Disclosure of Invention

in an electronic component, a plurality of electronic elements (chip components) are connected to obtain desired electrical characteristics. For example, in an electronic component, a plurality of capacitors are connected in parallel in order to secure a large capacitance. In this structure, the electronic component must be increased in size. Since a space for mounting electronic components is limited in a circuit board or the like on which the electronic components are mounted, miniaturization is required for an electronic component including a plurality of electronic elements.

An object of one aspect of the present invention is to provide an electronic component in which miniaturization is achieved.

an electronic component according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a first electronic element group and a second electronic element group including a plurality of electronic elements each having a pair of external electrodes facing each other; a first terminal connected to one external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components of the first electronic component group and one external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components of the second electronic component group; and a second terminal connected to another external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components in the first electronic component group and another external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components in the second electronic component group, wherein the plurality of electronic components are arranged in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction in the first electronic component group and the second electronic component group, the first electronic component group and the second electronic component group are arranged in the first direction, the first terminal is arranged between the first electronic component group and the second electronic component group in the first direction, and the second terminal is arranged in the following positions: in the first direction, the first electronic element group and the second electronic element group are respectively clamped between the second terminal and the first terminal.

In the electronic component according to the aspect of the present invention, the multilayer capacitors 3 are arranged along the second direction in each of the first capacitor group 5A and the second capacitor group 5B, and the first capacitor group and the second capacitor group are arranged in a first direction (a direction in which a pair of external electrodes of the electronic element face each other) orthogonal to the second direction. The first terminal is disposed between the first capacitor bank and the second capacitor bank. The second terminals are arranged at the following positions: in the first direction, the first electronic element group and the second electronic element group are respectively clamped between the second terminal and the first terminal. With this configuration, in the electronic component, the electronic component can be miniaturized in a configuration in which a plurality of electronic elements are connected in parallel.

In one embodiment, the second terminal may electrically connect the other external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components in the first electronic component group and the other external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components in the second electronic component group. For example, in a configuration in which the second terminal connected to the other external electrode of the plurality of electronic components in the first electronic component group and the second terminal connected to one external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic components in the second electronic component group are separated, it is necessary to electrically connect the two second terminals to each other by a wire or the like when mounting the electronic component. In an electronic component according to an embodiment, electronic elements in a first electronic element group and electronic elements in a second electronic element group are electrically connected to each other. Therefore, the electronic component can be easily mounted on the circuit board or the like.

In one embodiment, the electronic device may further include a case that houses the first electronic component group and the second electronic component group and has electrical insulation. In this structure, the first electronic component set and the second electronic component set are accommodated in the housing. Therefore, in the electronic component, the size of the electronic component can be set by setting the size of the case.

In one embodiment, the housing may include: a pair of first and second wall portions facing each other in a first direction; a pair of third wall portions and fourth wall portions facing each other in the second direction; the bottom portion of one opening formed by the first wall portion, the second wall portion, the third wall portion, and the fourth wall portion is closed. In this structure, the housing is box-shaped. Thus, in the electronic component, the first electronic component group and the second electronic component group can be reliably housed in the case.

In one embodiment, the first terminal may include: a first member extending along a first direction; and a second member extending in the second direction and connected to one external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic elements in the first electronic element group and one external electrode of each of the plurality of electronic elements in the second electronic element group, the second terminal including: a first member extending along a first direction; a second member connected to one end portion of the first member in the first direction, extending in the second direction, and connected to the other external electrode of the plurality of electronic elements of the first electronic element group; and a third member connected to the other end of the first member in the first direction, extending in the second direction, facing the second member in the first direction, and connected to the other external electrodes of the plurality of electronic elements of the second electronic element group, respectively. In this configuration, the electronic components of the first electronic component group and the electronic components of the second electronic component group can be connected in parallel.

In one embodiment, the first terminal may include a third member connecting the first member and the second member, and the third member may be disposed to face the plurality of electronic elements. In this structure, the third member can restrict the movement (displacement or the like) of the electronic component. Therefore, in the electronic component, the electronic element can be prevented from falling off.

In one embodiment, at least one of the first terminal and the second terminal may have a biasing portion that biases the plurality of electronic components so as to press the electronic components toward the terminals facing each other in the first direction. In this configuration, since the electronic component is urged (pressed) toward at least one of the terminals, the electronic component can be appropriately held between the first terminal and the second terminal.

In one embodiment, the biasing portion may be divided into a plurality of portions so as to correspond to the plurality of electronic components, respectively. In this configuration, even when the plurality of electronic components are different in size, the plurality of electronic components can be held between the first terminal and the second terminal.

in one embodiment, the electronic device may include a plurality of electronic component groups including a first electronic component group and a second electronic component group, the plurality of electronic component groups may be arranged in the housing through the insulating member, and one electronic component group and the other electronic component group may be connected in parallel. In this configuration, a plurality of electronic elements can be connected in parallel.

