Technical Field

Background

The BATTERY management module system (BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, BMS) is the link between the BATTERY and the user. The performance of the battery is complex and the characteristics of different types of batteries vary widely. A Battery Management System (BMS) is mainly to improve the utilization rate of a battery, prevent overcharge and overdischarge of the battery, extend the life span of the battery, and monitor the state of the battery.

With the continuous development of battery technology, batteries are used as energy storage devices of energy storage power stations, and the application prospect is wider and wider. However, with the continuous development of energy storage power stations, the system capacity is larger and larger, and in order to reduce line loss, improve energy efficiency, and reduce system cost (under the same power, the larger the voltage is, the smaller the current is, and further the line loss is, the smaller the current is), the requirements on the voltage, the capacity, and the like of the energy storage battery are higher and higher.

The inventor finds that at least the following problems exist in the prior art: current BMS adopts integral modular structure basically, and along with the capacity requirement of the energy storage battery in the energy storage power station is bigger and bigger, the voltage requirement is higher and higher, and integral BMS has gradually can't satisfy BMS's safety demand, has great potential safety hazard.

Disclosure of Invention

The embodiment of the invention aims to provide a battery management system and an energy storage power station, which can enable the data processing efficiency to be higher and more reliable, and can greatly improve the safety and reliability of the battery management system and the energy storage power station.

In addition, the MBMU and the IMM are connected through a communication isolation unit. In the embodiment, an isolation communication mode is adopted, so that interference from high voltage coupling to low voltage coupling can be prevented from being coupled to communication, common mode interference can be suppressed by isolation communication, and the bus can be ensured to be reliably communicated even if serious interference exists.

In addition, the communication isolation unit comprises an isolation chip and an isolation power supply for supplying power to the isolation chip. In this embodiment, the high-voltage isolation unit is additionally arranged between the high-voltage side and the low-voltage side, so that the interference of the high-voltage side to the low-voltage side can be further effectively prevented, and thus different insulation requirements can be met, and the voltage of the battery pack can meet higher design requirements (the higher the voltage of the battery pack is, the stricter the insulation requirements are).

Additionally, the MBMU is connected to alternating current via a first AC/DC isolator power supply, the SBMU is connected to the alternating current via a second AC/DC isolator power supply, the CSC is powered by the SBMU, and the IMM is powered by the MBMU. In the embodiment, the conventional alternating current is converted into the direct current used by the battery management system, and isolated power supply is adopted, so that the influence of the alternating current on the battery management system can be avoided as much as possible.

In addition, the alternating current is connected to the first AC/DC disconnecting switch power supply and the second AC/DC disconnecting switch power supply through an uninterruptible power supply. Because the battery management system needs long-time uninterrupted power supply, and an uninterrupted power supply is added, the problem that the battery management system is paralyzed due to the power failure of alternating current can be prevented.

In addition, a relay is connected between the second AC/DC isolation switch power supply and the alternating current, and the MBMU is connected to the control end of the relay. In this embodiment, the power supply of SBMU can be controlled by the MBMU, so that the power supply of SBMU can be directly cut off by the MBMU under dangerous conditions.

Additionally, the MBMU is connected to the battery pack through a first DC/DC isolation switch power supply, the SBMU is connected to the battery pack through a second DC/DC isolation switch power supply, the CSC is powered by the SBMU, and the IMM is powered by the MBMU. That is, the battery management system may also be powered by a battery pack; in this scheme, as long as the battery pack has power, the battery management system does not have the risk of power failure, and is therefore relatively stable.

In addition, the insulation parameter value is an insulation resistance value, the IMM samples voltage values of a plurality of battery packs, and the insulation resistance values of the plurality of battery packs are calculated according to the voltage values. Detailed Description

In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention more apparent, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, it will be appreciated by those of ordinary skill in the art that numerous technical details are set forth in order to provide a better understanding of the present application in various embodiments of the present invention. However, the technical solution claimed in the present application can be implemented without these technical details and various changes and modifications based on the following embodiments.

