the ground line 50GC are sequentially stacked in this order in the above-described region, the substrate 70, (2) the ground line 50GC, (3) the dielectric layer, and (4) the signal lines 50H1 and 50H2 may be sequentially stacked in this order.

As shown in fig. 3B, the signal wiring 50H2 and the ground wiring 50GR do not intersect on the substrate 70 in the vicinity of the input/output terminal 120. That is, one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrode 51 is connected to the signal line 50H1 on the input/output terminal 110 side, and the signal line 50H2 between the input/output terminal 120 and one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrode 52 (the 2 nd IDT electrode) disposed next to the IDT electrode 51 in the vicinity of the input/output terminal 120 does not overlap the ground lines 50GR and 50GC in the vicinity of the input/output terminal 120.

Thus, it is not necessary to provide the signal line 50H2 and the ground lines 50GR and 50GC with a three-dimensional wiring structure having a dielectric layer interposed therebetween. Therefore, the parasitic capacitance of the wiring through which the high-frequency signal propagates can be reduced, and thus the insertion loss in the pass band of elastic wave filter 10 can be improved.

[1-2 ] Structure of elastic wave Filter 510 according to comparative example ]

Here, the structure of the conventional elastic wave filter and the problems thereof are shown in advance.

Fig. 4 is a circuit configuration diagram of elastic wave filter 510 according to a comparative example. As shown in the drawing, elastic wave filter 510 includes longitudinally coupled resonator 511, series-arm resonators s1 and s2, parallel-arm resonators p1 and p2, and input/output terminals 110 and 120. Elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example is different from elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1 only in the configuration of the ground connection of the IDT electrode included in longitudinally coupled resonator 511. Hereinafter, elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example will be described mainly focusing on differences from elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1.

In each of the IDT electrodes 51 to 55, one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes is connected to the signal line 60H1 or 60H2 on the path connecting the input/output terminal 110 and the input/output terminal 120, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes is connected to the ground line 60 gc.more specifically, one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53 and 55 disposed at odd-numbered positions from the reflector 56L side is connected to the signal line 60H1 on the input/output terminal 110 side, one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 disposed at even-numbered positions from the reflector 56L side is connected to the signal line 60H2 on the input/output terminal 120 side, and the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51 to 55 is connected to the ground line 60 GC.

According to the above configuration, longitudinal coupling resonator 511 mainly defines the insertion loss in the pass band and the attenuation near the pass band of elastic wave filter 510.

Fig. 5A is a plan view showing an electrode layout of longitudinally coupled resonator 511 of acoustic wave filter 510 according to a comparative example. Fig. 5B is a cross-sectional view of the vicinity of input/output terminal 120 of elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example.

Fig. 5A shows an electrode layout of longitudinally coupled resonator 511 constituting elastic wave filter 510. As shown in the drawing, elastic wave filter 510 includes substrate 70 having piezoelectricity, longitudinally coupled resonator 511, series arm resonators s1 and s2 (not shown in fig. 5A), parallel arm resonators p1 and p2 (not shown in fig. 5A), input/output terminals 110 (not shown in fig. 5A) and 120, and ground terminal 150, which are formed on substrate 70.

Input-output terminals 110 (not shown in fig. 5A) and 120 and a ground terminal 150 are formed on the outer peripheral area on the substrate 70.

The signal line 60H1 connects one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51, 53, and 55 of the longitudinally coupled resonator section 511 to the series-arm resonator s2 (the node N1 in fig. 5A). The signal line 60H2 connects one of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 52 and 54 of the longitudinal coupling resonator 511 to the input/output terminal 120.

The ground wiring 60GC connects the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51 to 55, the reflectors 56R and 56L, and the ground terminal 150, that is, the other of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes included in the IDT electrodes 51 to 55 is connected to the ground terminal 150 when the substrate 70 is viewed from above.

In elastic wave filter 510 including longitudinal coupling resonator 511 according to the comparative example, an unwanted wave response due to the resonance mode of longitudinal coupling resonator 511 occurs at a higher frequency side than the passband. Therefore, there is a problem that the attenuation amount on the higher frequency side than the pass band cannot be secured. In the acoustic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example, the grounds of the IDT electrodes 51 to 55 are shared on the substrate 70 for the purpose of downsizing and ground strengthening, but when the grounds of the IDT electrodes 51 to 55 are shared as shown in fig. 5B, the signal wiring 60H2 and the ground wiring 60GC are laminated in the vicinity of the input/output terminal 120 with the dielectric layer 80 interposed therebetween, and unnecessary capacitance components and resistance components are generated. In particular, when an unnecessary capacitance component and an unnecessary resistance component are generated in the vicinity of the input/output terminal, the passing characteristic and the attenuation characteristic of the elastic wave filter are significantly deteriorated.

[2-1. Structure of multiplexer 1 ]

In the present embodiment, a multiplexer 1 having an elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1 is shown.