According to an aspect of the present invention, miniaturization can be achieved.

The multilayer capacitor 3 includes a plurality of first inner electrodes 6a and a plurality of second inner electrodes 6b as inner conductors arranged in the element body 3 a. In the present embodiment, the number of the plurality of first internal electrodes 6a is the same as the number of the plurality of second internal electrodes 6 b. The plurality of first internal electrodes 6a and the plurality of second internal electrodes 6b are made of a conductive material (for example, Ni or Cu) generally used as internal electrodes of laminated electric components. The plurality of first internal electrodes 6a and the plurality of second internal electrodes 6b are configured as a sintered body of conductive paste containing the conductive material.

As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the case 13 is filled with a resin R. The resin R is an insulating resin. The resin R has, for example, light transmittance (is transparent). In the electronic component 1, the first capacitor group 5A, the second capacitor group 5B, the first terminal 7, and the second terminals 9 and 11 are fixed in the case 13 by the resin R filled in the case 13.

the electronic component 1 is mounted on another electronic device (for example, a circuit board, an electronic component, or the like). The protruding portion of the first terminal 7 of the electronic component 1 is connected to a first wiring provided in the electronic device. The second terminals 9 and 11 of the electronic component 1 protrude to be connected to a second wiring provided in the electronic device. Thereby, the second terminal 9 and the second terminal 11 are electrically connected to each other.

As shown in fig. 5, in the electronic component 1 having the above-described configuration, a plurality of capacitors C1 to C6 are connected in parallel. Specifically, in the electronic component 1, the capacitors C1 to C3 are formed by the first inner electrodes 6a and the second inner electrodes 6b of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 5A. Similarly, in the electronic component 1, the capacitors C4 to C6 are formed by the first inner electrodes 6a and the second inner electrodes 6B of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 5B.

As described above, in the electronic component 1 of the present embodiment, the multilayer capacitors 3 are arranged in the second direction D2 in the first capacitor group 5A and the second capacitor group 5B, respectively, and the first capacitor group 5A and the second capacitor group 5B are arranged in the first direction D1 (the opposing direction of the first external electrode 3B and the second external electrode 3c of the multilayer capacitor 3) perpendicular to the second direction D2. The first terminal 7 is disposed between the first capacitor bank 5A and the second capacitor bank 5B. The second terminals 9 and 11 are arranged at the following positions: in the first direction D1, the first capacitor group 5A and the second capacitor group 5B are sandwiched between the second terminals 9 and 11 and the first terminal 7, respectively. With this configuration, in the electronic component 1, the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 are connected in parallel, and the size can be reduced. In the electronic component 1, since the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 can be connected in parallel, a large capacity can be achieved.

the electronic component 1 of the present embodiment includes a case 13 having electrical insulation. The first capacitor bank 5A and the second capacitor bank 5B are housed in a case 13. In this configuration, the first capacitor bank 5A and the second capacitor bank 5B are housed in the case 13. Therefore, in the electronic component 1, the size of the electronic component 1 can be set by setting the size of the housing 13.

In the electronic component 1 of the present embodiment, the housing 13 includes: a pair of first wall portion 13a and second wall portion 13b facing each other in the first direction D1; a pair of third wall portions 13c and fourth wall portions 13D facing each other in the second direction D2; a bottom portion 13e that closes one opening formed by the first wall portion 13a, the second wall portion 13b, the third wall portion 13c, and the fourth wall portion 13 d. In this structure, the housing 13 has a box shape. Thus, in the electronic component 1, the first capacitor bank 5A and the second capacitor bank 5B can be reliably housed in the case 13.

[ second embodiment ]

Next, a second embodiment will be described. As shown in fig. 6 and 7, the electronic component 20 includes: a first capacitor bank 22A and a second capacitor bank 22B, a first terminal 24, a second terminal 26, a housing 28.

That is, in the first capacitor group 22A, the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 are arranged in a line such that the opposing directions of the first external electrode 3b and the second external electrode 3c of the multilayer capacitor 3 are substantially parallel to each other. Similarly, in the second capacitor group 22B, the opposing direction of the first and second external electrodes 3B and 3c is along the first direction D1, and the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 are arranged in a line along the second direction D2 orthogonal to the first direction D1.

As shown in fig. 8, the first surface 25a of the second member 24b is in contact with the first outer electrode 3b of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A. Thereby, the first outer electrode 3b of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A and the first terminal 24 are electrically connected. The second surface 25B of the second member 24B is in contact with the first outer electrode 3B of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 22B. Thereby, the first outer electrode 3B of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 22B and the first terminal 24 are electrically connected.