A first embodiment of the present invention relates to a battery management system, and as shown in fig. 1, a layered architecture diagram of the battery management system of the present embodiment is shown. As can be clearly seen from fig. 1, the Battery Management system 1 has a three-layer structure, a main Battery Management Unit MBMU (Master Battery Management Unit, MBMU for short) and an Insulation Monitoring Module IMM (Insulation Monitoring Module, IMM for short) are a first layer, a plurality of auxiliary Battery Management units SBMUs (SBMUs) are a second layer, and a plurality of cell Monitoring units CSC (CSC for short) are a third layer.

The battery management system 1 of the embodiment is applied to an energy storage power station, the energy storage power station comprises a plurality of battery packs 2 which are electrically connected, each battery pack 2 comprises a plurality of battery units 21 which are electrically connected, the number of the CSC groups is equal to that of the battery packs, and each CSC group corresponds to each battery pack 2 one by one; and, the number of CSCs in the CSC group is equal to the number of battery cells 21 in the battery group 2, and each CSC is connected in one-to-one correspondence with each battery cell 21 in the battery group 2. Each CSC is configured to acquire cell state data of the battery unit 21 connected thereto; wherein each battery unit comprises a plurality of battery cells electrically connected with each other. It should be noted that each battery unit in fig. 1 may be denoted by reference numeral 21, and only one battery unit is exemplarily denoted in fig. 1.

The number of SBMUs is the same as that of CSC groups, and each SBMU corresponds to each CSC group one by one; each SBMU is connected to CSCs in a CSC group. The SBMU is used for controlling the battery pack at least based on the electric core state data and generating the report data of the battery pack.

The MBMU is connected with each SBMU and the IMM, and the IMM is also connected with the plurality of battery packs 2 and used for acquiring insulation parameter values of the plurality of battery packs; and the MBMU is used for interacting with at least one external device according to the reported data and the insulation parameter value of the battery pack.

It is understood that the number of SBMUs in the battery management system 1 is determined by the number of CSC groups; the number of CSC groups is determined by the number of battery packs, and the number of CSCs in each CSC group is determined by the number of battery cells 21 in each battery pack 2; the number of battery cells 21 in each battery pack 2 and the number of battery packs 2 depend on the specific capacity requirements of the energy storage power station; in other words, the number of CSCs in each CSC group and the number of CSC groups depend on the requirements of the specific capacity of the energy storage plant.

Compared with the prior art, the implementation mode of the invention provides a three-layer architecture implementation mode, various functions of the battery management system 1 are divided into different layers to be independently executed, the data processing efficiency is higher and more reliable, meanwhile, because the insulation performance of the battery pack has a particularly important influence on the safety performance of the whole system, the IMM is additionally arranged to carry out special insulation detection on the battery pack, the insulation performance of the battery pack can be known in real time, the safety and reliability of the battery management system and an energy storage power station are greatly improved, and the requirements of the battery pack with high voltage and high capacity can be met; and no burden is caused to MBMU, SBMU and CSC, and the implementation of the basic battery management function is not influenced.

The following describes the implementation details of the battery management system of the present embodiment in detail, and the following is provided only for the convenience of understanding and is not necessary for implementing the present embodiment.

Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of an electrical architecture of the battery management system according to the present embodiment, and fig. 2 illustrates one CSC group as an example, which is only for exemplary illustration and does not limit the number of CSC groups. It should be noted that reference numeral 21 in fig. 2 denotes a battery cell, and the meaning of the battery cell 21 is the same as that of the battery cell shown in the character of fig. 1, except that the element structure is illustrated in fig. 2, and the block character is illustrated in fig. 1.

