1. A user input device, comprising:

a user actuatable trigger configured to pivot about a trigger axis, the user actuatable trigger comprising a sector gear;

an attitude sensor configured to determine an attitude of the user-actuatable trigger about the trigger axis; and

a force feedback motor configured to drive the sector gear based on a force feedback signal.

2. The user input device of claim 1, wherein the user actuatable trigger comprises a finger interface and a motor interface opposite the finger interface, and wherein the sector gear is disposed on the motor interface.

3. The user input device of claim 2, wherein the finger interface is coupled to the motor interface such that the finger interface and the motor interface pivot together about the trigger axis.

4. The user input device of claim 2, wherein the motor interface pivots about the trigger axis separately from the finger interface.

5. The user input device of claim 4, further comprising:

a return spring operatively interposed between the finger interface and the motor interface and configured to bias the user actuatable trigger forward toward a deployed position.

The user input device of claim 1, wherein the sector gear includes a plurality of gear teeth disposed on an outer convex side of the sector gear, wherein the force feedback motor is configured to drive one or more intermediate gears, and wherein the one or more intermediate gears mesh with the plurality of gear teeth to drive the sector gear.

7. The user input device of claim 1, wherein the sector gear includes a plurality of gear teeth disposed on a concave side of the sector gear, wherein the force feedback motor is configured to drive one or more intermediate gears, and wherein the one or more intermediate gears mesh with the plurality of gear teeth to drive the sector gear.

8. The user input device of claim 1, further comprising:

a magnet coupled to the user-actuatable trigger; and

wherein the gesture sensor comprises a Hall effect sensor configured to determine the gesture of the user-actuatable trigger based on the position of the magnet relative to the Hall effect sensor.

9. The user input device of claim 1, further comprising:

a clutch operatively interposed between the user actuatable trigger and the force feedback motor and configured to mechanically vary the engagement between the user actuatable trigger and the force feedback motor.

10. The user input device of claim 1, wherein the force feedback motor is configured to provide a hard stop at a specified pose within a pivot range of the user actuatable trigger.