The third member 24c extends along the second direction D2. The third member 24c has a rectangular shape (strip shape). The third member 24c joins the first member 24a and the second member 24 b. The third member 24c extends (protrudes) from an upper end portion (one end portion) of the first member 24a in the third direction D3 toward a third wall portion 28c (described later) of the housing 28 at a central portion of the first member 24a in the first direction D1. The second member 24b extends from an end of the third member 24c in the first direction D1 along the third direction D3. The second member 24b extends from the third member 24c to the bottom 28 e. The second member 24b and the third member 24c form a substantially right angle. The second member 24b and the third member 24c have an L-shape when viewed from the second direction D2. As shown in fig. 8, the third member 24c faces the multilayer capacitor 3 (first outer electrode 3B) of the second capacitor group 22B.

As shown in fig. 9 and 10, the second terminal 26 includes: a first member 26a, a second member 26b, and a third member 26 c. The first member 26a, the second member 26b, and the third member 26c are plate-like members and are integrally formed by press working or the like.

The first member 26a extends along a first direction D1. The first member 26a has a rectangular shape. The first member 26a is disposed to face a fourth wall portion 28d (described later) of the housing 28.

The second member 26b is connected to one end of the first member 26a in the first direction D1. The third member 26c is connected to the other end portion of the first member 26a in the first direction D1. The second member 26b and the third member 26c are disposed opposite to each other in the first direction D1.

The second member 26b has a first portion 26d and a second portion 26 e. The first portion 26d and the second portion 26e are substantially rectangular in shape. The first portion 26d is connected to the first member 26 a. The second portion 26e is located on the inner side (third member 26c side) of the first portion 26d, opposite to the first portion 26 d. The first portion 26D and the second portion 26e are connected at one end in the third direction D3. As shown in fig. 8, the first portion 26d and the second portion 26e are disposed so as to sandwich the first wall portion 28a of the case 28. That is, the second member 26b is disposed across the first wall portion 28 a.

The second portion 26e is in contact with the second external electrode 3c of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A. Thereby, the second external electrode 3c and the second terminal 26 of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A are electrically connected. The second portion 26e has elasticity. The second portion 26e biases the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 disposed between the second member 26b of the second terminal 26 and the first terminal 24 toward the first terminal 24 (in a direction away from the first portion 26 d). That is, the second portion 26e functions as a biasing portion. Thereby, the multilayer capacitor 3 is held between the first terminal 24 and the second terminal 26.

As shown in fig. 9 and 10, the third member 26c has a first portion 26f and a second portion 26 g. The first portion 26f and the second portion 26g have a substantially rectangular shape. The first portion 26f is connected to the first member 26 a. The second portion 26g is located on the inner side (second member 26b side) of the first portion 26f, opposite to the first portion 26 f. The first portion 26f and the second portion 26g are connected at one end in the third direction D3. As shown in fig. 8, the first portion 26f and the second portion 26g are disposed so as to sandwich the second wall portion 28b of the case 28. That is, the third member 26c is disposed across the second wall portion 28 b.

The second portion 26g is in contact with the second external electrode 3c of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A. Thereby, the second external electrode 3c and the second terminal 26 of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A are electrically connected. The second portion 26g has elasticity. The second portion 26g biases the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 arranged between the third member 26c of the second terminal 26 and the first terminal 24 toward the first terminal 24 (in a direction away from the first portion 26 f). That is, the second portion 26g functions as an urging portion. Thereby, the multilayer capacitor 3 is held between the first terminal 24 and the second terminal 26.

The case 28 houses the first capacitor bank 22A and the second capacitor bank 22B. The case 28 is made of resin having insulating properties. As shown in fig. 9, the housing 28 has: a pair of first wall portions 28a and second wall portions 28b facing each other in the first direction D1; a pair of third wall portions 28c and fourth wall portions 28D facing each other in the second direction D2; a bottom portion 28e that closes one opening formed by the first wall portion 28a, the second wall portion 28b, the third wall portion 28c, and the fourth wall portion 28 d. The case 28 has an opening that is open upward and is formed by the first wall 28a, the second wall 28b, the third wall 28c, and the fourth wall 28 d.

The electronic component 20 is mounted on another electronic device (for example, a circuit board, an electronic component, or the like). The first terminal 24 of the electronic component 20 is connected to a first wiring provided in the electronic device. The second terminal 26 of the electronic component 20 is connected to a second wiring provided in the electronic device.

as shown in fig. 11, in the electronic component 20 having the above-described configuration, a plurality of capacitors C11 to C20 are connected in parallel. Specifically, in the electronic component 20, the capacitors C11 to C15 are formed by the first inner electrodes 6a and the second inner electrodes 6b of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A. Similarly, in the electronic component 20, the capacitors C16 to C20 are formed by the first inner electrodes 6a and the second inner electrodes 6B of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 22B.