The reference numerals "1-" in fig. 2 each denote a communication line; namely, 1-10 is a communication line between the MBMU and the SBMU, 1-11 is a communication line between the MBMU and the IMM, and 1-12 is a communication line between the MBMU and the external equipment; 1-20 are communication lines between the SBMU and the CSC. In addition, HV + and HV-labeled in fig. 2 respectively indicate that the external device is further connected to the positive electrode and the negative electrode of the plurality of battery packs 2, and the external device illustrated in fig. 2 is, for example, a bidirectional power converter PCS (power converter System, abbreviated as PCS) or an Energy conversion System EMS (Energy Management System, abbreviated as EMS), but is not limited thereto.

Reference numerals "2-" in fig. 2 denote power supply lines; namely, 2-10 are power supply lines for supplying power to the MBMU by an external power supply; 2-11 are power supply lines for supplying power to the IMM by the MBMU; 2-20 are power supply lines for supplying power to the SBMU by an external power supply; 2-30 are the power supply lines for the SBMU to power the CSC.

The reference numerals "3-" in fig. 2 each denote a sampling line; 3-10 is a voltage sampling circuit between the IMM and the battery pack 2; 3-20 is a current sampling circuit between the SBMU and the battery pack 2; 3-21 are voltage sampling lines between the SBMU and the battery pack 2; 3-30 are the sampling lines for the battery status data between the CSC and the battery pack 2. The lines 3-10 include positive and negative connection lines of the IMM and the battery packs 2, and the lines 3-21 include positive and negative connection lines of the SBMU and the battery packs 2.

In this embodiment, CAN communication is adopted between the MBMU and the IMM, between the MBMU and the SBMU, and between the SBMU and the CSC, and CAN communication, or RS484 communication, or ethernet interface communication CAN be adopted between the MBMU and the external device. Wherein, a CAN1 network (lines 1-10, 1-11) is formed between the MBMU and the IMM and between the MBMU and the SBMU; a CAN2 network (lines 1-20) is formed between the SBMU and the CSC; the MBMU and the external device form a CAN3 network or an RS485 network (lines 1-12). The present embodiment does not limit any specific communication type, and may be selected according to actual needs.

Preferably, the MBMU and the IMM are connected via a communication isolation unit. Furthermore, the MBMU and the SBMU, the SBMU and the CSC and the MBMU and the external equipment can be connected through the communication isolation unit. In this embodiment, the connections between the MBMU and the IMM, between the MBMU and the SBMU, between the SBMU and the CSC, and between the MBMU and the external device are all connected through the communication isolation unit, but not limited thereto. Wherein the notation "communication isolated" in fig. 2 means that the communication connection here is realized by a communication isolating unit. As shown in the figure, the MBMU, the IMM, the SBMU and the CSC are all labeled with "communication isolation", which means that the MBMU, the IMM, the SBMU and the CSC respectively have communication isolation units, and the communication between the MBMU and the external device (lines 1-12), the communication between the MBMU and the IMM (lines 1-11), the communication between the MBMU and the SBMU (lines 1-10) and the communication between the SBMU and the CSC (lines 1-20) are all realized by the communication isolation units.

As shown in fig. 3, which is a block schematic diagram of a communication isolation unit in this embodiment, the communication isolation unit includes an isolation chip 31 and an isolation power supply 32 for supplying power to the isolation chip. The isolated power supply 32 includes a power driver 321, a push-pull circuit 322, and a regulator chip 323. The output terminal of the power driver 321 is connected to the input terminal of the push-pull circuit 322, the output terminal of the push-pull circuit 322 is connected to the input terminal of the voltage regulator chip 323, and the output terminal of the voltage regulator chip 323 is connected to the isolation chip 31. The power driver 321 is configured to receive a power signal and control the power signal to be output to the push-pull circuit 322 according to a preset waveform; the output voltage of the push-pull circuit 322 is regulated by the regulator chip 323, and then output to the isolator chip 31. Preferably, the power driver 321 is also connected to the isolated chip 31 to supply power to the isolated chip 31. For example, the power driver 321 may be selected from the SN6501 chip, and the push-pull circuit 322 may include a transformer and two diodes; TPS76350 can be selected as the voltage stabilizing chip; the isolation chip 31 may be TJA 1052.