Fig. 6 is a circuit configuration diagram of the multiplexer 1 according to embodiment 2. As shown in the figure, the multiplexer 1 includes a reception-side filter 10A, a transmission-side filter 20A, a common terminal 170, input/output terminals 120 and 160, and an inductor 30. The multiplexer 1 is connected to an antenna element, for example, at an antenna terminal 100. An inductor 30 for impedance matching is connected between a path connecting the antenna terminal 100 and the common terminal 170 and a ground serving as a reference terminal. In addition, the inductor 30 may be connected in series to the path. The multiplexer 1 may not include the inductor 30. The inductor 30 may be included in the multiplexer 1, or may be externally provided to the multiplexer 1.

The reception-side filter 10A is the elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1, and is a 1 st filter that is connected between the common terminal 170 and the input/output terminal 120 (1 st terminal), receives a reception wave input from the common terminal 170, filters the reception wave with a reception passband of BandA, and outputs the reception wave to the input/output terminal 120.

The transmission filter 20A is a 2 nd filter which is connected between the common terminal 170 and the input/output terminal 160 (2 nd terminal), receives a transmission wave generated by a transmission circuit (RFIC or the like) via the input/output terminal 160, filters the transmission wave with a transmission passband of BandA, and outputs the filtered transmission wave to the common terminal 170, and the transmission filter 20A may be an elastic wave filter, or an L C filter including an inductor and a capacitor, for example, although the configuration is not particularly limited.

In the multiplexer 1 according to the present embodiment, the transmission passband of the transmission filter 20A is located on the higher frequency side than the reception passband of the reception filter 10A.

At least one of an inductance element and a capacitance element for impedance matching may be connected between the common terminal 170 and each of the filters.

[2-2. high frequency propagation characteristics of the multiplexer 1 ]

Fig. 7 is a graph comparing the pass characteristics of the reception side filters of the multiplexer according to embodiment 2 and the comparative example. Fig. 8 is a graph comparing isolation characteristics of the multiplexers according to embodiment 2 and the comparative example.

The multiplexer according to the comparative example has a configuration in which the elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example is applied as a receiving side filter in the configuration of the multiplexer shown in fig. 6.

In fig. 7, almost no difference is seen between embodiment 2 and the comparative example with respect to the insertion loss in the pass band of the receiving-side filter constituting the multiplexer.

In contrast, in the attenuation band near the high-frequency side of the passband of the reception-side filter, the reception-side filter 10A of embodiment 2 has an improved attenuation amount as compared with the reception-side filter of the comparative example. Therefore, when the attenuation band is included in the transmission passband of the transmission-side filter, the transmission-side filter 20A of embodiment 2 has an improved insertion loss as compared with the transmission-side filter of the comparative example.

Even when the transmission characteristics of elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1 and elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example are measured individually, the same measurement results as those in fig. 7 can be obtained. That is, in the attenuation band near the high-frequency side of the passband of elastic wave filter 10, elastic wave filter 10 according to embodiment 1 has an improved attenuation amount as compared with elastic wave filter 510 according to the comparative example.

Further, as shown in fig. 8, since the attenuation amount in the attenuation band of the reception side filter 10A is improved, the isolation in the attenuation band between the reception side filter 10A and the transmission side filter 20A can be improved.

According to the configuration of the multiplexer 1 according to the present embodiment, the ground terminal 140 connected to the IDT electrode 51 closest to the input/output terminal 120 among the plurality of IDT electrodes 51 to 55 constituting the longitudinally coupled resonator 11 of the reception side filter 10A is separated from the ground terminals 130 connected to the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55, and the ground terminals 130 connected to the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55 are shared. By separating the ground terminal 140 connected to the IDT electrode 51 from the ground terminals 130 connected to the other IDT electrodes 52 to 55, the inductance between the longitudinal coupling resonator 11 and the ground can be increased, and the attenuation pole in the attenuation band caused by the longitudinal coupling resonator 11 can be shifted to the low frequency side (arrow in fig. 7). This improves the attenuation in the vicinity of the high-frequency side of the reception passband of the reception-side filter 10A, and improves the insertion loss of the transmission-side filter 20A. Further, the isolation characteristic in the pass band of the transmission side filter 20A of the multiplexer 1 can be improved.

The transmission filter 20A may be formed on the substrate 70 on which the reception filter 10A is formed. Thus, the multiplexer 1 can be formed by one substrate, and therefore, the multiplexer 1 can be miniaturized.

In addition, although the multiplexer 1 according to the present embodiment is exemplified as a duplexer in which the reception filter 10A and the transmission filter 20A are connected to a common terminal, the multiplexer according to the present invention is not limited to a configuration in which both the transmission filter and the reception filter are provided, and may be a configuration in which only a plurality of transmission filters or only a plurality of reception filters are provided.

The multiplexer according to the present invention can be applied to, for example, a triplexer in which three filters are connected to a common terminal, a quadruplexer in which two duplexers are commonly connected to the common terminal, and the like. That is, the multiplexer according to the present invention may include two or more filters.