As described above, in the electronic component 20 of the present embodiment, the multilayer capacitors 3 are arranged along the second direction D2 in each of the first capacitor group 22A and the second capacitor group 22B, and the first capacitor group 22A and the second capacitor group 22B are arranged in the first direction D1 (the opposing direction of the first external electrode 3B and the second external electrode 3c of the multilayer capacitor 3) orthogonal to the second direction D2. The first terminal 24 is disposed between the first capacitor bank 22A and the second capacitor bank 22B. The second terminals 26 are arranged at the following positions: in the first direction D1, the first capacitor group 22A and the second capacitor group 22B are sandwiched between the second terminal 26 and the first terminal 24, respectively. With this configuration, in the electronic component 20, the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 are connected in parallel, and the size can be reduced. In the electronic component 20, since the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 can be connected in parallel, a large capacity can be achieved.

In the electronic component 20 of the present embodiment, the second terminal 26 electrically connects the first external electrode 3B of each of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the first capacitor group 22A and the second external electrode 3c of each of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the second capacitor group 22B. In the electronic component 1 of the first embodiment, the second terminals 9 and the second terminals 11 are separated from each other, and therefore, when the electronic component 1 is mounted, the two second terminals 9 and 11 need to be electrically connected to each other by a wire or the like. In the electronic component 20, the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A and the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 22B achieve electrical connection in the electronic component 20. Therefore, the electronic component 20 can be easily mounted on a circuit board or the like.

In the electronic component 20 of the present embodiment, the first terminal 24 includes: a first member 24a extending along a first direction D1; and a second member 24B extending in the second direction D2, the second member 24B being connected to the first outer electrode 3B of each of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the first capacitor group 22A and the first outer electrode 3B of each of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the second capacitor group 22B. The second terminal 26 has: a first member 26a extending along a first direction D1; a second member 26b connected to one end of the first member 26a in the first direction D1, extending in the second direction D2, and connected to the second external electrode 3c of each of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the first capacitor group 22A; and a third member 26c connected to the other end of the first member 26a in the first direction D1, extending in the second direction D2, facing the second member 26B in the first direction D1, and connected to the second external electrodes 3c of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 of the second capacitor group 22B, respectively. In this configuration, the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A and the multilayer capacitor 3 of the second capacitor group 22B can be connected in parallel.

In the electronic component 20 of the present embodiment, the first terminal 24 includes a third member 24c connecting the first member 24a and the second member 24b, and the third member 24c is disposed so as to face the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3. In this structure, the third member 24c can restrict the movement (displacement or the like) of the multilayer capacitor 3. Therefore, in the electronic component 20, the multilayer capacitor 3 can be prevented from falling off.

In the electronic component 20 of the present embodiment, the second member 26b and the third member 26c of the second terminal 26 have the second portion 26e and the second portion 26g that bias the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 so as to press the first terminals 24 side facing each other in the first direction D1. In this configuration, since the multilayer capacitor 3 is biased (pressed) toward the first terminal 24, the multilayer capacitor 3 can be appropriately held between the first terminal 24 and the second terminal 26.

In the above embodiment, the description has been given by way of example of the second portion 26e of the second member 26b and the second portion 26g of the third member 26c of the second terminal 26 having rectangular shapes. However, as shown in fig. 12, the second portion 26Ae and the second portion 26Ag of the second terminal 26 may be divided into a plurality of pieces by the slits S so as to correspond to the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3, respectively.

In this configuration, even when the sizes of the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 are different, the plurality of multilayer capacitors 3 can be held between the first terminal 24 and the second terminal 26.

The first member 36a is disposed at the center in the first direction D1. The first member 36a extends along the second direction D2. The first member 36a protrudes outward from the fourth wall portion 32d of the housing 32. The second member 36b and the third member 36c have a rectangular shape. The second member 36b and the third member 36c are connected at one end in the third direction D3. As shown in fig. 14, the second member 36b and the third member 36c are disposed so as to sandwich the fourth wall portion 32d of the case 32. That is, the second terminal 36 is disposed across the fourth wall 32 d.

The third member 36c is in contact with the first terminal 24 (first member 24a) of the electronic component 20. Thereby, the first terminals 24 and the second terminals 36 of the electronic components 20 are electrically connected.

The electronic component 30 is mounted on another electronic device (for example, a circuit board, an electronic component, or the like). The first terminal 34 of the electronic component 30 is connected to a first wiring provided in the electronic device. The second terminal 36 of the electronic component 30 is connected to a second wiring provided in the electronic device.

As shown in fig. 15, in the electronic component 30 having the above-described structure, one electronic component 20 is connected in parallel with another electronic component 20. In each electronic component 20, the capacitors C11 to C15 are formed by the first inner electrode 6a and the second inner electrode 6b of the multilayer capacitor 3 of the first capacitor group 22A.