It should be noted that, in this embodiment, the specific type of the chip selected by the power driver 321, the specific type of the voltage stabilizing chip 323, and the specific type of the isolation chip 31 are not limited at all; the selection can be made by those skilled in the art according to the actual situation. For example, if a CAN communication mode is to be adopted, TJA1052 may be selected as the isolation chip 31, and at this time, the communication isolation unit is a CAN communication isolation unit; if the RS485 communication mode IS adopted, Si8641BD-B-IS can be selected as the isolation chip 31, and the communication isolation unit IS an RS485 communication isolation unit. In the embodiment, an isolation communication mode is adopted, so that interference from high voltage coupling to low voltage coupling can be prevented from being coupled to communication, common mode interference can be suppressed by isolation communication, and the bus can be ensured to be reliably communicated even if serious interference exists. Moreover, the isolation power supply is realized by adopting a push-pull circuit, and the isolation mode is transformer isolation; different output voltage values can be obtained by adjusting the binding ratio of the transformer, the application is relatively flexible, and the requirements of isolation voltage-withstanding grades of different application environments can be met by selecting the voltage-withstanding grades of the transformer and the chip.

Preferably, in the present embodiment, the conventional ac power is converted into the dc power used by the battery management unit, wherein the ac power may be a commercial power source or an industrial power grid. As shown in fig. 2, the MBMU is connected to alternating current (lines 2-10) by a first AC/DC isolated switch power supply, the SBMU is connected to alternating current (lines 2-20) by a second AC/DC isolated switch power supply, the CSC is powered by the SBMU (lines 2-30), and the IMM is powered by the MBMU (lines 2-11). The conventional alternating current is converted into direct current used by the battery management system, and isolated power supply is adopted, so that the influence of the alternating current on the battery management system can be avoided as far as possible. Preferably, the first AC/DC isolation switch power supply and the second AC/DC isolation switch power supply are both provided with reinforced insulation measures, including treatment of an isolation belt, a slot cutting and the like, so as to better meet the requirements.

Specifically, the first AC/DC isolation switch power supply converts alternating current into first direct current voltage and outputs the first direct current voltage to the MBMU, the MBMU is powered by the first direct current voltage, and meanwhile the IMM is powered by the first direct current voltage. The second AC/DC isolating switch power supply converts the alternating current into a second direct current voltage and outputs the second direct current voltage to the SBMU, the SBMU is powered by the second direct current voltage, and meanwhile the second direct current voltage is used for supplying power to the CSC group connected with the SBMU. In this embodiment, the CSCs in the CSC group are sequentially arranged, and the power supply lines are connected between adjacent CSCs, the SBMU may supply power to one CSC in the CSC group by using the second direct current voltage, and the supplied CSC supplies power to the adjacent CSC by using the second direct current voltage, and so on; however, the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the SBMU may also output voltages to the CSCs of the corresponding CSC group.

In addition, in this embodiment, the first dc voltage and the second dc voltage have the same magnitude, for example, both may be 24 volts, and the power supply voltage obtained by the IMM is also the first dc voltage, and the power supply voltage obtained by the CSC is also the second dc voltage. In another example, the battery management system may also be powered directly from a dc voltage source; for example, the MBMU is connected to the battery pack 2 via a first DC/DC isolated switch power supply (not shown), the SBMU is connected to the battery pack 2 via a second DC/DC isolated switch power supply (not shown), the CSC is powered by the SBMU, and the IMM is powered by the MBMU. That is, the battery management system 1 may also be powered by the battery pack 2; in this scheme, the battery management system 1 does not risk a power outage as long as the battery pack 2 is charged, and is therefore relatively stable. The first DC/DC isolation switch power supply and the second DC/DC isolation switch power supply may be respectively used as a single module, or the first DC/DC isolation switch power supply may also be integrated in the MBMU, and the second DC/DC isolation switch power supply may also be integrated in the SBMU.

In this embodiment, each CSC is configured to acquire cell state data of the battery unit 21 connected to the CSC, where the cell state data includes a cell voltage, a temperature of the battery unit 21, and the like.

The SBMU is configured to control the battery pack 2 based on at least the cell state data, and generate report data of the battery pack 2. Specifically, after the SBMU receives the cell state data reported by the CSC, the SBMU controls the CSC to realize balanced management according to the cell voltage; the reported data of the battery pack 2 at least includes the temperature of the battery unit 21, that is, the SBMU reports the temperature of the battery unit 21 to the MBMU.

Preferably, the SBMU is further configured to implement charge and discharge management of the battery pack. Specifically, the SBMU is further connected to the battery pack 2, wherein the SBMU acquires the working current of the battery pack 2 through lines 3-20, acquires the working voltage of the battery pack 2 through lines 3-21, and implements charging and discharging management on the battery pack 2 according to the working current and the working voltage. Furthermore, the SBMU can also calculate the remaining capacity of the battery pack according to the operating current (i.e., perform SOC calculation), and the reported data further includes the remaining capacity of the battery pack.

Furthermore, the SBMU may further include a local fault detection mechanism, where the local fault detection mechanism is configured to monitor a plurality of local fault parameters of the SBMU itself (a main chip and some functional modules in the SBMU), and the reported data may further include parameter values of the local fault parameters.

The IMM is used for monitoring the plurality of battery packs and obtaining insulation parameter values of the plurality of battery packs 2. Specifically, the insulation parameter value in this embodiment may be an insulation resistance value, and the IMM is connected to the plurality of electrically connected battery packs 2 and acquires voltage values of the plurality of battery packs (acquired through lines 3 to 10); the IMM calculates insulation resistance values of the plurality of battery packs according to the voltage values of the plurality of battery packs. Because the plurality of battery packs 2 are electrically connected, the IMM is only connected to one of the battery packs 2, and the acquired voltage value is the voltage value of the plurality of battery packs 2; the monitoring method of the IMM on the battery pack comprises an alternating current injection method, a national standard method and a derivative method thereof.

The MBMU is used for interacting with at least one external device according to the reported data and the insulation parameter value of the battery pack 2. For example, in this embodiment, the MBMU is configured to analyze the insulation parameter values and obtain insulation detection results of the plurality of battery packs 2; and if the insulation detection result indicates that the insulation fault exists, the MBMU executes an interactive measure corresponding to the insulation fault on the external equipment. The MBMU can be simultaneously connected with a plurality of external devices, such as PCS, EMS, an upper computer and the like, and when an insulation fault exists, the MBMU can control the PCS and the EMS to stop working so as to avoid danger; meanwhile, the MBMU can also send a danger alarm signal to the upper computer so that the upper computer can send out a danger prompt (character display or sound alarm) in time.

The MBMU can also execute corresponding interactive measures to the external equipment according to the reported data of the battery pack 2; or comprehensively evaluating the conditions of the reported data and the insulation parameter value of the battery pack 2, and executing corresponding interactive measures on the external equipment according to the comprehensive evaluation result. In the embodiment, how the MBMU determines whether to interact with the external device according to the reported data and the insulation parameter value of the battery pack 2, and the specific interaction mode with the external device are not limited at all, and can be set according to actual conditions.

A second embodiment of the present invention relates to a battery management system. The second embodiment is substantially the same as the first embodiment, and the main improvements are: in the second embodiment of the present invention, each low-voltage side of the battery management system 1 and the high-voltage side where the battery pack is located are connected by a high-voltage isolation unit.

Fig. 4 is an electrical schematic diagram of a battery management system according to a second embodiment of the invention. Wherein, each low voltage side of the battery management system 1 at least comprises a low voltage circuit in the CSC, a low voltage circuit in the IMM, and preferably, a low voltage circuit in the SBMU; that is, the CSC, the IMM, and the battery pack 2 are isolated from each other by the high-voltage isolation unit, and the SBMU and the battery pack 2 are isolated from each other by the high-voltage isolation unit. It should be noted that the labeled "high voltage isolation" in fig. 4 indicates that the communication connection is realized by the high voltage isolation unit. As shown in the figure, the IMM, the SBMU and the CSC are all marked with "high voltage isolation", which means that the IMM, the SBMU and the CSC respectively have high voltage isolation units, and the connections between the IMM and the battery pack 2 (lines 3-10), between the SBMU and the battery pack 2 (lines 3-20 and lines 3-21) and between the CSC and the battery pack 2 (lines 3-30) are realized by the high voltage isolation units.

The high-voltage isolation unit may also include an isolation power supply and an isolation chip, where the isolation power supply may be the same as the isolation power supply in fig. 2, and the isolation chip may adopt Si8641BD-B-IS and a chip with a corresponding function type, etc.; furthermore, a reinforced insulation measure can be made on the PCB where the high-voltage isolation unit is located, and the specific mode of the reinforced insulation measure can comprise an isolation belt, groove cutting treatment and the like. It should be noted that, the designer can flexibly select the specific way of reinforcing the insulation measure according to the insulation requirement.

In this embodiment, the high voltage isolation unit is added between the high voltage side and the low voltage side, and the interference of the high voltage side to the low voltage side can be further effectively prevented, so that different insulation requirements are met, and the voltage of the battery pack 2 can meet higher design requirements (the higher the voltage of the battery pack is, the stricter the insulation requirements are).

In the present embodiment, the low voltage side of the battery management system 1 is not limited at all, and a high voltage isolation unit may be provided for isolation in all cases where the low voltage side and the high voltage side are connected.

A third embodiment of the present invention relates to a battery management system. The third embodiment is substantially the same as the second embodiment, and the main improvements are: in a third embodiment of the present invention, the MBMU may control the power supply of the SBMU.

Fig. 5 is an electrical architecture diagram illustrating a third embodiment of the present invention. And a relay K is connected between the second AC/DC isolating switch power supply and the alternating current, and the MBMU is connected to the control end of the relay K. Thus, the MBMU may control the power supply of the SBMU, e.g., in a hazardous situation, the MBMU may directly power off the SBMU.

It should be noted that this embodiment may also be an improvement on the first embodiment.

A fourth embodiment of the invention relates to an energy storage power station, including the battery management system according to any one of the first to third embodiments; reference may be made to any of figures 1 to 5.

Specifically, each battery pack 2, the CSC group corresponding to the battery pack 2, and the SBMU corresponding to the CSC group may be installed in the same electrical cabinet; the MBMU and IMM can be installed in a master control cabinet; that is, the energy storage power station may include one master cabinet and a plurality of electrical cabinets, which are electrically connected.

The energy storage power station in the embodiment can be used for being matched with photovoltaic grid-connected power generation application.

It should be noted that this embodiment mode corresponds to any one of the first to third embodiment modes, and may be implemented in cooperation with the first embodiment mode. The related technical details mentioned in the first embodiment are still valid in this embodiment, and are not described herein again in order to reduce repetition. Accordingly, the related-art details mentioned in the present embodiment can also be applied to the first embodiment.

It should be noted that each module referred to in this embodiment is a logical module, and in practical applications, one logical unit may be one physical unit, may be a part of one physical unit, and may be implemented by a combination of multiple physical units. In addition, in order to highlight the innovative part of the present invention, elements that are not so closely related to solving the technical problems proposed by the present invention are not introduced in the present embodiment, but this does not indicate that other elements are not present in the present embodiment.

It will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the foregoing embodiments are specific examples for carrying out the invention, and that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention in practice.
